yes I have seen that most of them are Chinese, I guess I have been out of the loop for a while. I thought they were banned with major consequences to actors and producers unless very heavily censored. How are they being made and what of the actors?

Is it me or is there a rise in I don't know how to call it, psychopathic? sociopathic? male leads in male love romance ,where by obsession is a key factor driving there "love".
Male leads with all and I mean all of the red flags.
I usually cycle through watching drama genres, I watch a certain genre then switch to another one then another one, and I haven't watched male love romances in a while, and now the high rated ones have a I don't know what to say other than call them psychotic make leads. So here I am wondering is there a shift? or is that I haven't found romances with green flags male leads?

Glad for all the ones who liked and loved this, I really am but if you did don't continue reading this comment.
All I could think about while watching this was, this was actually made? someone actually sat down, found investors, actors and a production company for this to be made? I mean there has to be a limit to the believability of psychosis right? even stupidity has to have a limit? I mean you had been with him 11 yrs, 11 yrs and did nothing, how pure you were that you were able to chase out your opponent and for 7 years watched your trophy in cabinet. I mean he is yours forever, no one will want him, I mean it did happen once I'm sure it would never happen again so why on earth should you make the first move?
And the other was "chased out" for 7 years ? did he get a PhD where he went to study? 7 yrs and not an ounce of maturity? or even a 'huh maybe that contract was kind of stupid? why would I pretend to date another person Infront of the person I like? what would I get from it? '
And finally everyone is in love with Daon? why? what was actually interesting about him? And no a rabbit had more personality than him, if I could compare Daon is a slug, slow boring and completely reactionary, they just told us how wonderful he was, and my reaction was like assistant manager Ju." Him?"

characters who are not entirely stupid, good plot and pacing and actual consequences for action? oh my I love this. And the actors, I felt like I was watching people and not caricatures of characters.

you as a former cop find out that your boss might be involved in the murder of a person and all you have to say is "I'm disappointed in you?"Then. proceed to get jealous of your boss's suga daddy? The fck?
This is why watching Thai dramas is so irritating, you get to see where they wanted to go, and it's a very nice place, but they just can't seem to commit to it. this should have a been a very dark and serious drama theme wise, it's a revenge drama for crying out loud. but what the fck is this? why is a revenge drama bland? where is the tension? the suspense? the aunt called pheem a villain? what villainous thing had he done?
And no I don't put all the blame on the actors the writers and directors do play an integral part in bringing out a character and a believable story. so yeah another one for the wasted potential list.

please don't tell me this has a happy ending for hua yong, please tell me no.
Ok shao you is an emotionally unavailable arrogant quick tempered jerk, but you know exactly what your getting your self into when you start something with him and he did not deserve what emotional torture hua yong has done to him. like Noo, I mean no.
No matter what Hua yong has done for shao you and his father, hua yong that manipulative narcissistic selfish emotionally torturing psycho deserves nothing. Props and congrats to the actor who played him I hated the character.
'I Love him and want him no matter what even if it means hurting and potentially traumatising him' what sort of logic is that?
I'd never thought Id say this, but after his yong I'm all for characters pestering their crush until they give in and date them.'

I watched this while it was airing, can't believe it's been 4 years. but recently got a translation of the book, and I can say I was surprised. usually they remove scenes from books for the drama, but here I can see they added, a lot. like damn non of those intimate scenes where in the book.

This is a solid watch. when I started watching it I hadn't read the book it was based on, but I dove right in,…
my only complain would be the coworkers gossiping scene. And the asking the top and bottom, I know it happens in real life but in the drama I would have wished for a little more of a reprimand and they really shouldn't have given and answer. even if implied. it's really invasive and originally that question stems from the homophobic so who's the man and who's the woman. it's really non of anyones business, it's like asking a get couple so what's your position during sex. Absolutely inappropriate.
That was added in the drama not in the book.

This is a solid watch. when I started watching it I hadn't read the book it was based on, but I dove right in, I mean it's priest. even if the butcher it to high heaven they would have a good foundation in a priest story. And I wasn't disappointed. like oh my it was too short. I wanted more of them.
Now after finishing reading the novel there is so much left out and changed from the book, but it doesn't detract from the drama. If they wanted to include everything 12 episodes is less than enough and it would have been a lot lot darker.
So I loved this so much my only complain will be listed out in a spoiler comment

this should be renamed as Hua house for mistreated royals and nobles. And of all the sisters the daughter of the concubine Win is so badass. talk about cunning. That house would have been hell if she had decided to unleash it against the Hua family.
kyoichi is the perfect lover in that he is attentive, seemingly kind, and seems to care about hurting his lovers except he is the one hurting his lover because of his infidelity. He must be doing something right because all these lover just can't seam to let go of him, wanting him no matter what while he corners himself in relationships takes them for granted and keeps dreaming of something/someone else. He can't seam to be satisfied with what he has. I'm wondering if he is a compulsive cheater.
Wataru is the ultimate loyal lover who has been in love with the same person for more than 8 years but his love is bordering on obsession. Doing everything he can, coercion, trying to break up his relationship in uni just to have the love of his life who on multiple occasions has rejected him.
Oh they were toxic on soo many levels, with their own screwed versions of love that seemed right to them.
I don't think I was meant to like any of the characters in this, none of them made me want to root for them, well maybe tamaki she was innocent in all of this, may she learns a lesson on life and men.
But I loved how it ended

There was something missing, I wouldn't go as to call it boring, but I wouy call it luckluster? or is it too little plot to be stretched over 6 episodes?
As always the actors gave their all, and the cinematography was superb. But I can't help thinking if this would have been better as a 2 HR movie?

This might be random, but can someone make an article and discussion about the weird bandwagon hate of some kdrama…
oh there is that phenomenon going on? I can be called a veteran kdrama fan as it's entering almost 15 years since I started watching k dramas and I have seen that shift into more darker themes. And the thing is Korea has made media like that for a while but you would mostly see it in movies or in the rare OCN productions. Maybe because I am more a fan of darker themes so I think it's great. And it's not like they are not making the sweet, fluffy light hearted "pure" what ever that means dramas they are those in spades.
What I'm wondering is if they had always wanted to made darker themes dramas but they were harder to get green lit in k broadcasting companies but now with Netflix and other streaming platforms they can get green lit more easier?
All in all personally a wonderful change and me wanting more.

the first 3 episodes almost made me want to drop this, and no it's not because of the death of bulldozer, but everything leading up to it seamed so nonsensical I wanted to scream. and the reveal of how he died was just........ but I kept on watching and I clocked the mastermind the moment his face was shown on screen. All in all I watched till the end and I'm glad. it was entertaining, but personally not as good as season one, still worth I watch.

even though you know they are not going to end up together you still have this hope that it will work out. And as he goes more into her past her fate is set in stone, and the irony of him being the reason her fate is sealed. It's a really good drama, even I who hate sad endings and try to avoid them as much as I can, found myself drawn into their love, their struggle of being from two different time doomed to separated.
This somehow reminded me of the book 'the time travelers wife', I even forgot the ending of that book since I read it so long ago and I guess the scene that reminded me of it was them meeting him middle aged and her a girl.
