I believe that was always the go from the start and I think xu xiao might’ve played a part in it looking at how every single place XFN went he was provided clues or answers to his mothers death…perhaps XFN was aware of xu xiao and his plans and made a few tweaks to it such as helping jiang ni and allying himself with the xuanyuan family and what not
This drama is nothing less than a 10/10 omfg….might be the best in its genre so far. I could go and talk about how profound every single aspect is especially li chun gangs technique and how specifically it’s linked with the character development of himself and XFN and also the world building. Like this is really amongst the peak of fantasy for me now and it truly deserves to be so. And if the author Anton Chekhov has a Chekhov gun, this is a checkhovs arsenal. Meticulous planning to grand reveals that don’t just feel like simple exposition is just perfect. The acting of course is out of this world

It is so rare for a deaths to leaving a gaping hole emotionally whenever it comes to cdramas cause whenever a character is killed off it’s usually after their abrupt introduction but SSS manages to really give an emotional blow robbed of any surprises I am amazed. Writing aside too the actors are soo superb in playing their roles it’s baffling . This might perhaps be the best cdrama I’ve ever watched
Plot seems contrived whenever XFN escapes a situation but then when they play the memories and things like that it’s more so checkovs gun type of writing rather than contrived plot…absolute goodness right here
I don’t see the problem people have with jiang ni…She’s by far my fav character after Lao huang and it’s incredible how her character slowly unfolds….she perfectly balances out the kinda altruistic nature of fengniang …and also since fengniangs journey is probably going to be one where he looses everything he has, jiang ni would balance that out since she knows how that feels either by gaining everything back by learning from fengniang and believing there’s hope for her or she would help him face it all and they’ll both grow together
I should add that jiang ni’s tsundere like attitude is completely normal and her pouts are cute

Wouldn't necessarily says it's excused more that it's a convenient ploy that forces song hwa to confront her emotions and make her self vulnerable....and a convenient ploy because they had no way to go around doing that. they wrote themselves into a block and had to do that
