which Chinese bl drama can compete with untamed and win
Ngl, The Spirealm comes very, very close to beating TU for me (since I prefer modern drama), except the ending of TS is about 3% not good due to censorship, whereas TU's ending was 1% not good, so TU still wins. But I'd recc The Spirealm if you haven't seen it. It didn't even pass censorship because the BL is quite obvious.
I don't know if their voices are dubbed like in other Chinese series, but I think the characters sound way more…
They don't often dub the 'normal' series, usually it's the series with big casts and tricky film locations and stuff, because it's easier than trying to sort out quiet sets for filming out doors or getting a 20 something number of cast member actors who all have similar/the same accents.

SERIES: 1. The ending the of show is open to interpretation depending on viewer preference. If you want the most commonly and obvious-to-assume ending, it's that it was all a comatose dream. If you want a more abstract ending and 'happier' ending, it's a game being played inside a game and no one died and everyone came out perfectly fine after the game was cleansed. If you want the in between possibility, it all really happened inside a game world, but after the game was cleansed Lanzhu ceased to exist outside the virtual world and Jiushi went back to a 'reset' reality. You decide which one makes sense to you.
2. There is no 12th door, it was never a completed door in the game, Gao Dawei basically made it an exit point for cleansing the game for Lanzhu to pass through. Also, refer to 1 to choose an answer for how an NPC existed 'outside' a video game virtual world.
3. Gao Dawei was not meant to look like Lanzhu, we as viewers just know that. XZG just played him because he is a plot device character who doesn't exist in the novel, he only needed to serve the purpose of game designer and long ago friend to Jiushi, he had no significant role outside of that and did not have visual significance. XZG probably just filled the role for the sake of convenience when filming.
4. I have no idea what theory this is, there were 11 doors in the series and the novel.
5. Refer to number 1. Gao Dawei having any involvement goes back to which ending you think makes sense.
NOVEL:
1. The novel does not end with all people alive. The part where everyone is alive is Qiushi still trapped inside the 11th door. Those are after images of the people who lived and died in the survival game, they are all dead in Qiushi's reality, where they come from. Qiushi and Nanzhu eventually return to Qiushi's reality where everyone who died is still dead.
2. Very important to note, is there is no video game in the novel, it's a real alternative universe of which Nanzhu is the God. It is a different reality. He is the end of the game, as in, when/if survivors manage to clear the 11th door, they reach him, the 12th door, where he basically sends them back to their reality with their memories wiped, having no recollection of the existence of the door realm whatsoever. Nanzhu only changed this outcome for Qiushi the second time because he fell in love with him while observing him for several years. There are no actual NPC's, the term is just used to refer to the beings in the survival world who do what they are created to do in Nanzhu's realm as a challenge for players, the term NPC is just an understandable term to describe the process and beings in the survival game realm.
3. GD doesn't exist in the novel at all, there is no video game.
