1. Why do some people/sources call the crown prince Li Chengyu? (for example wiki addict). 2. You forgot some characters: - Empress Dowager of Qing (mother of the emperor) - appear in season 1 - The Empress (mother of crown prince) - appear in season 2 there are still some spaces in the table below the emperor, you can put there i think.
3. Characters that were Mentioned, but have never showed up yet: - Ye Zhong, the father of Ye Ling'er - Ku He, one of the 4 grandmasters, uncle of Bei Qi emperor - Si Gujian, one of the 4 grandmaster, from Dong Yin - Prince Jing, emperor's little brother who stay out of politics - Director of Division 2, 5, and 7 . let's hope all of them will appear in season 3.
4. Characters that were never mentioned at all: - Fan Ruoruo's mother - Mother of Lin Dabao dan Lin Gong, wife of prime minister, never mentioned - Sisi (This novel character was removed from the drama adaptation)
Is this more of a fan-made spin-off thing? I don't believe the writer was involved in this? At least I've finally…
yes, it is original script, not adapted from Zhou Munan's novel.
As for Jin Xuan, we didn't actually see him get killed, so we can only assume he is still alive regardless. just take it like Han in the Fast & Furious series, somehow they brought him back to life, even though there were scenes that seemed to confirm his death.
Questions .. so many question:1. I'm assuming WuXin retired as Sect Leader of TWT, but did he have to let YeZhiXin…
There are too many plot holes. For example, the Tianzhan sword can only be wielded by candidates for the future emperor, but Wei Gui can wield it even though he doesn't have royal blood.
Btw, the Tang Sect Elder's face looks familiar. Has he appeared in other TBOY series before?
I checked Wikipedia and saw that Hu Jinsi died in 948, but in the drama, he died around 959. That’s a pretty big gap, I’m not sure why the producers decided to extend his life like that
If only they made a second season that told the story from the perspective of the other kingdoms during the same era (besides Wuyue, Southern Tang, and the Central Plain dynasties).
guys i finished the first episode and there's already a hectic amount of intrigue and characters already (...and…
At the end of the day, you know your own preferences best. Since this drama is based on real events, it leans much more toward history than fiction. Do you enjoy exploring history? Many people aren't familiar with this specific era (The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms) because it’s rarely adapted for the screen.
Usually, when I watch this, I keep a few tabs open—Google, Wikipedia, MDL, Baidu, and ChatGPT. If you don't mind pausing and rewatching scenes to look things up (every episode), and you truly love Chinese history, you’ll enjoy it. Just try to keep track of the key players; it’s impossible to remember all hundred-plus characters.
sorry, i just checked again, yes you are right, the scene you mentioned was after the scene that i said. I really Forgot. but because the scene didnt tell if Jin Xuan was really killed or not, then we can only assume that he is alive.
Jin Xuan was still seen in the final episode of TBOY. The late emperor told Xiao Si that he would spare him, but on the condition that after his death, the eunuch would guard his tomb for the rest of his life.
There were numerous zhou zhou locations, including Jianzhou, Suzhou, Fuzhou, Jingzhou, Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Dingzhou, Muzhou, Runzhou, Taizhou, Yangzhou, Huzhou, Laizhou, Shenzhou, Yuezhou, Mingzhou, and many others.
I am not an expert, so perhaps a historical geography specialist could explain each location in detail or start a new thread regarding these territories.
For example: -Jinling: Capital of the Southern Tang Kingdom. dont know which modern city is Jinling. -Hangzhou: Capital of the Wuyue Kingdom. -Bianliang (modern-day Kaifeng): Capital of all five dynasties during this era. -Laizhou: A port city destined to become a new trade route between Wuyue and Later Han. -Muzhou: The city governed by the Eighth Prince of Wuyue. -Jinyang: The military base of Liu Zhiyuan’s army. -Hebei & Hedong: Frontline cities defending against the Liao invasion. -Yexia: Under the jurisdiction of Lord Du Zhongwei. -Fuzhou: Under the control of Li Renda. -etc.
I wonder why the third brother (Qian Hongyou, aka Sun Ben, aka the Third Prince) is sometimes called A-Zuo? It seems like only his family calls him that. But usually, family members or relatives use 'A + name,' 'Xiao + name,' or 'Name + er' (the latter maybe specifically during the Song Dynasty). By that logic, he should be called A Ben, Xiao Ben, or even Ben’er. Where does 'A Zuo' come from?
Who's wei gui? Is he connected to previous members? I'm currently watching ep 2
warning: spoiler...
Wei Gui suffers from amnesia, so he even dont know who himself, he only know that the Tianzhan sword is related to his past, so he is searching for the sword in hope he can remember something from his past or even regain his memory. Later, he got a glance of memory that he once met Xiao Se, the owner of the sword. That's all we know so far. So the trio Lead of this mini drama are all related to each Trio in TBOY.
Good or not is subjective. It all depends on your taste, what genres you're into, and what kind of stuff you like,…
then i am afraid not suitable for you. this drama has an intense Political Kingdom genre (also known as High-Level Politics). so it's about war and war, politic, invasion, the misery of the people, corruption, coup d'tetat, killing for power, how to manage soldiers/officials, manage government, ruling the country. the producer try to produce this drama based on real history as close as possible, so like the real history of ancient china, women were usually excluded from political affairs, not involve in politics. so this drama is for people who loves Chinese History, most people here when watching this drama, they also googling and browsing Wikipedia to know more about the history of the past of that era (5 dynasties & 10 kingdoms). It is said that the producer cast 350 actors, and I think it's true because in episode 1 alone, there are already 30+ character introductions (all based on real historical figures). if you like to watch The Longest Day in Chang'An, The Secret of Three Kingdoms, The Advisors Alliance, Qin Empire series, Ming Dynasty, then go for it, if you dont like those kind of genre/drama, or even never watch it, then i wont recommend.

something happened to 9th prince when he got high fever, in your opinion,, who would be next in line for succession?

Ye Zhi Xin = none

Zhao Han Qi (赵晗琪) as Zhuang Niang
i wonder who are these 2 characters?
