How can lin say "khun dad" everytime without cringing even a bit? Even typing that makes me shudder.
My mind has naturally supplied a distorted audio sound to each memory of him saying that cringe shit. My brain will not stand for such an unpleasantry.
Glacial pace, which okay, the pay off might still be worth it, but the filler isn't all that interesting. Could definitely watch next week's ep having skipped this one and not be lost at all.
No but seriously, you HAVE to hand it to the director of this. They have done an EXCEPTIONAL job of absolutely removing any and all natural chemistry between MosBank. Besides physically touching each other, they are so stiff and their dialogue is very cringe. The director really deserves to be noted for that incredible L they are holding. I mean, even more over, they managed to make almost every scene besides MosBank's scenes more entertaining, albeit with a very awkward charm. This kind of abysmal achievement comes from someone who is naturally talented at not knowing wft was going on.
At this point the best actor here is Fong [Chan], because in his purpose to be a likeable comedy relief and buffer character, he has succeeded with perfect marks. Despite loving MosBank, I will not be rating this show well, whether I drop it or stick it out to the end, it is really just a waste of a budget and great pair of actors. Someone please give MosBank a better script and director. I remember saying that after Big Dragon too, now I almost feel bad I ever complained about BD in any way π

And THAT is how you nail a first kiss scene. Rarely done right in BLs, especially Thai BLs, hats off to the actors and director for that gem. When I finally update my Top 10 kiss list, I may very well be adding this BL to the list.
Side notes: - I have no idea why Plawan sometimes dresses like he's in That 70s Show but I LOVED HIS BOOTS in the scene where he sneaks back into the restaurant. - Hehe, sexy physiotherapy, Metas went from frigid to flirty in 10 seconds flat once he realized he wanted that D. And no, that D isn't referring to JJ as a Doctor, because JJ is a physiotherapist, NOT a doctor.π - I almost never care about secondary couples in BLs but alright, I'm down to see how it goes. - Some of the cooking scenes actually made me hungry wtf - Generally and over all so far, 4 eps in and this show is good kush.
So Viki has 38 episodes and this says 78? Isn't over 40 forbidden?
When the show was re-released officially on Viki and Viu it was properly formatted with an intro and outro added. 78 was the original upload that was taken down from iQiyi back in Feb for not passing censorship, the 38 eps are all the same eps compacted for re-release, no content removed or changed.
I feel like LuGuang and Xiao Shi were at peak levels of irresponsibility with sending Qiao Ling into that situation so carelessly and then they were also ALL rather calm about what sounded like a death ultimatum threat regarding the code input π Good ep though.
I am really really satisfied with this drama, perfectly directed.. Director needs some award for this π₯π₯
It honestly needs to be noted for sure, the directing and acting. Especially when the actors have to pretend to be Jiang Long's Xiao Shi, matching his portrayal of the character and mimicking him to an extent. The pacing is also good on top of the over all plot.
As soon as this show is over, Kobayashi Toranosuke is going on ALL my lists as one of my faves. His line deliveries are on point in this show and he's just enjoyable to watch in this role over all.
Really happy to read this. Iβve been holding off on this series but youβve given me hope.
The gangster arc is the worst of it but it peters off somewhat around the end of 6 and closes in ep 8 (FINALLY), and by then the life drama/basketball side of things has gained more traction.
The latter part of this BL is much better than the beginning imo, the whole basketball gangster gambler criminal kidnapping drama thing was hard to take seriously, but the street basketball meets professional basketball life drama theme is more organized and the second half of the show is flowing better for it. I also think that the fact that the basketball side of the show is done well and is actually watchable without skipping (for those who enjoy sport/basketball) is pretty outstanding in a BL, because usually the 'theme' they put in BLs is weak and more like filler while people wait for, well, just the BL side of things. Personally, I think a properly executed plot holds a show together and creates more viewer investment, and I'm enjoying this about The Rebound.
I would only say I wish the first part of the show had been more about street basketball in and of itself, versus professional basketball and how different the two versions of the sport and its players can be, instead of the gangster thing. Otherwise, I think episodes 7 to 10 have been MUCH improved, and particularly after closing out the gangster storyline, the most recent eps 9 and 10, have served.
For a series this good, MDL viewers are so mean with the ratings! It's one of the best BL's airing right now.
For most BL viewers, if it's not their fave popular actors from their fave companies, they will rate it lower for no good reason. This BL is indeed one of the best airing rn.
THIS BL HAS ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT BEING THIS GOOD WTAF I love how none of their conversations have been superficial too! WTAF Even the other scenes, Every. Scene. Has. Had. Purpose.
i know we're all excited about shundai, but i'm curious why they give the other couples a sleepover date but ryota…
Possibly levelled according to their interactions throughout the process. Kazuto and Alan overtly stated and established mutual physical attraction and interest to each other initially, Dai and Shun did too, in conversations and to the audience when speaking to the private camera. Whereas Ryota and Gensei have done neither to date, most of their conversations and mentions of each other haven't exceeded friendship and a possible interest in getting to know each other as more (Gensei slightly more than Ryota).
The nicest thing about this show imo is no one is forced into uncomfortable situations by the production team, they can say no to things and the writers of the show seem accommodating in the choices and with their personal space.
