And we have it again. just how bad is Thai police procedure for them to write it like this? My praise for the first 2 episodes evaporates into the abyss that is the writers illogical writing pen. The two main leads don't have to share each and every screen time together. But, but, I really want to continue watching why? becouse of Dew. His character is so intriguing and he plays him so well. He just keep you guessing. I mean he could be a psychotic vigilante and you wouldn't blame him if he was with all the shit he went through.
Episode 6 is nothing compared to Episode 9. Be ready because it’s going to be insane.
I know why he left, he should have done that before when he realized his feeling. But ok, he is human, lapse of judgment and all, he shouldn't have left without giving him some support, a referral to another dr at tge minimum. Cuz there is no way that he is 'cured'.
Episode 6 is nothing compared to Episode 9. Be ready because it’s going to be insane.
it doesn't matter if its consensual, professional ethics at best frowns.upon it at worst its a violation of a person trust. And doing that under the guise of therapy makes it even worse. Gao was already emotionally unstable and unhealthyly dependent on him, Fang Chi knows the clusterfuk of a mistake he did. And instead of owning up he abandons him. no referral to another doctor becouse his judgment had veen compromised just cold turkey. its mistaken after mistake. Going into the realm of medical malpractice.
it was going pretty well, like give me tension btn leads and I am sat. And kim yoon Sik has embodied the expresuon…
Now what made scream in frustration at the end of episode 5, you telling me that two grown men, can't subdue one woman, considering that one of them was a FORMER POLICEMAN. WTF? and that said policeman was the one who got injured, ok, ok, it would have been belivable if he had gotten injured in a scuffle but nooooo, this policeman, who i do belive get training disarming people, has a lapse of critical thinking and logical judgment went and stood in front of the assailant with his back turned to her. Now I am no professional but even I know that you don't turn your back on a person wielding a KNIFE! They wrote it, and shot it, and not one person in the team with desion making capabilities said mnh, this doesn't look right?
it was going pretty well, like give me tension btn leads and I am sat. And kim yoon Sik has embodied the expresuon of wanting to kill him or eat him. And that smirk. The heavy lifting it is doing chef's kiss.
The j drama I have seen its either fluffy sunshine and butterflies, or something like this. But after watching this, I am going to search for fluffy and sunshine for a while.
The two main characters have enough trauma to sink a ship and make sure it never surfaces again. its clinical in examining the darkest and filthiest parts of humanity and what people relagated to the fringes of society must endure to survive. It's the story of two broken people at their ends of their ropes finding each other and giving each other a reason to live. It is very dark, and haunting and brutal, and through out it all there is a massage of hope. A story about human resilience even in the face of the most harrowing of what humans can do to eachother. And yes I got to be happy with them of the end. And hope that this happiness carries into a new beginning.
The first half reeled you in, it was deceptively comforting, then the second half just gut punches you and watches you while you fall to your knees in sadness and despair and finally gives you a pat in the back filled with hope. its an emotional rollercoaster of a watch.
I belive tge development of this series when somewhat like this, personn 1 : I have got this idea for an omega verse series
person 2 : ok, what's the plot?
person 1 : (laugh) plot? oh no, no, no,no, we dont need that. we can just Frankenstein together elements of the abo world.
person 2 : ok, so we need actors to sell this. even if its a bad script people can watch for the acting.
person 1: oh, no. just find some who are handsome and pretty. as long as they can deliver lines.
person 2: well maybe the directing and editing can......
person 1: No you don't need any of that. look, so there is this this market of desperate fans who will watch anything and everything labeled ABO. its guaranteed. person 2: well why didn't you say so? how much do you need?
other than spare me your mercy, thai police /detective dramas I have seen have dropped the ball so many times at first I got angry then just reluctant ecceptance that is just how things are. So when you see some effort put into the story line and actors actually pulling their weight it comes as a surprise. Is it perfect, not by a long shot. Is it watchable yes thank the writers gods. And, hats of to Dew. He is another reason why you should watch this.
This, this, a first for me cuz I started and stoped 3 times before I could watch it all through. what I liked, the costumes. they were exquisite. really a feast for the eyes. the music was hauntingly beautiful. especially the ending ost. I also liked the themes of the drama, and the complex relationship between the characters. what was grating to me and made me drop it twice in the early episodes, the posing, the 30s entrances to an important scene( I checked) it sometimes felt like an amateurish stage play than a drama.
Most Chinese bls in recent years seem to say well my characters are in this fcked up situation but against all odds fall in 'love' (if you can call it that). while the story wants you to feel sorry for their 'love' hoping that against all odds they end up together. while I am here screaming my lungs out NO. I dont mind toxic relationships, what I do mind is dressing them up as 'romantic'.
There are dramas that you just have to watch it for what it is not what it could have been. And then there is this. did I watch till the end, yes. But are you going to feel your intelligence being insulted, also yes. I mean those are not plot holes, they are abysal craters on the dark side of the moon. The self awareness that your MC is an idiot does not excuse you dear writer. dear director and everyone who green lit this. It would have been more belivable if he was lobotomised.
'what sort of therapy is this, the writer is really bold?' my thoughts exactly. The amount of ethical violations going on here..... But suspension of disbelief is a wonderful thing cause here I am analyzing how the actors and there characters are both deep in. The actors bluring the line btn acting and reality. And their characters a line btn a dr and patient. I know this is not going to end well for both, but its like watching a train crash and I CANNOT LOOK AWAY.
while waiting for nanyang mystery to finish I decided to.just.jump.in amd watch this. I have watched the earlier lost tombs but the cliff hanger ending just made my blood boil. To the.point that I have ignored this.since.last year. but now watching it I have my fingers crossed. I like what I am seeing so far Its more cohesive, more comprehensive more grounded. plus the sets, oh they are amazing.
im on episode 16 and Id have to.say the production and editing team have a huge respect for fan editors. And I really have to give my hats off for them. They worked hard. All in all an enjoyable watch. Now all I have to do is wait for all the episodes to be out and binge watch the second half.
There is a lot to say about this movie, about abuse, the competency of police and what a man in a suit can get away with. How woman pain, abuse is not seen nor belived until it is laid bare for the whole world to see.
I tried but nope, everti e.I try to suspend my disbelief I.am just ripped right out. And no its not the ghosts, cgi or what not. that was well done actually. What I makes me want to.face palm is, what on earth is a civilian, suspect, then witness then spiritual adviser doing in the police office while cases are being discussed? WTF? tge production just went he is the main lead, we need more scenes of him, them together so put him there? If they wanted him im the room then they should have made him a police officer as well. And it would have been even more interesting, a detective who can see ghosts. it would have been better yhan this illogical mess.
I really enjoyed this. I was dragging my feet on watching it but surprised I binged watched it, and actually got a case of second ml syndrome. like that hasn't happened in a while, and hardly with cdramas. my only.gripe.is.with the ending. I don't knnow of they had run out of air time but it felt rushed, partially unresolved. but all in all a good watch if you enjoy compelling characters and coplex emotional entanglement.
There are very few that I watch while ongoing and this is one of them. I love dramas with supernatural or fantasy elements and this one got me seated. but lets be real I couldn't even get mad at that product placement. I mean fighting demons is hard work, a little lactusoy to build up your energy. Well if it pays to put more good work on the screens, who am I to criticize? but I really can't imagine the clashes btn the producers and directors sometimes.
