The plot and worldbulding of this drama is basically a trainwreck. Very aesteticly pleasing, with a lot of little…
all we know is this will have a happy ending.

I think my opinion is this. What we are seeing between defenders and critics is simply human nature.

If there is one thing we have learned from Kdrama is that True Love has the ability to blind us. So the defenders, have a True Love for LMH, KGE or KES. That they are blinded, and are unable to see the flaws of the show.

When someone criticizes their True Love, they get defensive, and come up with weak arguments why they love KTEM. It's how human beings act when they are in cloud 9, or in the honeymon phase. It's quite normal

And if you've ever met a person blindly in love, you know it's very hard to convince them that their True Love is a bad person, is arrogant, won't be faithful, gold digger, and etc...

Critics on the otherhand do not have much investment in the characters, so the flaws are easier to see. And this applies to all Kdrama in general. If you can't fall in love with the show in the first few episodes, the flaws of the show will be GLARING. But if you do fall in love with the show, then the flaws and what not become easier to ignore.

So I suggest all the critics to just ignore the defenders, and let them enjoy their blind love.

Just like we cannot fix the mess that is KTEM, we cannot convince the defenders the show is bad. That's just life.

Could someone explain the last part of ep15? I don't get, after LG, LR Shinjae and JY were at the bamboo forest…
they explained why it was 48 hours. It's police SOP. When you arrest someone, and you cannot convict them of any crime, you have to release them after 48 hours.

This SOP exist in a lot of police shows. The amount of hours vary, sometimes its 24, 36, 48 or 72 hours.

I was wowed by how it showed that the time-traveling LG merged with the LG the current TE met in Gwanghwamun Plaza,…
No, it was very clear that he didn't have those memories. That is why TE had to tell him what happened.

And no, the current timeline is already an alternate reality. Please read my topic discussion on what is happening in 14-15.

Way to go, TKEM! Stellar performance in Netflix as of June 7:#1 in 8 countries, including South KoreaTop 10 in…
Hospital Playlist:
#1 in 2 countries Including SK
#8 in 6 countries
#17 for June
#27 for the year

Finale rated 16.7% on TVN, a PAID cable service, it's not free TV
KTEM last episode was an 8.5% on a FREE TV service.

Also production cost is less than half of KTEM, much less.

Why spend more than 30 milion dollars, if you can barely beat a show with a small production cost, in terms of netflix popularity, and get trashed in domestic ratings?

It's like, imagine car racing. KTEM bought a lamborgini and came in first. But hospital playlist bought a KIA and finished second. Just some food for thought.

I'm quite curious on your thoughts.

If it's supposedly the LG who caught up from the past that met TE at that place (and consequently spent all that…
they just ignored the science.

But go ahead and read my discussion topic, I came about with an explanation of Ep 14 - 15

Same here..Thank god I waited to see how it turns out for others and the result seems hmmm.. I mean it's almost…
sometimes when I know a cringe scene coming.

I keep saying, "Please no!, please don't!"

Or I close my eyes and fast forward.

That's how much I abhor them when not done properly.

At the end of EP 15, we see that LR has been searching for the obelisk to his grandfathers time space world, and…
Yes, that is a good observation.

KTEM isn't a show that builds up great villains, or heroes with a flaw. Which is disappointing, because a lot of great books there right now are leaning towards a diffrent style of writing.

Authors/writers are focusing more on providing the imperfect hero, the redeemable villains, the grey characters with great backstories and etc...

KTEM is a show that has two main characters.

The omnipotent hero, that never loses at anything, always finds a way to beat the bad guy, and always triumphs in the end.

And the bad guy, who always is scheming, is always shown to be calculating, and has henchmen, even an army. And appears to have ALL the tools to beat the hero character. BUT ALWAYS loses due to his pride, arrogance, and etc...

It's the classic tale of good vs evil, that does its best effort to ensure the viewers do not confuse the heroes from the villains.

It follows the same formula as most KDrama, but supplants it with a convoluted time travel story. And just like oil and water, the romance and the science fiction do not mix. So we end up with a drama that is too technical for some people's taste, and with a romance that leaves a sour taste in some viewers mouth.

I don't find it boring. And have fun binge watching it.

Just incredibly stupid show that has nice production. But honestly, if you don't buy into the romance early on, it gets pretty bad. The number of cringy scenes here are quite high.

And LG is pretty much the Father of Bad Pickup LInes.

you all really did watch almost all the episodes and still every week i see you complaining, calm your asses down…
People will complain when their not satisfied, it's human nature.

Just like people will rave, when it's good, people will rant when it's bad.

Any drama that has it's roots in anything technical, will have romance that suffers due to the lack of screen time to build up something effective.

Western shows don't have this problem because shows span 4-9 seasons. Take for example the Medical Drama House MD. Each episode was an hour long, where 70% of it was educating the viewer about medical facts. The romance on the show, althought light, flowed really well, and you can feel the chemistry of the leads, and the romantic flow.

Kdrama doesn't have this luxury, most Kdramas end in 16 episodes. Which is roughly 1 season or less in western drama standards. That is why the best romantic Kdrama don't have an overly complicated plot, because they want to viewers to appreciate the drama for what it is, a drama.

But KTEM makes a mistake of using time travel and parallel world as the MEAT of it's story, and gives the romance less screen time, less development. What happens when you do this, is that now you are asking the viewers to care about this complex script.

But that is where the problem begins, because now, people will pay attention to all the contradictions, science, plotting, pacing and etc..

These things viewers would normaly ignore, or not put too much emphasis, if there are more romantic scenes, the chemistry is good, the lead actors acting their heart out. Aspects missing in KTEM.

So in the absence of real romance, viewers focus on the plot and logic, which KES did not research well enough, so that is why KTEM has so much criticisms.

Was going to start watching this drama this week, but judging by some of the comments below, should i give this…
I would watch a few episodes and see if you like it.

I do not like it at all, and a lot of the negative comments are warranted.

But your experience may vary, that's why watch a few episodes and see if you like it. If you hate it, then let me tell you, it doesn't get better. If you love it, then let me tell you it gets better.

The reason I say this is that, the stuff you hate in the first few episodes, only get compounded later down the road.

While the stuff you loved, gets better later down the road.

So base your decision on the first 3 episodes.

I think ep 16 is really quite predictable.

You should watch it regardless if its good or bad, because its a polarizing topic that is a good ice breaker in a party. That's my reason for watching it. I absolutely hate the show, and I think this is the worst Kdrama i've ever seen, regardless of big names actors/actress, writers, and production value.

I'm just finishing watching it so I can discuss it with people. But I would not recommend nor rewatch.

Plot twist and big reveals are like romance. If you don't build it up properly, it tends to fall flat.

I've seen my share of Kdrama, and the love of LG and TE, looks better on paper than the actual.

LIke, if I read a book about KTEM instead of watching it on TV, I think my experience woudl have been different.

I always come out of the episodes thinking nothing really happened in the past hour and then I see all the theories…
These theories and etc... out there, 100%, don't represent what the writer wanted to convey with her writing. At this point, I don't even think KES knows what she's writing.

Just like how the Manpashikjeok acts as a tool to connect the parallel worlds of Kingdom of Corea and Republic of Korea.

These fan theories, also serve as a conduit between confused watchers and the drama.

These theories may be completely false or useless in the grand scheme of things. But they helped a drama that is starved of any logical reasoning, full of plot holes, and with one episode left, has no idea how to finish the drama.

So... whats de real motives of lee rim ?
At the end of EP 15, we see that LR has been searching for the obelisk to his grandfathers time space world, and that is why he needs the full flute to get there.

Most likely, with a complete flute, LR would be able to go back all the way to when the grandfather is alive, and either, kill his father, kill LG father when he is a child, or find a way to become the King.

He is also striving for immortality. By being in control of the full flute he can control time thru the time space world and in the real world.

I'm not a fan of KGE, but she's better here than in Goblin. LMH is intolerable though. I much prefer LR's actor.Plus…
I was thinking about watching it, but it seemed like horror, I can't handle anything remotely scary.

Episode 14 - 15 Explained.First of, you have to shut off the left portion of your brain. Forget all logic, forget…
The flowers, the sprouts, the photos all don't relate to the plot.

I just felt there were there for symbolism sake.

It's just my guess on the meaning. But they are not so important to understanding the whole plot IMO.

Sorry if I confused you.
