7 episode in and yes, they dont disappoint on the messy messy friendship circle. Even though we dint get the everyone kissing everybody that I guess will have to lie on the iconic lands of onlyfriends S1. there is is no shortage of the amount of chaos, heart break, bad decisions and even worse actions of some of our characters. The performances are chefs kiss with earth mix leasing the charge.
This is a gem And I guess it came out when I was on a break from bl dramas. I loved the subtlety of the story…
I just want to ask one question, do korean uni students really drink that much? and do all of them have part time jobs or rich family to be able to afford that or is it coming out of the student loans?
This is a gem And I guess it came out when I was on a break from bl dramas. I loved the subtlety of the story of how it was protrayed and oh my the tension like it qas stronger than garavity pulling you in. I ended up binge watching this in one sitting which is very rare for me these days.
first of I liked the strory especially the life times. the 16th c arc? is there a well produced drama set in that period I would love to watch it. Or a well peoduced one about thai mythology ? Now, on to what made this series a chore to go through, the pacing. It was soo slooooow. It was playing at 1.5x and I still had to.fast.it.foward. It did not need to be as long as it was. the acting. I am sure they tried their best but it did not deliver. especially the main leads, I just couldn't feel it, I couldn't feel them. And it's such a bummer cuz its a story of love and fate and perseverance and longing and it felt like there was a layer of insulation preventing those feeling from reaching me. I know what I was supposed to get but every time I tried to catch them I couldn't. Hoping that their next project, if they decide to act as apair will be able to show case their talents.
this was hilarious, and Pond was the icing on this cake. his delivery was chefs kiss. my only gripe would be the madia angle, it really didn't need to be there. they could have just made them a rich conglomerate family with alot of enemies. business is cut throat and they didn't even need to remove the kidnapping angle, the body guards nor the guns. so the mafia angle was not necessary, or is there no way to become filthy rich without being in the mafia?
the criticism I have is with the time jump. no way 25 years not a wrinkle, not a gray hair, it wold have been more belivable if they would have used older actors but I do belive that would have elianted a lot.of their target audience. so if they wanted to use the same actors then they should have jumped 10 years, 15 by stretching it with really good makeup. That beind said. I couldn't help but notice Armin everytime TD goes in for a kiss, my man had those lips open as a baby bird wanting to be fed. like go get your meal my man Im rooting for you. All in all not a bad watch.
just finished this yesterday and what can I say? This was superb. Chang yu and xie zheng were phenomenal. The entire cast, their stories were just so engaging, Qian Qian, and Qi Mins relationship like whatchig a train crash and you so fixated that you cant look way. The princess royal who wanting freedom and her brother a tragically cowardly and incompetent invidual who really wanted to be a ruler. And Oh how I loved the cinematography, each scene was a feast for the eyes. the costumes, they put a lot of effort in to that and I loved and appreciated it. What intrigued me from the story line was how there was no "good" faction in the court. in most similar dramas I had seen there was always a good faction to root for. each and every one was acting on selfish desire thinking they knew what was best for the country, but ultimately it was for their own survival. But the final episodes ask and somehow tries to redeem them "what is a minister to do when faced with a tyrant or puppet for a ruler?"
The message with neon lights so the people in the back can see is that the price of war is human lives, we got to know, and like the people of Linan a small town like many throughout the land and how their lives were nothing more than a strategy to rile up a general. Or how the civilian lives of Baxia and the dam workers was another strategy for the war.
The ending just felt abrupt to me. all on all a decent watch. I loved both leads. And I guess what O loved moat was how honest they were in their relationship. And I loved how Nakano just said what was in his head.
It was cute and overly dramatic the way falling in love in highschool seems like the end of the world. But all in all this was not for me. Is there a similar story line of life long friends in a stage where feeling change, but a mature version.
I am really considering dropping this. 6 episodes in and it has not captured my attention. That usually happens in the fisrt 2. So for this one im just going to put it up to not for me.
A PG version of a vampire paranaormal story. It did not need 10 episodes to tell the story it did. And can just shout out to anyone who can listen in drama land, being protected and naive Does Not Mean Childish. It irks me when actors, and the directors allow it to be portrayed like this. And I have seen Gawin in my favorite and not me. I know what he can bring to the table. And this was not it.
this show establishes a couple of things in the very first episode 1. The heroin is a stubborn dumb idiot. 2. There is a giant bloody plot hole with the first scenes of the show. 3. They take absurdity and dial it up to the max. 4. Do not expect logic its a switch of your brain of kind of watch. With all of the above this should not at all interest me one bit....... but it was a fun watch that had me enjoying the show with all the facepalms and the frustration. cuz from the very beginning it tells you what it is and what it isn't.
ok, what gives? I swear whats with the ratings? This was a real solid piece of work. Bai lu as Li pei yi was superb. An actual smart character who is flawed. Driven by the search of the truth that she would put her life on the line to find it . Wanting justice for the victims when the perpertrators are the ones in power. The hopelessness of the injustice and the trutht being buried again and a gain with the perpetrators being let go with a slap on the a wrist. The desperation and lengths victims especially those without power have to go to just to get a semblance of justice. And the women of the harem, and how their lives can change by a single whim of an emperors lust or disinterest. The story lines, the social commentary, the pacing of the drama, solid writing, solid directing, this was one solid piece of work and the actors delivered.
people have analyzed this a lot and it's been a treat reading that. In short if you are a person who likes a well written compelling story about a morally ambiguous character who tries to understand the human condition and what makes a person good? the wanting and striving for a second chance and redemption, and not letting the environment you grew up in dictate and determine how future should be. Then this is the show for you. plus you get to see the most elegant male lead in the most elaborate and stunningly beautiful costumes. just be ware, there is no overt romance in this. But that does not mean it's not a story about love.
what can I say, I'm putting this on hold, it's so slow and I feel like they are dragging out the arcs. scenes that add little to the plot, flash backs, I'm now watching at 1.5 speed and I feel like I'm missing nothing. mother thing is I have watched Arthur Chen since ever night, and O feel like he hasn't grown at all. How do I explain it, his face is blank. I know he is going for the cold and ruthless archetype but there are scenes where he should be emotional but he isn't delivering. I don't feel a thing.
A Yang yang direct Xianxia, with Yang yand as lead. This is just stunning. And Yang yang came a long way from marital universe that was a travesty, so here I am wondering how much of an actor's potential can be brought out by the director and the script.
ok, I haven't watched a Gmm TV production for 2 years or so, and Wow, haven't I been missing out. The cinematography, the story telling, the characters, the acting. I'm just 2 episodes in and I AM HOOKED! And I would have to say this is a level above. Gun has always been my favourite Thai actor and just...... I felt him, I felt Jira. I felt him like the friend that complained to me and I complained to them of the heaviness of getting through a day, of doing everything just to survive and having to wake up the next day and do the same thing over and over again. All I can say is thank you all who were involved in this. and thanks the actors for giving their all.
Stories whether written or visual with the main lead who has a villain origin story, questionable morals, is potentially…
I'm not really a dark romance kind of person, whether the couple is het or not. But I might watch depending on how compelling the characters are and how dark it is. Yes I would have to agree with you, this is relatively mild.
i think its partly bc china started making bls again and they love crazy red flag leads. i think the ratio between…
tell me about it. So I guess it's a push and pull between the censors and the entertainment industrys want to make dramas which it seams are very popular. so now I'm wondering if the censorship will just stop, or come back worse than before.

when was it made?
