Just read the book. The couple is cute once they get together but you've to put up with the cringe parts of the fl chasing the ml shamelessly and obsessively

On my re-watch and noticing just how much depth and substance this show has outside of being just a great romance xianxia. It's a masterclass in trope subversion. Just when you think it's just a regular classic xianxia romance it turns the whole plot on its head and impresses you about how unique it is. There's never going to be a xianxia as iconic as this one.

Watched some 10 eps. Its a pretty good remake. They've adjusted the characters and the cultural social details to fit their demographic. I don't think it's better than the original tho.
