Random RL thought for the day:

Based on the series depiction of CC not saying 'I don't love you' to WS the first time he was confronted with it, up until the circumstances surrounding the second time when he frankly and calmly and nicely told him he doesn't love him, I feel like it's fairly obvs that Chi Cheng's intention the first time was to make WS hurt;
Leave him hanging, make him keep chasing, don't cut him loose but throw him out and push him away, harsh words, scathing looks, don't give him any closure, keep him hopeful but hurting and confused, let him be desperate, let him embarrass himself, let him cry, ignore him, brush him off...because CC was left hanging for 6 years, and his dynamic with WS was always pretty ugly so that was how the was going to play the game. Revenge. Eye for an eye. You left me in the dark, I'll keep you in the dark.

Then, SW hurts him and basis on his own misunderstandings of how well CC has treated him, and CC tells him "I'll change roles then, I'll be good to him (WS)" and he does just that, he goes to see WS and very kindly, calmly and softly spoken and clearly tells him the truth and effectively cuts him loose from the games and drama. WS sees it as cruel, because he doesn't understand the dynamic, doesn't understand it's better to know it's over so he can start moving on (although he batshit crazy, so maybe not so easy for him) and then CC leaves.

CC just did what he said he would, he went from intending to leave WS hanging for an indefinite amount of time, to cutting him lose, freeing them both. He was good to him in that way, a final time.
That's my take anyway.

I was lowkey disappointed he gave the baby back, I would never have. Idgaf it was a gift from an ex, it was given to him, he loved and raised it, forget whatever perceived 'ties' exist, to me that's bs. I would have NEVER. lol

Everyone asking 'Why was Chi Cheng calling Chengyu's name??' is making me 🤣

I just assumed he'd received a message or call from Chengyu inviting him and Suowei to the birthday party, and CY would have mentioned WS and WZ were invited too. Put him a mood and made SW down too.

And then there's me, who would be fine with everyone else buggering off to do whoever and whatever and just leaving Chi Cheng and Chengyu to hook up _(:з」∠)_

Every scene, once again, so well executed and changed just perfectly to suit the adaptation. The dialogue, the emotions, the pacing, so damn satisfying. The last four episodes have all been peak, seriously.

I was sliiiiiightly disappointed the fight was kept 'soft' and no one was really worse for wear, but eh, it's BL and I guess they know the majority of viewers don't like gratuitous fight scenes?????? Better than a small badly make up'd bruise conveniently at the corner of the mouth that never fails to make me laugh (ya'll know what I'm talking about😂). Good to see bruised knuckles at least! Over all, even though the streamlined it (maybe the budget) it was still a good scene. Nailed it nailed it nailed it.

I have no particular fave scenes in this ep because I ENJOYED THEM ALL, all 40 some minutes were satisfying AF. Another week to wait but it's all good, this show is proving to be worth the watch with each new ep so I'ma chill and wait to enjoy what comes next!

Maybe I'll have more to say tomorrow, but ya'll know my brain flatlines whenever CC and CY kiss so right now I'm half glitched.

There will always be people who latch onto faves and then wanna be angry at people who have opposite opinions and faves instead of just accepting that people like and dislike different things and that they need to get over themselves. They can have at it lol

I am all about the GCY and CC, the visual of the 2 of them is INSANE, I was so keen for that kiss and was a little disappointed they didn't show the full extent of it, but oh well, life goes on. I'm wondering what (if anything) they will keep from the novel of GCY and CC after they make up, but I'm not holding my breath lol there was a lot of bad fanfiction shit in those parts of the novel too, so if they left it ALL out I'd understand it.

I'm not sure I know exactly what ghost ship means, I keep seeing it around. All I know is GCY and CC could have a whole BL about their history and that'd be hot af

OH YES, not just adrenalin, that's just one factor. Other factors include environment (professional fighters are used to fighting in rings and on training mats with gloves and pads etc), it doesn't compare to concrete and bare knuckles. And also stamina and being able to take a hit, never mind give one. I doubt all this will be relevant in the show, it's not gonna be that detailed XD but I'll still enjoy it!

"All of these characters are morally grey--like most people in real life" ~~ yep, I'm yet to be shocked by anything happening here, been highly amused for sure though 🤣 Yueyue is aiming for professional GD status, she's a material girl in a material world 🤣🤣

I'll be real, it's not that deep for me, I'm here for the drama and entertainment (and lowkey, the limited CC and CY scenes). I'm invested in the show as a whole, not any one character or any pair specifically, all the moving parts of this show and all the actors work together so well. I could pick apart the psychological aspects of this show, and maybe I will when it's over, but right now I'm just enjoying the ride. Everything else is just extra sauce and everyone is a hot mess and I'm loving it.

Anyone dismissing the bad actions and praising only the good in the characters are just using copium to get by. Don't mind them. SW was total shit in the novel, at least they've made him likeable in the series. But he got stacked issues, just like the rest of them.
Arguably, Yueyue has the least issues, girl's just a normal gold digger😂Arguably though, because she's pretty damn effed up too.

As for the last questions, it's probably the MDL staff being delayed. Someone must have submitted it, just as I submitted Gangzi over a week ago, but nothing has cleared yet.

Haha XD I just hope they do the fight scene well, and that it's not TOO short. (it'll probably be too short for my tastes) but not TOO short. I enjoyed the fight scene in ep 9. I already loved the preview of it, I'm stoked!

I dunno how the show is going to depict the fight, but what do you know about fighting in general? I love UFC, I love street fighting theory. Do you know the limitations of boxing and kickboxing? And Martial Arts versus Street Fighting? Martial Arts is all control and form and Street Fighting is all no holds barred and throw down. It's so good and the outcome is never guaranteed.

Buuuut off topic. CC and CY were shown to be able to fight in the earlier episode (ep 9), their physical fighting prowess and being dangerous is meant to be largely implied in the show. Still, aside from 'boxing' which is a very limited fighting art, WZ is supposed to be some kind of a badass (LOL), so it'll take two of them and maybe they won't even come out on top of the fight, who knows.

I hope they make the fight good.

I hear you, but can't agree, that 'colour blindness' thing qualified as bad fanfiction writing to me. Such a thing would have come up ages ago realistically in SW's relationship, writing something so random (and considering the extremely stupid circumstance under which CC found out about it in the novel) was really bad form, because SW is working in a designer/creative arts industry! How would he get by without people knowing? It's so nonsensical. I was l thinking they were gonna try to slip it in with the same 'idea' except making SW's watch water damaged so WZ would have to repair that and so on, but what they chose to do was so much better.

As for SW, I think they've adapted him well too. He was shit in the novel imo, but I like him in the show.

No excuses from me, if they all ended up in hospital with serious injuries I would still be entertained. I'll be cheering CC and CY on though. No cap. Keep angsting ✌️😂

Oh I LOVE IT. Me over here just loving the fact that Chengyu saw his bestie getting hit back in a fight HE started out of nowhere, and his first reaction is 'Bitch you did what to who? *breaks bottle on WZ's head* no questions asked.
