Q1. A woman from the future created the grid to protect the earth from extremesolar radiation. What did they do?…
Hi thanks for writing and helping me understand the series. I really appreciate it cause theres literally no one in my group who bothered to see this and a post-series discussion is much needed to go over what happened.
Sorry in advance but this will be a little too long.
Q1. I disagree that AB doesnt know that Founder and Ghost are the same, at least the higher ups know. Even SaeHa knows she is the same, thats why his obsession to catch her and make her pay. Episode 3 when SaeHa was showing the videos to SaeByeok he clearly said she setup the grid. Even choi son wool knew this, isnt that why they dont want her exposed, to prevent people knowing that the grid was a tech from the future? If ever, i think only the regular agents didnt know she was the same. Yes, i do agree that they wanted her Time Travel tech, but is capturing and torturing her the right way to do it, after all she is the Savior of mankind, despite her tactics, she still saved a lot of people, is that the right way to repay her. Did they even think about approaching her diplomatically, at least see if she will be amenable to sharing the tech, or maybe let her explain why it shouldnt and cannot pass to them at that time? Why is violence the answer?
Q3. Yes, i saw the the explanation of DNA percentage, but that is still confusing - no1, if Ma Nok was not direct descendant to the Ghost, then it would make it a lot more confusing since saving MaNok doesnt serve any purpose at all. She could have let the police catch Manok and just protected Sae Byeok and the ghost will still be born. If they needed SaeHa to die just to make Sae Byeok get it on with Eo Jin, the ghost can simply dispose him later without anyone knowing.
If in case the purpose of MaNok is to kill Sae Ha, then why is he alive in the end?
Which brings me back to Q2. "time does not flow" - even if you add Einstein and Block universe theory, that still make the time travel aspect of the show confusing, on so many levels. I get that time travel story is a tricky business, but this one is extra tricky. Let me put it this way, if they ended the series with a cliffhanger at episode 8, it may be a little more acceptable and would have rated the show at least a 9. Then they could introduce all the other things they added at episode 9 and 10 in the next season's first few episodes, at least there will be enough time to explain to us 'normal' beings what actually happened. Here's some points that confused me in connection to the time travel bit: 1. As i mentioned in q3, why is saving Manok important if he is not a direct ancestor of the Ghost. Why does SaeHa needed to die, only to be alive in the end and who turned back time to save him. 2. When the Ghost said time.doesnt flow to EoJin, his light lit up like it explains everything. Are we supposed to get it as viewers? Yes, im hypothesizing that the Ghost told him that he was her ancestor or grandfather thats why he decided to save the ghost. But the moment when the explosion happened, shouldnt the ghost vanish too? If you are saying time is linear, then why is she diappearing at some other instance? 3. Doesnt SaeHa's time travelling broke the time doesnt flow concept itself? When he created a future without the grid, doesnt that make time travel null because the future where time travel exists will not happen. Also in that timeline, we didnt see the present SaeHa so we are assuming that he took that timeline's Sae Ha's being. So why when he went back in time again, he saw his other younger self, meaning there were 2 SaeHa? Also, when he went back from the timeline with no grid, following the linewr time rule, isnt the ghost not supposed to be there because he already erased her in his timeline. 4. Why the need to add the second time traveller at the very last episode? They had an unnecessary and unexplained fight, that didnt amount to anything. If he was there to correct the ghosts mistakes, then why didnt he show up when SaeHa was time travelling? Does that mean Sae Ha is suppossd to time travel and change the past? If the intention is to excite fans for a possible next season, well it didnt. At least not for me.
Again sorry about the rant. Id appreciate if i could hear from you again. Thanks.
I came here to see if I was alone thinking this! Thank you! I enjoyed a lot watching the first 7-8 episodes! However,…
Hey thanks for writing.
I totally hate it when BLs add a girl character so we can have someone to hate. A lot of these BL dramas think its ok to portray girls as the villains in a budding same sex boy love and make them totally b*tchy so viewers will be ok and support the guy liking another guy.
And yes i totally hated that who-to-choose arc in the middle of the finale, like, do we need to add more drama its already the last episode, they could have done that earlier so it doesnt feel like an after thought.
I totally agree with you 👍 that kind of breakup didn't make any sense.... I m very disappointed with that ending....breakup…
Moon Lovers gave me a totally different vibe, for me it was a fairy tale with terrifically tragic ending. We knew from the beginning she wasnt meant to be in the past or that she was living somebody else's life. But since it was a fantasy series i can rest wishing that they will meet in the present time.
2521 however made a melodrama that has too many drama just for the sake of making the viewers cry. I would have been happy if they ended the past on the bus stop act - for me that was already beautiful. But then they have to add that notebook and tunnel scenes (which was way too long by the way) with the past and pressnt HeeDo because they needed to extend the drama, but for me that lessened the impact of the bus stop scene, and made things confusing cause it felt like the present HeeDo is someone who hasnt and cannot move on from the past.
In my opinion, after the bus scene, they could have shown the continuation of HeeDo's story with her friends and husband (or at least show us that he died or they were seprated) so at least we know why she is still pining for YiJin.
Hi! Thanks for reading.Yes, you got all of the. Right :)
Infairness to the show, its not without its merits. The first episode totally wowed me so i thought ts gonna be a worthy watch. I also gave it a lot of benefit of the doubt since they based it from a popular source material so maybe the choices are rather limited if they want it to be true to that. Also, most of the times i watch korean dramas if i like the actors in it and i really liked Jo Yi Hyun in School 2021 so shes part of the reason why i continued watching. Plus Solomon is just really easy on the eye.
I did get a few people telling me i didnt understand the show thats why i gave it a low rating. I think quite a few people thought i was nitpicking.
I disagree with your point where you said it was portraying their relationship as if it was in a utopian society.…
Hi, thanks for writing.
I wont totally discount your view of the series cause it may be the case and a part of me agrees with it. However a bigger part of me feels like it was intentionally made to look like in their world, homosexuality is as normal as hetero-relationships. I think its a wise choice to appeal to a wider audience. Watching this series with my straight brother and sister certainly was easier (with a lot less reaction, violent or otherwise) compared to when we watch say for example Cutie Pie.
While i agree with most of what you said, i had to comment on your remarks about this mini series ignoring same…
Hi! Thanks for reading and commenting, i think your points are all valid, too.
I think what i am forgetting is that most of the BL webtoons, comics and dramas are marketed for young adult girls and most of them really doesnt care about the struggles of same sex relationship. My only concern is that these shows are normalizing that kind of love way too much, and i fear that sometimes, young guys who are going to experience that same love will find it a lot different in real life, and thats where trauma starts. For me, im just hoping these kind of shows and contents will not only show same sex love as a normal kind of love, but in a way, help other people dealing with the same issues, whether its the the person in the relationship or the parents or the people around them.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Said everything I wanted to say. I think I'll just ask people to read this…
Thanks for reading ;). I really really want to love the show but they made it hard. They assembled some of the cutest guys and they made the viewers hate the characters.
Sorry in advance but this will be a little too long.
