On 609 Bedtime Story Feb 12, 2023
I have watched this till episode six and I am reeeeaaally considering if I should continue watching it. The biggest reason would. be I find it boring. How could you make a parallel world traveling to save a person series boring but the managed. And I'm getting flashbacks to vice versa. though this is about better but not by much.

Zhang RuoYun. The projects he chooses and the characters he portrays....I am just left in awe actually. Non of his characters are the same, like in this one his manner of speech, his walk everything. He is good. Soo good.

after a couple of months from c dramas what got me back was blood of youth and luckily found this one. I have been hearing of Jing Bo Ran but haven't chanced upon his drama yet. But so far consider my self charmed. I really did not want to hate lan Jue.
the thing that kind of surprised me was the episodes seamed short for a detective drama I got to understand later why that might have been. Personally though I might curse at the censors at the scenes we might not be able to see which is akin to strangulation of artistic vision, but as along as it doesn't greatly hinder the flow and the pacing of the story which I might say the production team has done their best. I'm happy that we are able to see this.

I fell in love with this drama it's been a while since I found one made me feel this way. Even the supporting characters get story lines and get to shine and the best scene personally is in ep 34. It had me at the edge of my and it wasn't even an action scene
On The Blood of Youth Jan 30, 2023
I hadn't watched a cdrama since finishing love like the Galaxy. Nothing seamed to interest me. Until this. the only good thing of not starting it before is that I have lots of episodes to binge watch.

so ik it's not healthy but this and msp have become a major emotional crutch after a long week, for me and I'm…
I'm looking forward to Fridays these days because of these two dramas.

Yes, everyone is brought up differently, everyone needs a different time to accept feelings. This is well shown…
Not just brought up different but even in the same house people still turn out different. A personal example would be in my family. I was the obedient smart kid that loved books and one of my sisters was the the troubled kid who went shop lifting, run away from home an really couldn't study well. She was far from obidient. We lived in the same house with the same parents.
So I guess that's why this episode hit so close and I defended Tim especially at how much love she has shown her children and how hard she is trying for them. And the fact that she is a single mother is a whole other level of stigma associated with that.

Title I Will Knock You Spoiler
During this episode I was thinking how this campy, fun comedy became such a heart felt series about familial love, raising a seemingly troublesome child, community, friendship, youth and growth. And until the before the last scene I was thinking oh they are going to overcame the disapproving parents But then the last scene happen and the first thought that came into my head was oh you stupid child.
In the comments people are saying that Thi never owned up to his feelings for Noey but you have to remember that Thi is in uni and not just starting it he is finishing it and Noey is still in highschool. Every time he thinks of his feelings for Noey he pulls himself back. Added to the fact that he is timid especially Infront of seamingly powerful figures as seen in the begginig of the series but with the introduction of his his overprotective parents, just how much did he really go after what he wanted. and what if what he wanted was the high school kid that he it tutoring someone who he isn't supposed to want?
Now on to thi's parents. I know they seam like the bad guys for what they said to Noey's mom. And yes that was uncalled for. Even more so because when we know Noey when have seen his growth how hard he is trying and just how good of a heart he has. They don't know him so how dare they? But this is what happens in society. How many of us, our cousins, our friends have been told to stay away from the bad kid, the troubled kid how he won't have a good future so stay away from him. do they know that kid? do they know what that kid is going through? what his life is like? his hopes and dreams? what if all that he needed was someone to understand him, believe him and be there for him? just a little positive influence and not giving up on him. That yes they are good kids but not all of them are the same even in the same family and they shouldn't be. But some just need a bit more patience, care and love.
Thi's parents berating Noey's mom at how did she raised her son while completely ignoring Nidnhoi who is smart and we'll adjusted. She was doing her best for her children and loves them dearly. They were lucky to have a child who was smart and obedient they had their work cut out for them, just a bit of guidance was all. But we have seen multiple times how high and mighty these parents are while looking down in disdain at parents with bad kids. And even more so single mother.
I didn't think my comment would be this long but that just goes to show just how good of a series this is. The social commentary weaved in this is just so well done. I never expected to like it as much as I have. surely a black horse in bl dramas.
On Cutie Pie 2 You Jan 27, 2023
finally it's over. Did this need to be 4 ep? No absolutely not. episode 1 should have been the doubts and episod 2 the wedding. finished.down to my rant. Now you are telling me that they planned the wedding without involving their parents? that they had to tell them what type of wedding they were having at the wedding? they couldn't even write in a phone call? or written in that they talked to them off screen? It's a wedding that the grand father had arranged and the parents weren't even involved? they were thrown in there like an afterthought. I really don't know what to say run time for this was about 200min, almost 3 and a half hrs. enough time to make a well paced epic movie with complete character archs. And what they did with the time was to give us this? But then again we did spend 10ep just telling 1 character's story. All the rest were just card board cut outs. And nothing has changed I guess. Can somebody save them? please? like a script for them to develop some acting muscles? they really do seam talented atleast those that I have seen in other works. But you wouldn't know that from this.I have seen trailers for their other series coming this year but if this is the kick coming next. I really am not looking forward to the writing that coming but I hope I am proven wrong.

The comment in this page are hilarious. That confession was overly long and so dramatic. Even if a part of my brain was trying to rationalize that they are 2 people who have trouble expressing themselves and the other part kept saying 'but come on a whole 20 min for one. scene that could have ended in the last episode?'
I like tension, what drew me in the first few episodes was the tension btn them but as the story progressed and their relationship grew the tension puffed and disappeared into thin air. On the one side I love. that the relationship grew they got to talk more and be more vulnerable, but why are the intimate scenes so reserved as if they have just met and are afraid of each other? they did it in the uni club locker room an now you telling me they can't kiss or lick the ketchup away from his boyfriend lips? on valentine?
The drama is extremely stretched out. 8 episodes would have been enough for the plot. but to bloat it out they added 2 more ships that really aren't that well written. And oh how I wanted more of Manow and Pruek.

your comment is beautiful how you explain it, you just wrote the things going on in my mind how it deals with…
humans are. we are so simple and yet so complex and to be able to capture that and portray it is just so fascinating. And as I said this drama can be read very differently by another person, or see and pick up things that due to their circumstances, history and background I was not able to pick up.
On Never Let Me Go Jan 11, 2023
Title Never Let Me Go Spoiler
I like this drama. It's a real solid. the cinematography is wonderful, the production value is good. The characters are somehow well written, with motivation and wants and go through growth atleast the main characters who take up most of the screen time. And the chemistry, this bubbling thing between them that the actors can portray that we the audience can feel across the screen. Even before the kiss that we are going to "define the relationship" category the tension was there.
I really liked how the set up and pay of every episode that starts with the title. In episode 1, father we dealt with Nueng loss o his father. ep 2 of him finding friends that he can trust considering his life has been up ended by his father's death. ep 3 was explanatory finding his enemy who was friend turned enemy still as a consequence of his father's death.
ep4 dealt with their definition of love, Nuengdiao opening his heart to someone other than the one he really wants. but as he said it was good to be wanted. We also get a bit of foreshadowing about them with the weaver girls tale.
Now ep5, with the title I had flashback to the first episode and was hoping that the mother doesn't get shot. but with the conversation they had later dinner that suspicion grew. loved how they started the conversation with the food and showed a bit of Nuengdiao character.
And then we reach the mother's shooting and here in comes my I'm gonna call nit pick. WHERE WERE THE GUARDS? I'm really wondering if it was a budgeting issue or a writing issue. Because come on, The father was killed, enough to make Tanya hire a body guard for her son at all time but she didn't tell chanon to increase body guards at home? we only saw one guard died at the gate but they should have been more. It's been implied that the father had origins in the underworld so we're are the subordinates? are you telling me he cut them when he became legal? that doesn't seam likely. And how were the gun man able to shoot at the guard at the door and no one at the house heard? guns are damn loud.
Now palm. he is in essence Nuengdiao whipping boy. He gets punished for all the trouble happening to him even the trouble courses buy him. Nueng is the one who drank while knowing he is allergic, straights up humiliates him and starts a fight but he is the one who ended up with a broken arm and a scolding form chanon. I'm really starting to question if he is infact Palms father. cuz come on dude you son has a broken arm ask him about it for f sakes.
Palm seems timid, he has accepted his lot in life, more like a leaf following were the wind takes him. we haven't been told about his wants . we do know he is loyal, has a strong sense of responsibility, and is obidient to his father to a fault. And he does have a sense of respect and pride. But what I want to know is what did he go through to be that calm when he saw his father and boss being shot. He is a teen. he was more akin to a soldier. what shit did he see. or what did his father put him through?
I would really like to see his arc and his development.
fingers crossed that it continues to deliver, even though there are flaws here and there I am invested in their story.
I'm gonna edit this in that I don't care if Palm and Nueng tension is heavy enough to be cut by a sword and hot enough to melt it. I'm for te Magie, she is so good for him in that she treats him like a human. A person she helps him and challenges him and his beliefs.

Makio is a really compelling character I wanted more of his story.
On The Director Who Buys Me Dinner Jan 6, 2023
This is a mess.I know that with the time constraints the characters can't develop as well but the story telling in this just makes me want to scream. I see a scene and my mind goes this is stupid. eg they said that they were going to elope so I am sure they had agreed on a meeting place to do that so why on earth was Yudam stumbling in a forest looking for Dong baek?
And nothing is explain to satisfaction. How is Yu dam able to live for years? what is he? I thought with the flash back we were to know but it turns out he was human with a family? so what happened? so what happened? how did he get cursed? more important question what is the curse? and will them being together break it or accelerate it?
With the writing being so lacking the actors usually try to sell the story as best as they can but not in this one. the performances were lackluster as hell. I feel nothing at all. They don't make me care at all.

"ahh fxk" were the words that came out of my mouth while tears streamed my face at the ending of this. I always…
Meiko wanted a family, a family that loved her and she found it with her two best friends. She wanted that family to be together no matter what, but as much as she wanted to have their baby for their sake it was also for her selfishness as well. and what she did in the end courses them to separate. It took me a while to understand why she would lie to Makki and why maki would be so angry. then doing the math the difference between 8 and 13 weeks is 5 weeks. enough to know if your pregnant or not. Did she find out that the first time didn't work and slept with Eiji without Makki knowing? if that was the case then yes I would be more understandable why he reacted that way and why Eiji felt he owed him an apology. And while this was happening I was wondering doesn't Japan have IVF treatment? or is it that it's not accessable? what is the societal view on it? of they would have removed the physicality of the act and maybe what happened wouldn't have? Makki, We don't get to know about his background, his family, why is he able to stay out late at night with no one caring, we are not even shown the inside of where he lives. We are shown his life but as a telling of someone else. Nor do we get his monologue, until the very end I was hoping to get Makki's story from his perspective, his voice but we didn't get it.Eiji, he is gay. The specifically told us hi is gay, can one just change that wholly after being married and having a child? I know that what all parents would wish for. The parents wanting to saddle their child with familial responsibility to cure his gayness. And with the portrayal in this drama it seams to have worked. And that got me wondering, one of the excuses they had of going against their son relationship is that he wouldn't have children, how were the certain that he would be able to have children? what if he was infertile? what would they do then?I was hoping until the end that they would decide on a devorce. And them ending up as friends taking care of the child.

"ahh fxk" were the words that came out of my mouth while tears streamed my face at the ending of this. I always get emotional when watching dramas movies like this and as much as I love watching them I tend to stay away from them cuz of how they mess me up emotionally.
The acting was superb, there was this tension I always felt from episode 4 onwards. Like I knew something was going to happen and I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The word that comes when describing this show is campy. It's so over the top and fun.
I love the colors, Noey's outfits and oh his self confidence is of the roof.
It's something fun to watch but I know it might not be for everyone.
