I'm on ep 5 and Shion disgusts me. He's sneaky and SUPER manipulative. He doesn't care about the FL at all. All he cares about is breaking them up. He's befriending her to get to close to her to see what will work to get her to leave the ML. First he gets her alone, then he pretends to want to be with her, when he realizes that isn't going to work he dupes her into telling him the truth about their contract relationship (she's the f*ing idiot that fell for his trick - I'm so pissed about that) then he immediately uses that information to try to convince her she's setting herself up for a life of unhappiness. He's not doing any of this because he cares for her. He's met her TWICE. Yet he's spending this entire third meeting buddying up to her AND trying to split them up with every breath. Do you really think the ML's best friend is the person who should be having these conversations with her? It's inappropriate to say the least and he's being a shitty ass friend. That's the kind of person you want the FL to end up with?

I get that much more will likely happen which may be why you want them to end up together but what I've seen of that Shion guy in just such a short time really disgusts me. The way he pretends to be looking out for her and being kind and caring is the most sickening part of it. He doesn't care about her. This entire dialogue and time they are spending together is for the sole purpose of him trying to split them up.

Then he wraps that up with purposely hitting on HIS BEST FRIEND'S WOMAN all over again. Whether they are in a contractual relationship or not they are in a damn relationship and that's his best friend. You don't go behind your best friend's back and try to get his girl to break up with him, worse yet try to get her to be with you. THAT is who you want the FL to end up with???

I'm on ep 5 and so far the only things I've seen from the ML's best friend is him manipulating the the FL by pretending to care and look out for her. He's bonding with her but trying multiple ways to get her to split up with the ML. He's EXTREMELY manipulative and very, very good at it. There's no way he's as close to her as he is pretending to be, not after meeting her only twice and his method of calling her out without the ML present - pretending to want to discuss wedding plans - was also manipulative. He wanted her alone to feel her out and to figure out what method would work on her to leave his friend. First it was the appalling proposition that she be with him instead - I bet if she went along with it he wouldn't have said he was just joking. Then he duped the idiot - and yes, she's a f*ing idiot - into telling her about the contractual relationship. Then he proceeded to pretend he was looking out for her best interest by pointing out she'd be giving up on love in her future. If y'all can't see that's him just trying to coerce her into breaking up with the ML y'all are blind. No offense to you. Just saying you aren't seeing what's actually happening. He's not being a friend.

Maybe later on he does actually start caring about her but what I've seen of him since the end of ep 4 and on into ep 5 makes me not like him at all. He can't get the ML to break up with her (I'm guessing he's in agreement with the ML's parents but I realize I may be wrong) so he's gotten the FL alone to convince her to be the one to leave. Any other drama y'all would see that as shitty behavior but he's doing it so sneakily here that even some of you watching aren't catching on to what's happening.

Plus every single thing the best friend is doing is trying to disuade her from going forward with the 'marriage':
First he pretends to hit on her, asking her to choose him.
Then he tries to get her to see that she's giving up on love by choosing this kind of relationship. The way he does everything is EXTREMELY manipulative. He's not saying these things because he cares about her, he's only met her twice before. They aren't close. He clearly has ulterior motives AND he's friends with the ML's dad.

The level of stupidity the FL showed when she let it slip the the ML's best friend that they were in a contract relationship pissed me off so badly that I don't even want to bother finish watching this. Like that's how fucking stupid I think she was. The ML LITERALLY TOLD HER to be careful and not let the guy know and that he's very insightful so be very careful around him. So why TF would she believe that the ML suddenly upped and told him about their contract. Without mentioning it to her no less. How f*ing stupid can you be!

This after he just showed how much he was testing her by "pretending" to try to steal her. The man asked her out alone - by pretending to want to discuss wedding plans with his best friend mind you - then "fakes" hitting on you, then suddenly says of course the ML told him about the fake contract. You're just gonna continue believing everything the man says?

Nah, that right there was enough to make me not interested in this anymore. Seriously, I'm dropping it.

Adding to this (bearing in mind that I haven't even started this yet) but, since when does a BOSS have to accept his WORKERS for who they are??? LOL! He's the boss. In the workplace his views go. If you don't like his values you leave and find a job elsewhere which matches yours. That's LITERALLY a key aspect of an interview process - both parties make sure they assess and understand whether or not their values align.

Don't know what the heck that original commentor was talking about. LOL!

I can definitely agree with that sentiment.

I haven't started this yet but I saw this comment and wanted to share a different viewpoint - even though I do fully understand and agree with where you're coming from, so much so that I'll be on the lookout for this once I get to this episode and thank you for commenting on it.

As a person who's lost a parent though, the truth is , even when you're told they're terminal and nothing more can be done you hang on to any thread of hope that there's some miracle treatment that can save them. I have no clue what his mother's illness is or anything like that so believe me when I say I know I may be way off with what was actually happening in the drama but, what I'm saying that generally we throw everything into finding a way to save them, even when everyone else has given up hope, because we're praying for that miracle.

Have you tried watching it on viki? I'm waiting for it to finish airing before I start it but viki's subs are usually really good so I'm hoping they don't let me down with this drama.

Me too! I'm floored by how much people disliked it.

This was my first time watching it so I think I get what you mean about seeing new things the second time you watched it. It happens often for me too, especially with these kinds of more intricate romances, and I can actually see a lot of what you're saying already now that I think back on it. What I typed was my immediate, raw first reaction as I was watching it for the first time, without the foresight of their future interactions and growth to taper my responses to what I was seeing.

Also the false alarm about her death was a trick the show used at the end of the episode for dramatic effect. It clearly had nothing to do with their reconciliation once they showed the next episode. That's obvious. I posted about that elsewhere in the comments, clarifying that they did NOT use that as a catalyst.

I get that, but by 30 she has life experience. She's had lots of opportunities to observe others around her in their relationships. She's not living in a bubble.

I'm well past my 30s so of course I've seen adults have inexperience in their 1st relationships but when they enter one at a later age, while it IS an adjustment for them, they usually have a STRONGER understanding of the most basic aspects of being a good partner in a relationship. The way HE approaches it is actually MORE accurate for their ages. Of course there are lots of exceptions. This FL would be one of those exceptions and just like someone like that would drive me crazy in real life, she drove me crazy here. It's as simple as that.

Ooooh! All the complaints about this FL already in this drama and it's all stuff I would have issues with too and cannot stand. This doesn't bode well. Not sure this is a drama for me. I'm really glad you posted this!

Oh hell. I haven't started this yet but your comments are very telling. This all sounds like stuff I'd have a problem with too! Hopefully it gets better.

Okay so I finally made it all the way to when they reconciled in the final episode and they show the ML finally getting through to the FL about where she went wrong and the mistakes she made. This is supposed to be a mature 30 year old but he has to teach her the most basic things about respecting and trusting one another in a relationship, and working together towards their goals. smh

I'm glad they at least made it so the ML helped her understand in the end. I can accept that.

I've also seen comments that she's mature...WHAT?!?!
She's literally one of the most IMMATURE 30 year olds I've ever seen! EXTREMELY IMMATURE. She's also very spoiled.

The FL's apologies are the most insincere ever and when the ML tells her that, each time, she resorts to playing the victim in the situation further adding insult to injury. All because he won't automatically forgive her simply because she says the word, "I'm sorry", with no actual remorse or acknowledgement of her wrongdoings. That just means she'll continue to do hurtful things and expect to be forgiven again each time, which is exactly what happens in the drama.

I see people commenting and saying that she's not that bad because she apologizes promptly. If someone hurts you tremendously then says, oh did I hurt you I guess I'm sorry, how would you feel? If they then went on to say, "well I said I'm sorry I don't get why you're still griping about it", how would you feel then? That's exactly what her behavior has been towards the ML, and the mistakes she's made are huge ones. In fact, each time she even goes one level further and starts acting like he's being unreasonable to the point that he's now hurting her feelings so he should be the one apologizing to her!

OMG AGAIN! On EP 20 and here she goes AGAIN with this "I apologized already why does he need to drag this out and be so petty." How insincere can you be?! It shows EXACTLY what I said the last time she did this shit, she won't stop doing stuff like this because she doesn't actually feel remorse and knows she can just get him to take her back. That's a really shitty way to treat someone you love.
