so far (I'm at ep 30) It's not bl, just brotherhood / bromance
Nah, just bros. Not censored anything. I think it's an original series but I'm not sure, can't find any English information on it, or any Chinese info.
I'm really struggling with this drama. I find Taishin's character beyond pitiful. I simply can't wrap my head…
I agree that the plot is not realistic. The most basic issue with this show is that Taishin's behaviour is unhealthy and his 'attraction' is something he doesn't even seem to understand, it's more like low key hero worship, like he's starstruck, and he's been influenced into feeling something 'romantic' by all the new things and hints he's picking up from living in the city. Very, very impressionable. Realistically, someone who is meant to be like Takara's character is portrayed, would in fact not be attracted to someone like Taishin, and if they were, it would be very questionable as to why.
Under typical circumstances, if he did feel concern for Taishin as a senior, since he is meant to be the secretly nice guy, who is mature, has dating experience worldly guy, Takara would not be keen to get romantically involved with someone to who seems confused about life 90% of the time, he'd be more likely to take him under his wing, like a little bro. That's the underlying problem with this BL as far as I've found. I think they could have remedied A LOT of the issues with Taishin's character, who is not properly mentally adjusted, by using some of the wasted filler to properly develop his character. Instead of making him go 'ooh' and 'aah' and have him make anime character expressions when he discovers something new about his feelings or about romance dynamics, they should have actually shown him experiencing some proper understanding of what he's feeling and learning so he could do some 'growing' up, since he's very childish. Instead, his character seems to just forego understanding and follows along with whatever Takara does, especially if it's something new and shiny. And in fact, the BL seems to be keeping him as a maladjusted individual, for some reason. I do not personally understand how someone could be attracted to Taishin, he's a young adult who seems to have the maturity of a 13 year old, and not even a modern 13 year old.
A BL which can be used as an example of a country bumkin who showed realistic adjustment and development to city life and discovering his sexuality was Ji Hyun from The 8th Sense. He was a little impulsive on acting on the sudden feelings of attraction he had, but he was also taking life cues from those around him and had enough self awareness to figure out how to proceed without seeming LEAD. Taishin hasn't actually had any signs of mentally maturing.
The thing is, the reality about BLs at least, is the majority of BL fans, if they decide they like something in a BL, or even just like the actors, they will make excuses and find ways to validate a BLs content, especially if it suits their ideals of romance, or their preferences and such. This is common, no matter how bad some BLs are, they usually have some defenders, and some bad ones even have many. There is limited objectivity in BL land, that's just how it is. But that's fine, to each their own. But sure enough, one can still like an actor/actors even if the show they act in is not good, and your opinion is as valid as any other.
This BL is not terrible, but it's not great, it's just mid. That's my opinion.
This BL ATE and SERVED all in one. 10/10 for sure. One of the best of 2024, and one of the best and most complete in Thailand for sure. The whole thing started on a high note and wrapped up on a high note.
Why does Taichin talk like he's drugged and sleepy???
It's a manga-esque aesthetic, the type that should NEVER be adapted to live adaptations. It happens often in Japanese BLs. Acquired taste. Some like it, some don't.
Are you asking about the novel ending? The ending of the novel is VERY different. The entire 11th door is much,…
He is part of the virtual world, yes, an NPC, and the end of the drama is affected by censorship, so there is a period of separation for Cn's 'no-homo' agenda, so prepare to cry when they separate lol. Also the drama's end can be interpreted differently according to what you think.
can someone spoil me the ending here or direct me to where i can read the ending , thank you in advanced
Are you asking about the novel ending? The ending of the novel is VERY different. The entire 11th door is much, much longer and more detailed. It's the same in that Nanzhu and Qiushu go back to a few years earlier in their pasts and have to face previous enemies, NPC's and Door Gods, also encountering former 'good acquaintances and friends' to help them survive. But the series cuts it short and changes the events drastically, but in the novel it's much longer and the outcome is different;
In the novel, after they 'clear' their respective levels they become totally separated and stuck inside the Door World where everything seems 'perfect' because everyone who was killed is alive, but it's all fake. After a short-ish while stuck in there, Qiushi manages to figure out the key to get out first, because he's smort like that, and he does get out, eagerly choosing to return to the real world (where people really died), because even though many people were lost, he wants to be with Nanzhu (their relationship is already established by that point in the novel, so they are a couple). But when he gets back Nanzhu is not in the real world, and no one seems to know who he was or that he existed and Qiushi is confused but he can't do anything about it, so he goes on with life as much as he can, going through a bit of a hard time because he doesn't know what happened to Nanzhu.
Nanzhu on the other hand, is still stuck in the Door World because he is gradually regaining his memory, which he wiped just in order to meet Qiushi. So, Nanzhu is not a human. And he knew of Qiushi before because Nanzhu is a God of the Door Realm realm, and years before he'd been watching Qiushi cross the doors for some time and he fell in love with him and chose to leave his place as a God, take on a corporeal humanoid form and enter Qiushi's world to meet, interact with, get to know him and eventually be with him. But in order to do that 'naturally', he wiped his memory of being a God so he could be as human-esque as possible.
Stuck in the Door World for a long while (about a year), Nanzhu, having remembered what and who he is and why he did what he did, he finds the key and leaves the Door World (his realm) and chooses to go back to Qiushi's world. Upon returning, (and as per the rules of his realm, if someone doesn't make it out of he 11th door they are forgotten) he'd been forgotten, until he turned up again, then everyone who had forgotten him remembered him. He turns up at Obsidian, and the new leader of Obsidian (a character not included in the series) contacts Qiushi to let him know Nanzhu has returned.
Qiushi is, of course, feeling feels of shock and relief and happiness and he goes straight to Obsidian. He and Nanzhu are reunited then and as they were already an established couple prior to all that happened, they pick up where they left off and continue to be together, very HAPPILY. The extras from the novel include some great Nanzhu and Qiushi couple scenes. If you ever want to read them, there are links I've posted on the Discussion Board here to read the novel. You can even start from chapter 139 to skip the final door's horror and read them being reunited and getting back together, and the extras that follow. They're sassy and loving and domestic all at once!
Hope this helps. If you want to read the novel ending, I've posted links to read the novel int he recent discussion section above, you can skip to chapter 130 to read the final door yourself it you want to.✌️😁
That preview for next week's ep doesn't scare me! Bring it on! ˢᵒᵒⁿᵉʳ ʳᵃᵗʰᵉʳ ᵗʰᵃⁿ ˡᵃᵗᵉʳ ʷᵒᵘˡᵈ ᵇᵉ ⁿⁱᶜᵉ 😢 Also, if grandpa had thrown his toenails on me, it'd be game over. RIP grandpa.
ur saying that in real world takara wud sexually assault taishin cus thats more believable to u..? oh hell nah..…
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with either of you, but to take sexual assault away from the OP's comment is overkill 😂 I understood the comment to mean: Takara would acknowledge Taishin liked him, warm up to him just enough to have sex with him a couple of times, and then dump him because someone like Takara would not realistically be attracted to a personality type like Taishin.
