Just a reminder to anyone who isn't aware yet, The Sparkle in your Eye, another uncensored Chinese BL is currently airing on Gaga, Viki and a few other sites. I just watched episode 7 and I have not been disappointed. Seriously, no country does emotional/character development and story building in a BLs like China, the end of ep 7 was 🤌
You won't find it on MDL though, because it's distributed out of Singapore.

So was all of that just linglings imagination or did it actually happen like after the game was filter, everyone…
So, the ending is a mixed bag, it offers a certain amount of ambiguity that allows you to decide what you want to think was real or not real. Below are the three most comment perspectives for the ending of the series (which vastly differs from the novel):

1) Comatose Jiushi wakes up and everything was a dream, so he spends the next 50 years creating the virtual world he dreamed about so he can see everyone one he dreamed of.

2) Jiushi had entered a virtual game world, then he 'wakes up' back in his reality after having purified the game, and the virtual world ceases to exist. Lanzhu included, he ceases to exist as he states he would in ep 36. So Jiushi spends the next 50 years creating the virtual world he experienced and the people in it, as a comfort for his loss before he dies.

3) Everything that happens in the series happens inside a virtual world, and after the virtual world is purified, everyone from the real world who lived/died in the virtual world returns to the real world with all their memories wiped and they go back to their normal lives.

Which one do you feel most likely fits the series ending? You can decide.
As for the 50 years, outside of the story, that's just China no-homo censorship bullshit. Can't have Jiushi be young and gay when he reunites with LanZhu, obvs, he has to be old and unable to have any kind of 'romance'. lol It was the next best thing to killing one of them off.

They’ve been doing a great job bypassing censorship on BLs in China lately.Actually, they’re not bad at all…
Yeah, since The Spirealm decided to sell outside of China, quite a few are following suit.

I personally loved Trapped in Osaka, even with only 4 eps and a low budget, it was more interesting, well acted and depicted than most 12 ep BLs, and the two MLs are 🤌As for Moon and Dust, I dropped that, blegh. I also REALLY liked The Sparkle in Your Eye, so well done.

Well it took me a long ass time but I finally finished this rn. This was an odd one, not over all in a good way unfortunately, but I watched it for Mark anyway. Many comments said the last two eps were better but I didn't really feel anything different, except the pacing hastened a lot. In the end, it's a 6.5 for me (and even that feels a tad generous, but I think the actors did what they could with the material) so, it's not Mark or Ohms or any of the cast's fault, just, whatever this script was, it should not have made it out of someone's draft folder.

Just rando fyi: The Spirealm was the one to break through, it was first taken down for sneaking its way passed censorship with a short episode format, but even censored it was too gay for the censors, so it got pulled off iQiyi very quickly. But the producers were clever, they dropped ALL eps at once, and in the mere few hours before it was taken down, fans had downloaded and started to distribute the show with AI subs and it gained popularity.
Eventually, the producers sold it outside of China for a proper re-release.

Meet You at the Blossom was released before Blue Canvas, but Blue Canvas was the next BL properly produced in China that was taken down, so they eventually sold the show outside the country to be re-released like The Spirealm. MYatB was directly filmed and released outside of China, which is what other Chinese producers are doing now to avoid any issues from the Mainland. So there are several more being released.

You might be better off not knowing what omegaverse is tbh. Just saying. The omegaverse got really popular through fanfiction, but its primary focus has some dubious ass themes. No judgement if you like it though, I'm not against omegaverse as a fiction genre, BUT I do not think it belongs in any kind of live adaptation, ever. I actually lowkey feel bad for the actors. lol

I'll be honest, I don't really like the "solution" to the curse they gave us.Apart from working or not working…
The lack of depth or proper flesh in this story is sadly because they probably wanted to make something with a Final Destination vibe (have you watched the latest one? Damn they really tied all the films up perfectly!), where Leap Day is about death coming for people destined to die, but unlike FD, GMMTV could never kill off a main character for fear or fan backlash or losing money so what we get is a story where they're gonna do some stuff that seems vaguely dangerous and immoral but is poorly explained, and ultimately, they're all still good loveable mains and it'll be a happy ending. I was keen for this show when it dropped, but it hasn't turned out to be much on the plot side of things.

what they need to do is consult an art therapist to interpret the drawings. darn it for me not being in Thailand…
They be pulling connections to those vague ass paintings out of thin air. The fold creases and clock theory would have made more sense if previously it had been noted that Ozone hates his drawings folded, or never folds them or something, the it might have stood out.

I actually burst out laughing, I specifically left the preview for the next ep to play, I wanted to see if they'd not show a preview (like some shows do when a major cliffhanger happens) or if they'd edit it ambiguously but NOPE, it's clear as anythin in the preview that Night survived. LOL so all those dreams Ozone had about Night dying (which I assume were supposed to be pseudo-foreshadowing to make viewers worry that Night would die if he tried the fake death and resuscitation thing, were wasted with that 'cliffhanger' because they outright said 'don't worry, soft GMMTV regular viewers, we'll never harm your fave male leads, please keep paying us and keep watching for a happy ending' LOL. I mean, for some of us, it was already clear the 2 main leads would survive no matter what, but damn, they barely tried to keep it suspenseful.
If there are any twists or surprises to come in this how, I'd be legit astonished.

Anyway, Wiwat made me laugh too though, bro has been killing random pregnant women every four years like it was all good and then when the group suggested their plan to flatline and be resuscitated he was like: https://i.postimg.cc/yW4746sn/gif.gif

Let’s be honest—Victor is clearly the narrative endgame. He’s sweet, stable, bilingual enough to flirt,…
I think it miiiiiight not be Victor, maybe not Nankrai 100% either though. That dream Tontrae had in the first ep was whackass and the whole 'it's your time with him', and Victor's wish in the last episode both hinted at something temporary. The show is also called I Promise I Will Come Back, so who's leaving and returning to who, and who's getting left behind with a promise of someone coming back. I like not knowing, but I also hate not knowing. hehe

As for me, I'm flying my ᐯIᑕTOᖇ GO ᕼOᗰE flag until something becomes clear.

Ps: Can we all just take a moment to appreciate that Tontae himself wrote and directed this and those scenes with him and Nankrai are 🔥🔥🔥
