Yes, its not at the romantic stage yet. I don't think SDM will suddenly change her feelings for HJP that fast. I mean in the situation she is in , it's very difficult.

I mean it depends. Like there are weak second leads, where staying friends is ok, because the FL never leads on the SL, and the SL doesn't have much presence in the show.

But for shows where the difference of ML and SL are slim margins, I feel the writers should respect both fandoms by sending the SL as far away as possible to avoid the torture.

Having been the jilted second lead in real life, I tell you, the feeling of seeing the guy you like with another girl you know, is like a twisting knife...

I've seen this issue in MDL for a while.

I find that certain actors have obsessive fans. I was once in the The King Eternal Monarch comment section, and if you even say one bad thing about Lee Min Ho or his character Lee Gon, you would get quite a few fanboy/fangirls jumping on your throat.

I've since seen this with actors like Lee Jong Suk, and I guess NJH as well.

If you go to a comment section with actor/actress with less of a following, it's far less toxic.

We would probably see less toxicity if the ML was a lesser known star.

I purposely didn't include HJP and Grandma scenes, because I know they are going to be super sad. Especially the sad way Grandma looks at HJP.

Grandma really treated HJP like his son/grandson.

It's heartbreaking that young HJP decided to run away. Maybe if he stayed he and SDM would be married now and be successful together.

I think SDM asks NDS to write something, and she questions how come the handwriting is different and corners him about it.

HJP finds something, or some sign that makes him realize that he loves SDM, but can't do anything about it.

Grandma's eyesight worsen.

The dad of NDS finds out that his son has a police record of the assault and kicks him out. Due to disgrace.

HJP acts more irrational and mean to NDS and SDM. He continues to hide his feelings to SDM.

Not really a very professional level IMO. I think that HJP and SDM relationship is starting to get a little more personal. There's a comfort in their relationship that you just don't see in a regular mentor-mentee relationship.

If SDM chooses NDS, I hope HJP just quits as a mentor and move away from them, otherwise it would be torture.

When there is a love triangle, fans will often favor one side. So they attempt to justify why their side will be better.

It's normal. Its only when the fans devolve into mudslinging other fans that it falls out of hand. Criticizing the other side does not equate into toxicity but rather opening the forum to debate.

There is a difference between debate between two sides of the coin, and personal attacks against, aggression towards another side of the fandom.

In the show? there are indications all over the place, that SDM is at least curious about HJP, and HJP, even though he doesn't have any "history" with SDM has become an important man in her life.

But due to writer's bias, promotional material bias, and star power, it won't be happening.
