Thank you! I was struggling with why it felt so rushed. It's disappointing because this version is so incredibly…
Yeah, when Tsukushi turns up... it's completely different from Gorya. Makino is more like 'don't tell me, the side of the guy I witnessed at the airport, tearfully saying goodbye to Rui, and crazily jumping at the take-off of the plane, the guy who misquotes authors as HUMINGYAY, who stupidly asks people to meet up on a random Sunday.... is actually soft enough to stand in the rain, waiting, for THREE hours?' She went to from a point of disbelief and wonder.
Again, I really do not know why Gorya went. She's a nice person, agreed. She also feels slightly guilty for thinking of Thyme as a monster, whereas the airport scene confirmed she had thought of him too lowly. Agreed on that though. Is that reason enough? IMO, no. And not just me, a LOT of us 'older' viewers feel it.
It would have been nice to see her re-collect all of that while she rushed to see if Thyme was still there at the clock-tower. Why? Because as a viewer I'm lazy, and so are 99% of the people. We don't wish to use our brains to justify actions, even if we KNOW what's to happen as we have watched it a million times before. We want everything to be served up on the plate and not do a LOT of mental gymnastics to justify why people are doing what. Y'know why? Because it feels hollow.
Using flashbacks is dicey. While it feels repetitive when you binge-watch a show, it's a nice reminder for people who are live-chasing the show once a week. Two weeks for us, because NYE was a break. I'm sure her actions would make more sense if you're watching an episode everyday. You MUST factor in human-brain capacity of remembering things and events, which greatly influence our viewing experience. I'm once again sure, future viewers will NOT have the complaint we have right now. But then again, we are all live-watching here, and are concerned with the present. Then again, directorial decisions are seldom made based on the airing schedule of a show.
In conclusion, we can't comment on why some decisions were made. We can only speculate. However we can comment on what isn't working for us, and this... definitely didn't work for a LOT of us. :)
Akira means Bright in japanese.... and Bright is the actor's name who plays Thyme
Oh wow, Akira means has roughly the same meaning in Thai too? And it's just a coincidence that they picked an actor called Bright for the role? Aww, he was always fated to play the part then! <3
Thanks for the clarification, I am not sure how these bombs work. I thought if you remove one string, the whole…
They are kind of like those anti-theft lasers. They go off whenever someone 'trips' over them. Those aren't the bombs that are linked to the detonator. The detonator-ones are placed by the window..
I thought Cheong-Ya and So Hoo would have a long backstory, but the girl asked him for his necklace at the first…
They do. It's implied Soo-Ho was the one who rescued her on the icy cliff, and they spent a 'night, in the cave'. She probably asked for the necklace right before they parted ways on the snowy Alps! <3 And she's been in love ever since. Romantic, to say the least. Also a rogue problem, for the future! ^^
Thanks to boonok and comrade joo the main entrance didn’t explode … phewwww
Yeah, cuz those hostages be blind as a bat in daylight. Ain't no way they were noticing those booby traps! xD But then again, that would have been a better explosion than Dr. Kang pulling off that measly-looking bomb trigger in the next episode! :P
Fr, I thought the 'big plan' of Ms Pi & Kang-Moo was to let YR escape. I kept thinking, dudeeee, how stupid are you? She's literally the ONLY ace-card up your sleeves to EVER have a chance at being rescued alive. Turns out, I was wrong. YR was the 'brave, sacrificial decoy' made to go into hiding, so as to distract the spies and buy them enough time to rescue the remaining hostages. YR was probably never meant to be rescued... Aww, poor girl! :')
I think she doesn't get enough credits for finally being someone who does what they say they will do. Did not…
Oh hey, I mean she's stupid for getting locked up on the rooftop! xD But then again, what choice did she have, if she didn't want to blow her cover as of then. Btw, I hadn't come to the part where she pulls the bomb trigger. Hats off to woman for willing to blow up people, including herself, for her cause and what she believes in! <3 Girl-boss indeed. No, once again, I didn't call her stupid for pulling the trigger :')
I love how you tried to soften the blow by saying "only the ones who are extra annoying and had it coming" LMAOThe…
I mean, no, Soo-ho is still played by Hae-In (and his pecs & biceps that are a work of art).. even when he's abusive to the innocent girls. I hate him when I'm supposed to him. Okay, my 'problem' isn't that 'big'! :P

Yeah, like closing a prev chapter (Ren) and consciously moving on, rather than being swept away off her feet. I feel like Gorya is going to be the LEAST confused of all FLs in the next arc. In fact, this even restores her agency quite a bit, and the forgiveness thing? Yeah, she's ultimately the bigger guy... just like Mira asks her to be, in face of everything!
I will sound like the shallowest and the most toxic bitch here, but istg, when the NK guys are beating the SHIT out of people (only the ones who are extra annoying and had it coming).... I think I find them super-hot. I may have a problem, lmao! xD

I think I'm slowly agreeing with this. Every episode ends the same way that HanaDan did, so far. So, it's definitely NOT the pacing that's the problem here, because it certainly wasn't so in case of the j-dorama! :')
Whiplash.
