it's from Mainland China but it's not airing in China, that's why they don't need to censor anything this is not…
No Chinese censored BL is Bromance. Bromance is a legally forced tag for BLs and actual Bromance is its own genre. ALL censored BLs are GAY, don't get it twisted like these no-homo goggle wearing fools who whine about how 'they're just friends, don't make it gay'. Nope, if it's a censored BL adapted from a gay novel, IT. IS. GAY. THEY. ARE GAY. βοΈ
It was not that badβ¦ Iβve seen worst. π Chinese BLs are not known for the best kissing.
There have been SO much worse for sure π but we don't know what to expect yet. SHotLI kisses were good though, and TSiyE also isn't doing so bad in that department. I'm staying optimistic for better rather than worse in this.
This is not censored, it's not distributed in Mainland China, it's a proper BL.
Censored out of China would mean no kisses even implied, nothing gay implied period. This show is SO far from censored. As it currently stands it's only the 4th ep, we don't really know what to expect. And about them locking lips, their mouths definitely touched, we see that from the panned out angle. It's just my assumption, but this is not meant to be the big deal 'first kiss' just a first turning point for Suo Wei toward learning he's possibly not totally straight, so it wasn't meant to be in any kind of major focus. Just my op.
This is just four eps so far and it's already so fucking good. I did so many replays, and so much grinning and laughing, felt so many feels. I'm dead.
And Suo Wei really made a little blown sugar poop for Yue yue π and Chi Cheng really sent THAT gif emoji in response to 'what are you doing?' πππ his sense of humor is on point. I need more. I need it soon. It's gonna be a long 5 days.
Thank you so much for this very thorough and realistic comment.A funny (and a bit frustrating) thing is that when…
Being gay in China is not illegal, and in some places/cities, it's quite openly accepted. The problem is not the being gay in and of itself, it's because the government doesn't want the 'traditional family' image tarnished, they're terrified of the youth of the country realizing they don't need to be married and bogged down with children before 30 (because that's the going standard and expectation atm) and that they can actually be free to be whoever they really are, or be attracted to whoever they really want.
It's the same for straight smut/porn etc, China's government doesn't allow it because they feel it tarnishes 'traditional family values'.
So while being gay is not illegal (and unfortunately doesn't come with equal rights in many aspects), the government wants it kept strictly out of all media so as not to create more progressiveness than has already managed to slip into China through Western media and the wonderfully useful VPN. Hence all the arrests and fines and restrictions will continue within the Mainland. Fucking sucks.
"What illnesses do you treat? I'll go get one right now." AND THE AWARD FOR THE LEAST SEXY YET SOMEHOW STILL ATTRACTIVE PICK UP LINE GOES TO CHENG YU! That line killed me, I laughed and replayed it again. So good. And honestly I'm basically instantly down bad for both pairs and that NEVER happens to me. I'm very pleased.
And yeah, said it before a million times, I'll say it again: Nobody does BL like China. Their censored BLs are already in a league of their own, if non-censored BLs take off at full speed outside of the country itself, we'll be winning!
Side note: not a fan of the whole fucked up snake fight thing [not sure that's actually a thing but if it is, fuck whoever does it] and also, the snake breeders stuff, fuck them too.
I guess there is no such thing as taking drug test after the fight to makes sure everything is up and up that…
I thought about that, it is weird since the sport is big and properly regulated in Thailand. I can only assume they're going for the 'deep corruption' angle, like, the guys with money can buy off anyone to cover up their cheating.
Victor aside, like, I mean, reeeeeeally fucking aside, everything about the way this show is written and filmed and paced is really natural and well done. Even the 'excessive' type of comedy relief with the extra characters has its place. It's just very pleasant to watch.
Ah, but is that one who helped still on the good side? I'm not sure!
True, could also be that both Kawin and Nap are double crossing Sun, Kawin seemed awful chill about what happened at the warehouse. Heh. I like not knowing, I like the lack of predictability.
For the first time, in a non-slice of BL, they actually did a sex scene right imo. It would not have worked having…
Haha XD yep, that's why I said, there was def room for improvement. And yeah, their scenes in the latest ep were good, but Ait and Win are owning their asses as the better pair in Knock Out, at least to me.
Okay so I really enjoyed this episodes a lot, overall it was SOLID. But I have two personal notes:
1. The actions of Yut during the promo and reveal of Yut at the end feels like it's very obvs done just to make him less likable, to villainize him as a 'bad love rival', because ngl, I was lowkey liking him more than Thun for a while there. And ok, I'm not surprised by the writing choice because it's predictable whenever they introduce the love rival trope in BLs, they can't seem to do it right (i.e: one guy always has to turn out to be a pos because apparently the one in the middle of the rivalry would not be able to choose who he wants without one option being a douchebag????) eh, it's always a weak storyline choice in ANY show. I really don't think it was necessary, Yut and Thun fighting sans those negative developments would have been more interesting. Imagine them going toe to toe (not external factors influencing the outcome) and Thun really having to put effort forward to win against a worthy opponent. OR even more interesting, Yut winning and Keen (expectedly and logically) staying with Thun because whyrtf wouldn't he????? Ugh, love rivalry storylines always turn out to be poorly written shit. Oh well, at least the fight visual is gonna be lit.
On a more pleasant note: 2. Ait and Win could EASILY have been the lead couple in this, they're a great visual and their chemistry goes hard in every scene they have together. It also really hits that they have a bossyBottom and serviceTop dynamic, which is too rare, so seeing it here is a bonus. I would 110% watch these two in their own BL series. I don't often prefer second couples in BLs, but when I do, it's because they're just plainly better than the main couple lol

Good show. Keen for the next ep.
