Personally, I think anything done with a person who is not one's lover/partner in a specifically monogamous relationship, with romantic/sexual INTENT (emotional or physical), can be considered cheating. I haven't seen anything like that here yet.

When he said he likes him, I took that as platonic, he does like WZ because he is 'cool' and skilled, but not in a romantic/sexual way. From my perspective, there is no cheating going on in this show thus far, even CC didn't cheat. I also don't think there are any crushes going on with anyone.

I cannot say how they compare to Meatbun or TJQ since I haven't read their stuff, but for Priest, I dropped Silent Reading because I didn't enjoy the diction and I got bored of the story, I dropped JitD similarly, but I finished KoD, even so, that's hardly any indicator of writing ability. KoD is not necessarily lighter, it just includes more humor, but the level of death and violence is basically the same. I've never found KoD or TS scary though, so can't vouch for whether it's 'horror'.

I mean, TECHNICALLY Tian Guan Ci Fu, Xie Lian's parents are just sort of by the by, minor characters. No one else has any parents to be concerned about for reasons of them being...well, gods. Anyway, it's an amazing novel, best of MXTX's work imo. I will always recc it.
