The son was already a traitor, and he wouldn't have stopped after this 1 attempt. I can't defend killing him completely,…
The King is 32 years old at one point, so for the Prince to keep his family away for 25 years for the reasons you stated above is a HUGE leap of logic. I just kind of wish they just left out the whole part of Prince Buyeong's family as it added absolutely nothing to the plot, except as FOiLS.

The supposed lag time is inconsistent, there are lag in some episodes, and instanteneous in others. Actually once the flute is whole, we see the flute with LG and TE disappear immediately after LR bloody hand clutches the whole flute, which further supports my theory about the blood being soaked into the flute, I mean that is one bloody hand, and both halves of the flute disappear when the bloody hand clutches it.

I think the reason these plot holes exist is because the show has not chosen to be consistent in it's supposed rules.

Look at any other american shows, when there isn't continuity, the fans really let the show have it.

And that's all i'm doing, trying to preserve some semblance of continuity in the show. But I realize it's a moot point, if the writers, and directors don't care about continuity, i should not either.

OMG I thought I had all figured it out up to episode 14 or 15 but got a little confused on 16 but thanks to all…
Don't forget the monarchy is abolished since no heirs.

And because of LG, Sejin also died. It's not discussed but it happened. Also LG father in ROK still died, which is weird since no LR, dad of ROK LG should be alive, but w/e plot hole. So that's two sad endings.

And also, LG and TE only need to hide until Lady Noh dies, then they can freely marry in Kingdom of Corea

The son was already a traitor, and he wouldn't have stopped after this 1 attempt. I can't defend killing him completely,…
We cannot assume what the son would or would not have done. And it's never explained why he was a traitor, maybe he was manipulated, coerced, maybe LR threatened his family. Who knows, all I can say is that having an absentee father in Prince Buyeong may explain why the son turned out the way he did. And having the Prince there coul have changed it.

The prince family being sent away was never really clearly explained. From what I watched, it seems to be for the familys safety, which didn't make sense when I saw it.

Yes, he didn't really adopt Shinjae, but he might as well have since he has no more children now. and SJ has no father.

No, the flute is made of wood, it would not need to be cut in half to soak up blood, that isn't how wood works. Ever seen hardwoord at work? soaks up water like crazy, and blood is no different.

I just chalk it up as ignoring a plot hole to move the plot along. It doesn't matter if the blood is from a cut of the glass or slash of the sword, blood is blood. And it's a plot hole that is just ignored.

Assuming that the flute at full power won't be affected by blood is just an assumption. There is no indication that is the case, as compared to the contrarian option.

The flute was complete for a long time before she tries to shoot the gun. So your telling me there is lag time? Like I said, plot holes.

Don't get me wrong, I know what the writer is trying to say, but poor writing, retrograding past sciences and logic, and inconsistent scenes all hamper what KES is trying to say.

I see a lot of confusion about Yoyo boy. So let me clear things up.

If you've watched Goblin, you will know that there is a Godlike being that is one tier above Kimshin. This god has the ability to inhabit many different bodies, but in this case he chooses goblins nephew. The sole purpose of this god is to be able to the create rules that governs the ML, or in the case of KTEM, it's just a convenient way to explain away logic, because a god decided, a Deus Ex Machina as one poster has said.

In KTEM, we see a similar usage here, not surprising, since it's the same writer.

Yoyo boy is in essence, the flute. and the flute is a combination of the Fates (Greek Mythology)/and a god. I believe the writers intention of creating yoyo boy is the following:

The flute is an inanimate object, incapable of human behavior; but in reality the flute is sentient. The writer KES, wanted to humanize the flute, and the best way to do that is to create a sort of human avatar to display what the flute is thinking. So emotions like, the flute is calling out, or the flute is crying becomes easier to grasp when we consider the yoyo boy to be the flute.

When the flute is cut in half, so did yoyo boys powers and they show this weakened state in a few instances. Like when yoyo boy saves TE with a knife, and he shows his incapability to move thru dimensions. What limited powers yoyo boy had as a child we do not know.

We see the full extent of Yoyo boys power when the flute is made whole, and yoyo boy regains his true adult form. From this point on, we see that he gains godlike powers to enter into the subconciousness of different people, control memories of people, and change the time zone world own rules. We also get a superclip of yoyo boy imprinted into scenes with other characters.

These superclip of yoyo boy is intended to show us the audience that yoyo boy is actively changing fate. And this is where the contradiction may come, because there is a reason, it's called fate, it's suppose to be inescapable. Thus enters the godlike aspect of yoyo boy, where he even has the power to change the fate of people. So for example when we see SJ walking and sees TE in the window with her judo uniform, that is show telling us yoyo boy made SJ walk and notice TE, thus creating that particular fate where they meet.

Yoyo boy and the flute, also represent the Fates in greek mythology. There are 3 aspects of the Fates, namely the one who allots the lenght of the red string, the one who spins the string, and the one who cuts it. KES simplifies it by making it one being, yoyo boy. But I believe she may not have read the whole mythology, as the Fates typically deal with death, thus the cutting of the string, means you die, but this is not the case in KTEM. Yoyo boys even says "shall I break it", in the aspect of KTEM breaking the strings of Fate is interpreted as rewriting someone's fate.

And this is why we get so many happy endings in EP 16, because yoyo boy is able to change all these fates, that is the extent of his power. And yoyo boy, who is seens as god, also doles out god's punishment on the villains of the show by giving the villains poor fates.

And the flute, which is a representation of the powers of yoyo boy, and thus a god, is in the hands of LG.

You see, LG and TE were never fated to be with each other, it was only thru the use of the flute that they were able to meet in the first place.

But because LG now controls the flute, he is able to, for two days every week, change his and TE supposed fate. In many ways, LG and TE are cheating fate.

LG also becomes the yoyo boy, in the sense that he has the power in his hand to change people's fate. Just like he change Shinjae's fate by saving his life with the baseball.

And that is the ending we see.

Generally I agree with you, except for the analisis of TE wordrobe choice - I think that TE preffer being confortable…
Fair enough. I only mention this because I have seen in real life, people dress a certain way to fit male dominated workforce/departments.

And your right, it may not have anything to do with insecurity.

There are two plot points in EP 16 that I dislike the most.

The first one is the needless death of Prince Buyeong's son. First off, the son is still in HS at this point, so essentially still a child, and LG and JY just kills him. I get it, they want to make sure the door isn't open for LR to escape, but guess what LR still escapes, making the sons' death a moot point. Plus reinforcing my thoughts that LG is a murderer.

Second off, if the future is changed, that means the prince would not need to send his family away, thus, he could have guided his son on the right path. Plus Sejin is dead now, since his father died in the past. But instead we see Prince Buyeong essentially adopt Shinjae. LG should man up and tell Buyeong it was him who ordered the son to die.

The second point, and i'm not sure if most people got this. In EP 15. LR says, you can't use my half of the flute since my blood has soaked it.

In ep 16, the flute is soaked in LR blood AGAIN. When I saw that, I was like, lol, how is KES going to write herself out of this one. Oh right, she just ignores it.

Logically since the blood of LR is soaking the flute, LG should not be able to use it at all and LG is suppose to be stuck in the past.

BONUS plot hole

TE gone working in time space world, lol!

I've made no secrets on my girl crush on the PM. So please allow me to rant here.

KTEM introduces to us two strong female characters. TE and the PM. TE loses her individuality at around the end of episode 1. And her helplessness and uselessness is further aggravated as she serves as a FOIL for LG for a majority of the episodes, and ramps up her uselessness in the last 3-4 episodes, culminating in a finale, that set back women's right at least 100 years.

The PM character on the other hand, was much more interesting for me. She was the complete opposite of TE's character in how they perceive themselves. Let me explain.

TE belonged to an all male violent crimes unit. And as is sometimes seen in real life, some women, when belonging to male dominated workforce, tend to dress the part. Wearing more masculine clothes and acting more gruff, and etc... all in the pursuit of being one of the guys. Best example of this would be Hilary Clinton, who is rarely seen not wearing a pantsuits.

PM on the other hand, was also surrounded by a predominantly male cabinet, serving a male king. Yet she chose to show her power, by her wit, political savvyness and etc... while still showing that beautiful, well dressed woman can be in position of power. She didn't feel the insecurity of TE in wanting to be one of the boys. She was striving to be successful at her job the best way she knew. One can argue, she gathered her strength from her beauty. When she felt she was wearing her heels, wearing make up, beautiful dresses, that is when she felt most confident facing the men of the extremely patriarchal Corea.

Anyway, I could go on and on, about all the merits of the PM, but instead i'll jump to EP 15.

In EP 15, the writer stopped murdering the PM's character to soften her ambition and greed and show us redeemable qualities we could root for.

So color me surprised when, instead of seeing some sort of redemption arc for the PM, we instead see her relegated as a sort of gag character. Plus it broke my heart that PM's mom seem to treat Luna as her real daughter and has ignored the PM in jail. Heartbreaking truly.

So Luna, who has done far worst than the PM gets a good ending, but the PM doesn't? I would have been happier in seeing the PM still be PM, and luna in jail, but still show that they became sisters, and the PM uses her connections to get luna out of jail. That would have made more sense.

They could have just shown the PM helping the mom with her market business and that would have been satisfactory to me.

End Rant

I had to comment, the show was too frustrating. I kept watching, hoping the PM would have a good ending. But alas.

Thanks for your kind words!

Eh? I missed that. Was that JY line when he was stalked from CCTV at the palace?
Ok.

Basically LG and JY goes back. TE and LR wait in time space world.

But since JY also travels in the past, everything changes. Just by JY being there everything is changed.

Also they kill prince Buyeong son, because why not. FYI it was pointless because LR still escaped.

LG and JY proceeds to go to the throne room, but something is different. The flute doesn't get cut. LR grabs the flute and runs away,

LG chased him and kill shim. TE also shoots LR and kill him.

Since LR is dead, he never goes to ROK, and the future is rewritten.

Since flute is whole, yoyo boy becomes powerful agian, and he decides that TE, LG, and JY will retain their memories.

LG uses the whole flute to look for TE. TE waits for LG to come to her.

LG finally finds TE, and they kiss.

They give every single character happy endings, including filler characters. They give the PM a bad endings.

Nobody dies, everyone lives.

TE and LG travel to different time zones, different eras, different worlds. There is also more than 2 parallel worlds, it is infinite worlds.

The ending is that LG and TE can not stay in 2020 korea or 2020 Corea, because Ji Hun and Luna are there, and the world will explode if both parallel worlds are in the same world. So they spend their time on the weekends being together.

The End.

Even I can't explain this mess. more than 80% of the episode was LG and TE trying to be romantically cute and failing.

I've already said after ep 15. Because LR killed LR. They created a rule that your future self dying has no ramifications. So I knew 100% sure JY would not die, and neither would TE.

he is the flute. When the flute became whole, he regained his powers.
and, i literally laughed out loud, when they had to kill LR twice. Shot by TE, then disappear, because his past self disappeared. Like LOL.

I mean I still haven't forgiven that 2 guns, one fired by LR fails, but fired by TE works.
