Wait, so not only do we have both the Hye Jins (Shin Mina AND Uhm Jung Hwa) from Mr. Hong/ Hometown Cha Cha Cha, the plot sounds a LOT like it too... except more people come back to town, this time Jeju. Plenty of beaches, sand, summers, and healing. Also, Studio Dragon Project. Interesting. More so, cuz SMA and Woobie together, but not as a couple... Holy! <3
I L.O.V.E. the cells, so adorable and hilarious at the same time! <3 I love how they translate real-time situations to similar scenarios in the cell village... the cells really are the MVP of the show! :) Without them it's a regular story.... Speaking of regular, I love how our ML is a regular guy and yet so swoony... you don't need ultra-rich chaebols, and CEOs to have male-leads who steal your heart! :)
I sincerely hope this article gets more people to watch! I think the trailer did turn some people off, including me... but I'm glad I gave it a try! <3 <3 <3
Oddly enough, it wasn't a drama that made me a fan of hers. I saw her dancing to Ariana Grande & Little Mix on a 1million studio choreo, and despite looking like a petite yet sexy idol herself, she isn't a natural dancer (as claimed by her)... yet she tried her best, and I became an INSTANT fan! <3 it was always on her bucket-list to learn a k-pop style choreo, and she had done it!! <3 Goes onto show just how humble she is IRL, to keep challenging herself and try out new things! :)
PMY was also the beginning & end of my RP-shipping journey. Secretary Kim, then Her Private Life and finally Healer made me ship her with ALL her co-stars. I found out PSJ may or may not own the same breed of canine-companion as her. She may or may not have dated one of these above-mentioned co-stars. My brain was in a melt-down. HOW could this one woman have such shippable chemistry in ALL her projects? She HAD TO be dating them all right? Nope. She's just THAT brilliantly talented at convincing you! <3 I honestly stopped shipping people after discovering PMY (and her killer, crackling chemistry with every single human being, lol!)
As she grows older, she looks like a little sister to Choi Ji Woo! Infact, she also reminds a little of fellow chinese actress Li Yi Tong... so pretty! :')
I love how domestic she seems for a Hallyu star. She goes full ahjumma-mode while rubbing kimchi, yet maintains her grace, composure & femininity at all times. She isn't short of a human-goddess, imo. Also, I love how she coordinates her heart-emojis on her insta post, with the colours in her photos! :') Ugh, unnie..... keep being awesome! Thanks PMY secretaries, good job on the article! :D :D
wow..i feel old..i am the coffee prince, boys over love etc generation .. lol (i mean as 1st set of dramas)
i started with goong & full-house, never got hooked to k-dramas (mostly watched anime, j-doramas, & taiwanese dramas)... trust me, i'm old too! I think we might even be the same age :P CLOY was my proper 'first' k-drama that got me down the rabbit-hole :D :D
Crash Landing on You was my 'proper' first k-drama (legal, good print, didn't eyeroll and drop it mid-way, etc.) and I just realized... What Yoon Seri/ Captain Ri (AND Son Ye Jin/ Hyun Bin) are to me & many others who got into proper dramas with CLOY... Hye Jin/ Du-Shik (AND Shin Mina/ Kim Seon Ho) are the SAME to all these first-time k-drama watchers who started off with Home-Cha! Absolutely magical. You guys, I'm so happy you found such a sweet, wholesome and heart-warming drama as your first <3 <3 <3

Fair enough, you have pointed that out in your own comment thread that you have issues with the writing. Sure, that's completely valid. It's tropey and cliched. Still doesn't make the character of Hye-Jin a sudden damsel-in-distress. You are talking of a particular situation in the plot. This entire comment thread is about her characterization. I think we are talking of two completely different topics.
I do think writers like to generously sprinkle around coincidences, especially those involving women's safety in a very light/ casual manner just to propel a romance. While that very likely could be the case here & a legitimate topic of discussion, it is still not the topic being discussed here :)

Then that's a problem with the writing, rather than Hye-Jin's characterization as somebody who's become a 'damsel-in'-distress' after falling in love, because clearly, the latter isn't the case.
I think the damsel in distress thing doesn't really put into perspective how Hyejin is also healing Dushik. He…
I understand that it's not her main character arc, but sometimes it's okay to be vulnerable and helpless and ask for help, i don't care how strong or independent or brave you are. It's okay to need help once in a while and *ask* for it. It's okay to depend on someone. I think both Du-Shik and Hye-Jin will come to terms with it, and realize they can rely on one another, and it isn't bad or to be frowned upon. Like you said, it doesn't make HJ a damsel-in-distress... :')
