Title One Spring Night Spoiler
The chemistry is off the charts.Their lovey-dovey scenes feel so natural
Yes.
Remember when Jo-hi tried to kiss Jung-in in his apartment? He slipped and they both smiled. Not sure this was scripted.
Same when she joined him on the couch and they fell off of it.

Unlike other dramas, this one felt so real...

I love Han Ji Min, she is like, my spirit animal. I'm in the process of re-watching this drama for a third time,…
Same for me.
I didn't know her before this show.
She is not as busy as other actresses but she is so great. You can always "feel" her emotions whether you like her or not.
Such a great actress.

Title One Spring Night Spoiler
i didnt like Lee Jung In. She cheated on her boyfriend and was playing with both of their feelings. I just hated…
This is a drama...but for the sake of argument.
What is considered as "cheating"? It really varies from one person to another.
I didn't have any problems with what she did. The relationship she was having is...well...pretty much dead.
The only thing she needed was that "push". Jo-hi was just that.
Being head strong and knowing what you want doesn't make you more mature. Remember, the show told us a few times how immature Jung-in was compared to Jo-hi.
For some people, not everything is all black and white.
Is Korean culture really like this with single parent fathers? Might be why she took it slow with Jo-hi. She was looking for support from her mother and friends.
Once she knew it was okay, she made her move. What the show didn't tell us is the time laps from beginning to end.
From the show's title, we might assume 3 months. So for me, she kinda moved rather quickly.
As for her bf, I agree. He never, not once, listened to her. This is passed stubbornness.

My daughter would watch this drama show next to me while I am doing work at home due to Covid-19. The drama is…
At the beginning of the show, she never does. But as the show progresses, we see her smile more and more.
The music is awesome for this show. Although, the production could've hired someone to make arrangements for background music based on the original score.

Did the FL cheat on the ML? I read somewhere that she cheated on him. Can anyone confirm?
It depends on what you consider as "cheating"

Person Han Ji Min
I used to watched a lot of different stuff but one night I stumbled upon a small video on YouTube and I was instantly hooked on those small kdramas :\
One thing lead to another and I'm watching full kdrama series on Netflix. Then, last week, I watched On Spring Night. Whoaaa...Great lead actress. This show made me discover this wonderful actress, Han Ji-min. She is absolutely charming. Wish you well in your future projects.

Yes; I understand South Korean culture very well. I understand how people watch drama's because some of them are…
I didn't mean to poke at you.
I understand what you mean. From time to time, I like to watch this kind of show and I don't know why I liked this one more than any another.
I have some friends who hated Game of Thrones with a passion. We all have our tastes and that's what matters.

Of course the story is cliché, it's kinda hard to reinvent the genre. It's just a matter of how it's told. I will re-watch it when I understand korean better.

Review One Spring Night Spoiler
For me, the casting was perfect. Han Ji-min as Lee Jeong-in was perfect. She might looked older than Yoo Ji-ho but it doesn't mean she's more mature. Anyone who had children will tell you what effect they have on you.
Lee Jeong-in is a strong willed woman who knows what she wants. So at some point, I understand why Kwon Ki‑seok acted this way. He is one pretentious fellow and his pride was seriously hurt. He just couldn't let her go.
I'm not Korean so I couldn't know the subtleties of the words chosen in each dialog. I didn't have any choice but to read english subtitles. But what Jeong-in's father said to all her daughters was awful. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I kept thinking, are they really like this in south Korea?
The music was fine. Although repetitive, it fit well with the mood and kept the story going. The lyrics also helped understand what each character felt at some point.
This drama is one of the best I've watched.

In your comment, you claim you are a native korean.
Could you shed some light on korean culture?
I'm from Canada so obviously, we have vary different culture.
Are all fathers like this? I can understand in european monarchy back in the 1400-1600, but today?
Being a single parent is no big deal in north america but in this drama, single parents are having it hard.
Don't get me wrong, I love a show that puts me in a different environment I'm used to. This drama put me right in a middle of korean culture. To be honest, I not sure if it reflects your reality or not. I'm intrigued.

To each their own. I know a few people who are "exactly" like some character in this drama. Also, I have a few Vietnamese and Korean friends and told me that show reflects pretty much how Korean culture is. If I want something superficial, I'll go watch Pretty Woman.

Review Hi Bye, Mama! Spoiler
Yes, you put it all into words perfectly!I'm glad Yuri got to hear Seowoo call her "mom" at least once, but it…
We are on the same page with this.

Gang Hwa platonic relationship with Min Jung was almost to painful to watch. He never, not once, held her in his arms. She cried out for him but he never budged. Even in their marriage’s photographs, they seemed distant. His marriage with Min Jung is just a convenience one more than anything else.

Yu Ri’s acknowledgment of not being the mother was shown when she cleaned her top desk of all the baby stuff. She even cleaned up the rest of her room later on. Her mother knew what was going on. There was also a big link to Christianity when Yu Ri and her mother ate together (in reference when Jesus had his last meal with his disciples before facing Ponce Pilate) as they knew they will be parting soon.
Even Yu Ri’s best friend tried to convinced her not to move on but she would have none of it. I think the main reason is Yu Ri knew she would never be Sea Woo’s “mother”. To me, that’s selfish and she used the “seeing ghosts” excuse and rallied everyone to her cause. It’s sad because she could’ve had a hole lot more.
Giving time, everything would’ve fallen into places if she stayed. For example, Sea Woo’s acknowledgment to Yu Ri being her biological mother at the end might have been a first step. That made me weep. Yu Ri should’ve stayed and embrace this chance. Trust Min Jung with Sea Woo and have another child with Gang Hwa instead of pushing him away all the time.

Without being the perfect ending, it would have made more sense.

Some might argue otherwise but these shows are not called K-Drama for nothing…hah

Review Hi Bye, Mama! Spoiler
I’m with you all the way.

Rarely a show has an impact on me the way this one did. The only one I remember was the death of Ned Stark in Game of Thrones, but that’s another thing.

Of all the characters in this show, Min Jung is my favorite one. She is well aware of her surroundings. She notices, observes and hears things a lot. An example, instinctively, she knew who Yu Ri’s mother was and allowed Sea Woo to play in the park every time she was there. Very thoughtful of her. I’m sure even Gang Hwa didn’t know this. I relate to her so much and I would’ve done the exact same thing. She seems cold but is quite the opposite. A shame we didn’t get to know her better.

I understand why Sea Woo calls Min Jung “mom”. It’s Min Jung who had the emotional bound with Sea Woo, not Yu Ri simply because she died giving birth. The show nailed it. In one episode, we saw Sea Woo playing with Yu Ri and yelled “mom” and even pushed her as soon as she saw Min Jung. Yu Ri understood what was going on. She’s just Sea Woo’s spawner while Min Jung is the mother.

Gang Hwa. What to say about him? It felt like he never passed the first stage of grief after 5 years. His biggest mistake was remarrying with Min Jung for all the wrong reasons. He might have liked and respected or even loved her, but was never in love like he was with Yu Ri. The show did tell us at one point but never explored that part. One thing is for sure, he surely needed Min Jung and still do. In the end, he should’ve stick with his initial mind set and say “no” to Yu Ri’s claim to move on. But that’s just me.

Yu Ri. I’m with you when you say her reasoning was weak. She met everyone she loved, one by one, and brought them to her reasoning. To me, it’s manipulative and very selfish. I remember this quote I heard in a move back in the 80s : “The needs of many out ways the needs of the few, or the one.”. Yu Ri did the exact opposite. In each episode, we saw how much she had an impact in everyone’s life (and I include the kindergarten’s workers and all other spirits) and she just brushed that away with the back of her hand. A shame. She decided to move up for Sea Woo’s sake? I don’t buy that. She could’ve stayed and help her deal with her sight. Don’t get me wrong, I love Yu Ri’s character. She’s very compassionate, thoughtful and outgoing but at the same time stubborn and selfish. Nobody’s perfect.

I might not agree with everything but overall, it’s an excellent show.
