there are 5 parts in this drama, 4 spin-off, and 1 is the main story (about guo jing & huang rong). the first part which tell the story of ouyang feng and huang yaoshi is never been mentioned even in the novel at all, so it is totally spin-off. the 2nd, 3rd, 4th part are mentioned briefly a few paragraph in novel, with that information, the producers improvise the story themselves. for example: the 2nd parts which tell the story of southern emperor and hong qigong, it's about Yinggu who is the concubine of Dali kingdom, but cheating with zhou botong, and later the hatred arises after the emperor duan refuse to save baby. emperor duan later feel guilty, nearly suicide, but after think that no one can stop Ouyang Feng after his death, then he is planning to inherit his martial skill to Hong Qigong. the 3rd part is about The Quadruple Love in peach blossom island, among Huang Yaoshi, Mei Chaofeng, Qu Lingfeng, and Chen Xuanfeng.
