feel so sad with isbanky twitter's post that he said the viewership of this series is poor in thailand and the…
Unfortunate. Not his fault the writers and director are on some bullshit though. He and Mos need to consider where they're headed next because SH is ruining them.
I think it's more because side female characters are mostly portrait as damsel in distress. Clueless, week and…
I get you, but have you read these comments? If she'd shown up as a confident, strong female character intent on getting her ex man back, it would have been even worse π
Iβve got a question to those whoβve read the novel. What chapters should I read to see the censored romance,…
To be honest, the novel is SO different, you'd not recognize just as many scenes as you would recognize. The adaptation is very good, but also very different. So, if you're a reader, I would recommend reading the novel. But to answer your other questions;
1: The novel is not explicit, there is some innuendo, flirting, touching and kissing and implied sex. They establish their relationship and share their first proper kiss at the end of Chapter 105, which coincides with episode 31. In the series, there is a subtle shift in Jiushi and Lanzhu's relationship, censored of course, but in the novel, they openly become a couple.
2. The novel ending is entirely happy. You can either watch the series to the end and then read the novel ending to see the difference, or you can skip the last 8 min of ep 38 and read the novel from chapter 130, which is the beginning of the 11th door in the novel and is vastly different from the series 11th door. Skipping the last 8 min kind of makes the series blend into the story outcome of the novel.
3. Ep 25 is around the Ninth Door in the novel, which is chapter 80. Keep in mind the novel contains some events and doors that the series does not, and in the series some door events were adapted sort of in to each other while others were left completely out and some of the stories altered.
I think people react negatively to a returning ex because of the unnecessary drama it creates. People are tired…
I get why they want to be upset about it, but tropes exist for a reason, just like stereotypes do, and realistically, people (most of the time) do have exes, and many exes do cause trouble, directly and indirectly. This girl hasn't actually even caused any trouble, she came back for her sick dad and she's just been trying to reconnect with Oab (whom she doesn't know is banging someone else) so she's a little touchy and flirty and really, she's been totally normal by those standards. Until she actually does something trashy, she really should be overlooked as a bump in the road. Even Plawan ain't mad at her, and the shit he's hiding is way more messed up π people are mad like she's Plernpleng from Together With Me. BL watchers have been spoiled to think this soft serve ex girlfriend deserves any hate.
That, uh, reunion of Ryu and Zen was somehow ridiculous, hilarious and fitting all at once lol This series is worth a watch, minus the unrealistically gay basketball gambling gangster story line in the beginning (seriously, even writing it out is an eyesore), everything else about this was enjoyable, well portrayed and well paced, the final four eps in particular were very solid and consistent. It was an entertaining watch to be sure.
Female characters bring out the worst in BL fans. Oab's ex is literally a little plot device added to create some angst between the MLs for the sake of them 'realising how deep their feelings run', she hasn't even done anything besides returning to where she used to live and trying to get her ex-boyfriend back (basic stuff for any drama story line) and viewers want to lynch her. lol
Anyway, this episode was awesome. The bathroom scene was FANTASTIC. Their first kiss in the last ep was already a step up from most Thai BLs, SUPER well done, and this episode's bathroom scenes was π₯ it reminded me of the second season drunk kiss between the MLs in We Best Love, which is one of the kiss scenes of ALL BLs (imo). This one had a similar vibe to it, some darker tension of the dishonesty between the MLs overlaid with sexual tension, and acted well! Very nice.
So there are currently two 'spanners in the works', creating some tension and distance between the MLs, expected really, but I am suspicious of Kluea having something else going on behind they scenes. You know the one you would least expect might turn out to have ulterior motives, like he has his owns reasons for wanting the restaurant? Just like Auto had his own reasons for being there. Hopefully Kluea's reason is not something dodge. He seems like a bit of a central character since the start so I've been wondering if his only role is really just pursuing Plawan.
JJ and Metas just make me laugh, but in a good way, I'm actually interested in seeing the outcome of their relationship and how it's going to affect the mess Plawan has made for himself. Also Metas is spending a lot of time as that 'shut up and take my money' meme π and JJ is like that Bug's Bunny 'no' meme. ππ
Oab also seems to be maintaining a healthy amount of doubt about Plawan, which I think is good. The whole 'blinded by love' thing is lame and not realistic. It'd be better if he's not blindsided, considering he's been so vigilant all this time, and he can handle the 'betrayal' with control and calm when shit eventually hits the fan. As for his ex girlfriend, I reckon he's gonna' tell her he's not interested in getting back together pretty straighforwardly.
Am I the only one who feels like the story doesnβt make sense at all. Can someone explain please? I am currently…
For non-game players, it may not be familiar, but because of the game theme of the show, the doors are based on something similar to RPG 'outcome' game theory. This is a basic explanation from wiki: [In game theory, the outcome of a game is the ultimate result of a strategic interaction with one or more people, dependent on the choices made by all participants in a certain exchange. It represents the final payoff resulting from a set of actions that individuals can take within the context of the game. Outcomes are pivotal in determining the payoffs and expected utility for parties involved. Each playerβs strategy is based on their expectation of what the other players are likely to do, often explained in terms of probability. Outcomes are dependent on the combination of strategies chosen by involved players and can be represented in a number of ways; one common way is a payoff matrix showing the individual payoffs for each players with a combination of strategies.]
So basically, the actions of every person playing can change the events in the doors. Every time Lanzhu goes into a door, things may be different or more difficult because of the game's 4 levels of difficulty and also what other players do or don't do. So no door is exactly same each time someone enters it. There's more to it, which also makes the doors (as a video game make sense), but for non game-players, it might be confusing or uninteresting and not necessary to know to enjoy the series.
As for Bai Jie, if you're on 21 and it's not made sense yet, it may continue to confuse you. So, I'm sure you know this is a Cn censored BL, therefore Ruan Lanzhu cannot actually cross dress in the series. If you recall in episode 9 at around 15.30 mins in, Li Dong Yuan shows them a picture of BaiJie who he is interested in pursuing, Lanzhu looked appalled while Juishi and Qian Li start laughing, that's because in that picture it is Ruan Lanzhu crossdressing, but DongYuan doesn't know that, hence the humorous chase he goes on to meet 'her' in the following few eps. They make several other references to it in the early episodes until Lanzhu admits to DY that he is Bai Jie in episode 16 at around 31 min, and then the topic is closed. In the novel of course, Nanzhu outright crossdressed.
Funfact: Xia Zhiguang (Ruan Lanzhu's actor) did in fact dress in drag for filming, but of course, the scenes would never make the cut. Hope this helps.
Episode 5 and HIGHLY PISSED OFF. I can't believe this moody, bratty, insufferable squawking annoyance Eun Yu is still around but Yi Kyung??? WTAF. Jfc. I have been waiting for this dead face girl to be killed off since S01. Yeesh. At this point I'm probably going to be disappointed. Oh well, I am glad the soldier slapped her though, I felt that desire, I lived through him vicariously. And at least the plot is moving forward finally. People complained about s02 but this season has taken 4 whole eps to get any proper ground going. On with the show...
I just finished itThe writing was incredible, I really thought I would get bored with all the different stories…
I've shared some info and an explanation for Gao Dawei under the spoiler, but don't read it if you prefer the 'unknown' or melancholic feeling of the end :3
I just finished itThe writing was incredible, I really thought I would get bored with all the different stories…
The ending is solely to blame on Cn censorship, the series got away with a lot of non platonic context and so at the end they probably decided separating the MLs was the best 'no homo' option available. The novel is totally different, especially the ending.
Also, you didn't miss anything! Gao Dawei was a plot device created for the series, he doesn't exist in the novel. There is no virtual game in the novel at all, it's a real alternate world. So there was no reason to place visual importance on Gao Dawei's character in the series, they just needed a character to refer to as the game's creator who had a personal connection to Jiushi.
I enjoyed them cuz they said the things I wanted to say! Lol
They're there to lead the audiences 'feelings', which works on most people, especially those who want to see everything in a positive light. They gave no genuine opinions, just sugar coated, cherry picked observations. Hard pass for me. If they are present for the next season, I'll just skip them like I did this season π
Don't feel bad for sharing your opinion. Humans are humans, we like some, we don't like some. Shun is someone I would have had a hard time not strangling tbh, I would flat out ignore someone with that sort of personality irl. From episode one, every time he opened his mouth about 'me me me' my eyes rolled. LOL. It's fine to dislike someone for what we DO know about them, that is how assessing and gaining impressions of people works, even more so in media. βοΈ
