is boys love what you expected?hahahahahahahahaha
In those shows you listed, some instances of so many gay characters can be explained, while in others, it's also unrealistic.

HELP!, I'm currently watching Spirealm and I have a question that I hope someone can clarify. In the series, it's…
Not sure my explanation will help, maybe someone else will share another answer, but basically, for non-game players, it may not be familiar, but because of the game theme of the show, the doors are based on something similar to RPG 'outcome' game theory. This is a basic explanation from wiki:
[In game theory, the outcome of a game is the ultimate result of a strategic interaction with one or more people, dependent on the choices made by all participants in a certain exchange. It represents the final payoff resulting from a set of actions that individuals can take within the context of the game. Outcomes are pivotal in determining the payoffs and expected utility for parties involved.

Each player’s strategy is based on their expectation of what the other players are likely to do, often explained in terms of probability. Outcomes are dependent on the combination of strategies chosen by involved players and can be represented in a number of ways; one common way is a payoff matrix showing the individual payoffs for each players with a combination of strategies.]

So basically, the actions of every person playing can change the events in the doors. Every time Lanzhu goes into a door, things may be different or more difficult because of the game's 4 levels of difficulty and also what other players do or don't do.

There's more to it, which also makes the doors (as a video game make sense), but for non game-players, it might be confusing or uninteresting xD

Homophobs shouldn’t watch BL
I'm not sure whether to laugh or feel sorry for you guys, like, how do you guys not understand the basic meaning of one simple comment so badly πŸ˜‚ I can't be bothered to explain it to any of you, I'm quite sure you're all very determined to contradict me by redundantly defending against what was never even an insult to the show in the first place. Like, where's the common sense here, I can't even πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Perhaps you've purposely misunderstood my comment. All the same, to be clear, there is an unrealistic amount of gay characters within the scope of the story.

Aside from there being way too much gay happening in this series, it's not bad.

I love this drama. I don't know why chinese bl dramas are always so good. God , please withdraw the ban from Chinese…
At the moment, we can look forward to Meet You at the Blossom. It's a Chinese danmei adapted by Taiwan & Thailand, so it'll be uncensored. If it's successful, we may be able to look forward to more in future.

I'll be real, going hard with the police work theme was NOT a good idea, that was their absolute weakest point in the full series and it didn't improve here at all. I also cringed super hard when the kid called them mummy and daddy.

The best part was the final fight scene with Phaya and they also didn't short change us on Gap's stellar physique this time around. Overall, I don't think this special ep was actually necessary, the series still holds up better without it.

Because China has a ban on BL (gay media in general) on TV for a while now. The Spirealm managed to slip past…
iQiyi was supposed to rebroadcast it a few months back when it was released on Viu and Viki, but because the series contains obvious BL themes, it was not and still is not approved for iQiyi, which is a Chinese platform. So unless they change the content of the series for iQiyi (remove the close relationship of Lanzhu/Jiushi), OR if by some luck they drop the ban, it will likely never be released on iQiyi.

Sure, np.
Np, happy to answer any novel related questions.
So, the ending is VERY different.
The entire 11th door is much, much longer and more detailed. It's the same in that Nanzhu and Qiushu go back to a few years earlier in their pasts and have to face previous enemies, NPC's and Door Gods, also encountering former 'good acquaintances and friends' to help them survive. But the series cuts it short and changes the events drastically, but in the novel it's much longer and the outcome is different;

In the novel, after they 'clear' their respective levels they become totally separated and stuck inside the Door World where everything seems 'perfect' because everyone who was killed is alive, but it's all fake. After a short-ish while stuck in there, Qiushi manages to figure out the key to get out first, because he's smort like that, and he does get out, eagerly choosing to return to the real world (where people really died), because even though many people were lost, he wants to be with Nanzhu (their relationship is already established by that point in the novel, so they are a couple). But when he gets back Nanzhu is not in the real world, and no one seems to know who he was or that he existed and Qiushi is confused but he can't do anything about it, so he goes on with life as much as he can, going through a bit of a hard time because he doesn't know what happened to Nanzhu.

Nanzhu on the other hand, is still stuck in the Door World because he is gradually regaining his memory, which he wiped just in order to meet Qiushi. So, Nanzhu is not a human. And he knew of Qiushi before because Nanzhu is a God of the Door Realm realm, and years before he'd been watching Qiushi cross the doors for some time and he fell in love with him and chose to leave his place as a God, take on a corporeal humanoid form and enter Qiushi's world to meet, interact with, get to know him and eventually be with him. But in order to do that 'naturally', he wiped his memory of being a God so he could be as human-esque as possible.

Stuck in the Door World for a long while (about a year), Nanzhu, having remembered what and who he is and why he did what he did, he finds the key and leaves the Door World (his realm) and chooses to go back to Qiushi's world.

Upon returning, (and as per the rules of his realm, if someone doesn't make it out of he 11th door they are forgotten) he'd been forgotten, until he turned up again, then everyone who had forgotten him remembered him. He turns up at Obsidian, and the new leader of Obsidian (a character not included in the series) contacts Qiushi to let him know Nanzhu has returned.

Qiushi is, of course, feeling feels of shock and relief and happiness and he goes straight to Obsidian. He and Nanzhu are reunited then and as they were already an established couple prior to all that happened, they pick up where they left off and continue to be together, very HAPPILY. The extras from the novel include some great Nanzhu and Qiushi couple scenes. If you ever want to read them, there are links I've posted on the Discussion Board here to read the novel. You can even start from chapter 139 to skip the final door's horror and read them being reunited and getting back together, and the extras that follow. They're sassy and loving and domestic all at once!

✌️😁 Hope it's clear enough!

Writers flaw, they think Wandee is coming across as pure and cute and worth waiting for, but nah, they failed successfully to hit that mark.

This episode was 90% redundant and 10% enjoyable, and the 10% doesn't even include the ending, but rather the minor character development moments of Yak. Also, Luke (Zazaki) is VERY easy on the eyes.

Haha, np! I'll probs be on The Spirealm page on and off to answer some questions and promote the show πŸ˜† but yeah I like Jiang Long since he had small role in S.C.I way back, so I'm glad he's finally got a popular ML role and the drama is popular and getting subbed, even if they're AI lol

In Chinese BL they have to change the ending because China's no-homo policy literally makes it impossible for the show runners to let the ML couple end up together. The fact that Lanzhu and Jiushi are obviously into each other non platonically is the reason this BL is still not allowed to be aired in China, the showrunners did what they could even at the risk of not being broadcast. It is what it is for now. Knowing the ending the novel takes the edge off.

The story was good overall but i didn't quite like the ending though.
I usually recommend ignoring the last 8 minutes of the drama, then reading from chapter 130 of the novel, which is the start of the 11th door. Ending the drama there and reading the novel from that point ties the series to the novel very well and the censorship affected ending of the drama is no longer the only outcome, but instead the novel outcome, which is the canon end, is the best.
