On The Proper Way to Write Love Aug 23, 2025
The way Natsuo said 'SuZuKAYaaayY' with that wild grin is very on brand for Japanese anime style exclamation. I can appreciate that.

It doesn't hurt that the actor playing Natsuo is easy on the eyes. I almost never find Japanese actors attractive, it's novel when it happens.

Title The Spirealm
Can you please tell me if it’s BL or Bromance
It's a censored BL, which means the non-platonic relationship is not overt, but depicted with subtlety.

Title Khemjira
I think I need to put this on hold. I am struggling to be interested in the story or the characters, but it's possibly because I'm lowkey off BL at the moment. I'll hopefully return to it.

Lol, the second line I know they don't mean it THAT way. That's why I said 'interesting', the wording is a bit, hmmm, wonky πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜…

China doesn't have any control over it. It's filmed there by independent/private producers, the censorship board has no way to monitor or stop anyone/everyone in the country from filming. And then once it's done, it's sold abroad and aired abroad, it doesn't go through China's broadcasting board at all. They can't censor it.

Eeeh no stress, I wasn't tryna start nothing lol I was just tryna offer some insight into the fact that their kisses, as they are in the show, are actually pretty good for where we're at with CBL's rn. Your comment was fine, your opinion is fine lol

So, just to weigh in with some info;
Until just a few months ago, Chinese BL series have all been censored for several years, no gay stuff allowed out of China. This BL is one of the big ones of a few recently to break out of China, RL was filmed in China but only released internationally, which is the reason they were able to do any gay stuff at all.

Considering the history and struggle of Chinese BL and the risks for the actors and consider the type of content in this BL, the fact we got to see it at all AND that we didn't get dead fish kisses is groundbreaking. If this is your first Chinese BL, you probably don't know all this drama, but let me tell you, you're lucky to see kisses at all, in censored BLs they can't even LOOK at each for too long with affection 🀣

Continental China or Taiwan?
Mainland China actors , crew and film location, but sold and aired internationally. Not aired in the mainland. Nothing to do with Taiwan.

The Bangkok Boy, it's a Thai BL, but not the typical kind of Thai BL, so it wasn't super popular even though it was a good watch.

Legit? Good to know. I have this lowkey hope Mick will end up being in it and I'll get more MickTop action, but I know that's a LOOOOOONG shot.

Haha! I thought it was common knowledge. It really does give 'Wattpad energy', that's the ONLY thing worse than 'AO3 chaotic tag one shot energy', but both are SO bad 🀣

It was a good watch, one of the few BLs I enjoyed and didn't drop in 2025 so far, it definitely excelled where Knock Out dropped the ball repeatedly. I'm hoping they'll give us a second season of BKB.

They DON'T. These two have done the first of its kind, they're taking chances but also being brave. Fan service is terrible (imo) but it's very cash-money of them all the same. Kudos to them.

PS: I see your BKB DP, noice 😏

Yep. I saw that he'll be performing the song again soon. I'm hoping for a professional recording with better sound quality. He's got a good voice.

I didn't realize that was Zhan Xuan singing the theme song, nice.
Did you hear the live version from the fanmeet? Not even a backing track. It's so rare for Asian singers to sing without a backing track. Very satisfying.

Haha XD I dropped that BL on like episode 2 or 3 I think, so I never saw that or saw the drama but I can believe it. That's the visual side of things at work, the aesthetic of a larger built top and slighter built bottom is an old preference in the slash/LGBTQ/BL genres. If we're talking statistics and stereotypes, it's not a common sight to see a smaller dominant partner, so that's where it stems from. That said, people shouldn't make a big deal out of it, if they don't like the dynamic or visual, they should just move on, the overreaction is very extra.
