How kiss scene was allowed, I don't get.... 😀 But whatever, I am not complaining 🤭
I don't know for certain, but what I assume about those particular cancelled censored BLs, is that it was because:
a) they are all adapted from famous/popular Danmei novels
b) they all had high budgets
c) they all have casts of well known Chinese actors with relatively large followings/fandoms
-and due to these reasons, they were more strictly locked down, possibly/probably having threatened the careers of everyone involved (as the Cn gov tends to do to major celebs who offend their delicate sensibilities) and so they can't be broadcast/released, ever. Unless of course, the Cn gov lifts the ban. The Cn gov doesn't seem to care too much about smaller or unknown actors, and that's why The Spirealm, In Your Heart and Blue Canvas did little to no major advertising before release and kept asking people not to blow the series up on social media. The point is to not draw the gov's attention.

So, as for international releases, I don't see those particular pre-filmed censored BLs getting released unless the ban is lifted, and in the case of Immortality, since the license has expired, it would need to be relicensed too. Additionally, since the Danmei's are SO famous, I also don't see the writers selling their IP rights outside of China. Their government may be homophobic, but the creators of those stories are still proudly Chinese, still proud of their culture and so they may want their works made within their country. If the rights get sold, those shows will have to be recast and remade and I assume that the original writers don't want that.

But I'm just answering this question based on what I've read and watched and observed over the years since the ban, I don't know anything for 100% certain. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

is it HEA?
Well, it depends on how you perceive the ending since it can be interpreted differently. Mostly, it's bitter-sweet, but some people find it to be happy enough and others find it a bit sad. Mixed opinions.

Qin Xiao : You are backThe way I laughed 🤣
What about:
Qin Xiao: "Come here."
Qi Lu: "ᴵ'ᵐ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵍᵒⁱⁿᵍ."
Qing Xiao: "Come."

This kind of angst feeds me.

This whole episode was soooooooo damn good, I mean, the layers of emotion and meaningfulness and dept of the conversations continue to hit so hard, and the expression of said emotions in the acting, the looks they give each other, the intensity they bring to every scene, and the feeling of the indecision and desire in each main character but holy shit, if that moment between Qi Lu and Qin Xiao was not THE BEST 'CONFESSION' SCENE IN A BL IN 2024, everything can fuck right off.
It's going on my profile under 'scenes that live rent free in my head' because it killed me, I died.

Thank you kindly.

So far do ya'll this one? I was exited yet now unsure since there is a lot of mixed opinions on tiktok.
I've just started on ep 1, decided I should try it myself to decide. I'll be honest, ep 1 didn't grab me so far. Lots of pauses and dramatic looks and nice cgi, good budget too, but so far no character or plot draws for me. But I'm gonna keep going and see if it improves.

I think they must be finding loopholes to bypass excessive scrutiny in order to get their shows broadcast. Some very short format Chinese BLs end up on YT too, and even on Biliblili, going unnoticed by the censors (unless some twat reports it on BB), then it'll get taken down.

The Spirealm as well, they first 'snuck' it past censorship. That's why The Spirealm also aired on iQiyi first before it was pulled within 2 hours. In the actual censorship process, I read somewhere that The Spirealm slipped by censors with it's short ep release format, no intro or outro, no frills, no hype, no advertising, managing to find some minor loopholes that at first made the censors not scrutinize it so much and so it got licensed. I'm not sure what Blue Canvas did, maybe they found some other loophole, but in the end it still got pulled. I think iQiyi will accept anything with a license, then take it out when they're told to, like a puppet, does as directed. Air, don't air.

But honestly, there are no clear deets about how Blue Canvas made it's way to iQiyi that I could find. I'm just glad it made it's way out of China.

Just hang there for the next couples story...!! North and Johan have better chemistry and their story seems to…
I appreciate the encouragement, but I already dropped it last week, at ep 5 😅 it's for the best though, since I'm not interested in the other couples anyway.

In the 10th door, are you talking about the chocolate scene? That scene is in ep 33, at around 22 min in.
The first time Lanzhu makes that promise should be ep20, at around 26.30.

Was there a scene recently cut? Or did I just miss it...? I'm re-watching on Viki and am now in the 10th door…

They didn't comply with censorship, probably refused to remove anything, hence it was pulled from iQiyi, so the license to broadcast in China is not valid. When they released it outside of China, they don't have to remove cut anything.

Yes and yes, 2022. Totally negative vibes though, wasted BL. It was rapey. Just like Addicted was rapey.
Yeah, I dropped MYatB. I ain't about that rapey stuff. Some Cn BL writers seem to think two males + forceful sex = not rape. Yeah. No. Still rape.

i think the biggest thing in this series is that china hasn’t gone against it. they immediately remove any bl’s…
This series was taken down in China, it's now rebroadcasting internationally and not allowed to be aired in China.

yeahh please head out and read the novel from which the series has been adapted so that you are able to understand…
You should try not to get offended about something you clearly misunderstand, it says a bit too much about your questionable mental state. I never said anything was wrong with the technical acting, I am simply not interested in watching Santa act in that kind of role, as that kind of ditzy character, hence I won't be reading the novel either, since I don't like the character. If that is not something you can understand, you cannot be helped. Do try to maintain some control over your butthurt though, for your own sake of not sounding like a pressed dumbass.

can someone explain why the deaf guy can talk,??
I think we don't know enough about Tan Yin's deafness yet to judge. I suspect his deafness might have come from the abuse he faced in the institution, in which case, he wouldn't have too much trouble learning how to speak again. If not, and it's that he's been deaf most of his life or summat, then it's a writer flaw. We just have to wait and see.

I have never, and will never, like Addicted. I don't care who says what. And yeah, they ignore it, some viewers even call it 'BL culture' as if rape in a BL is all sweet and dandy, just the natural process of things. Ugh. Anyway, it wasn't even a good BL, even besides the fact that it was rapey.

It's ironic though, that it gained most of its traction and popularity AFTER the gay media restrictions in China, and it's funny that many people who think it's so great probably don't realize that Addicted was the initial REASON for the first phase of BL censorship in China. That rapey shit, with teens on top of everything else, drew all the wrong kinds of attention from the government.

If you don't like it, hold that W. Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good.

Haven't watched any eps yet but I do read the comments after every ep airs and most of the people here seem to…
As someone who only decided to watch this for Santa, I'll be honest, I was already skeptical after they showed a snippet of him in ep one, but I wanted to give it more of a chance and stuck around, but after seeing him even just for his proper entry scene of episode 3, I can't make it. I'll neutrally say, that if the character is supposed to act like THAT, as people say he is in the novel, then Santa is playing the role well, however, in the end, it's gonna' appeal to some and put some other's way off. I'm the latter. I do not find that sort of character pleasant to watch. But you should watch and decide for yourself.
