Started this series after reading the comments and definitely not disappointed. Among a shit ton of BLs released,…
It absolutely is fantastic, it's way better than 95% of BLs released in 2024 imo, but underrated AF, which is how it goes when the actors themselves don't have hoards and hoards of fans who'll bump the rating. Here's another one that is banging other BLs of 2024 but is not well known: https://kisskh.at/761703-lu-guo-wo-nian-shao-shi-guang-de-lan-se

Am i missing something? Im asking honestly. 8.9 rating seems too high! I was waiting to binge this show as the…
Ratings on MDL are like the points on Whose Line Is It Anyway.; They Don't Matter. Always take the ratings with a pinch of salt, and if you're curious or interested, then watch and judge for yourself. I have my own opinion on this show's rating, which I'll select once it's completed airing, but I will say, if you watch it to be entertained unseriously, it's very fun.

Another Thai BL I'm only gonna' try out for one BL actor, Joong. Sigh, I'll dip if it's bad but I will try it first.

SO BASICALLY ALL THIS BOYS ARE GAY WITH EACH OTHER.... I've been a BL fan for years now and I wouldn't mind the…
Haha! Yep, it is absolutely unrealistic, that's a fact. But in MDL comments, complaining about too many non sensical gay characters in a BL makes some viewers upset 😂 and they will make many excuses for why excess gay is A-ok. It's pointless trying to discuss it reasonably, I've gotten to a point where I just try to ignore it.

Despite the supernatural ring and all the emotional stuff (the latter being lost on me, since I was never emotionally invested in any characters in this show, and episodes 10 and 11 had a lot of that) I still enjoyed 11, I enjoyed the entertaining highlights, like the peanut gallery's wild 'plans' and the ending scenes of 11 where the craziness has escalated, especially the fighting/beat down scenes. It seems to be back on track with the hijinks and bizarre shenanigans with how it closed out. So, only one ep left, no reason not to see it through!

Exactly it makes my blood boil knowing how underrated this is :(
In a sense, yes, it's because people have been 'burned' by Cn BLs in the past, hence the reason so many commenters are mentioning China and sad endings and saying they're worried and still questions censorship despite the BC clearly not being censored. People seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop, expecting the worst as it were.

I personally don't think it's gonna' end badly, but everyone's idea of a bad ending differs so.

@22.45 Qin Xiao glanced at Qi Lu’s neck and then he goes for it 🤯🤯🤯😍
He knows what's up and he's not shy to make his moves 😁

As someone who liked Phun and Noh together from the beginning, episode 10 had a satisfying conclusion.

I am now going to spend to spend the week recovering from episode 8 which served some dessert with the angst. Yum.

It's not a BL, it's a gay drama ... very big difference imho.
Your points don't actually remove the fact that these are repetitive tropes and traits featured in BLs that would not be obviously or conveniently done, or done at all, in LGBTQ+ shows. Also, everything that happens in (non supernatural) BLs can technically happen in real life, so that isn't really much of statement you've made. But at any rate, we can agree to disagree. Everyone is free to enjoy and view it however they like.

Holy crap, the contrast in the episodes of the high FEELS for Qin Xiao and Qi Lu versus the ouch FEELS for Liu and Tan Yin, it was like a sensual stroke followed by a painful jab wtaffffff, another stroke and another jab. OOUCH. I love it. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely not complaining. Hurts so Good, hits so GOOD.
I mean The FLIRTING between QX and QL!
And That HUG @ 19.47 🫶
And That LOOK QX gives QL @ 20.45 🫠

----in fact ALL of Qin Xiao's looks at Qi Lu are like 'Boo, I'm always on the verge of trying to kiss you' -ᴰᵒ ᴵ ᵂᵃⁿⁿᵃ ᴷⁿᵒʷ ᵇʸ ᴬʳᵗⁱᶜ ᴹᵒⁿᵏᵉʸ'ˢ ᵖˡᵃʸⁱⁿᵍ ⁱⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵃᶜᵏ ᵒᶠ ᵐʸ ᵐⁱⁿᵈ- cause the VIIIIBBBESSS between them are so charged and smooth and sexy but sweet and that 3 am date was so excellent. And Qi Lu is not fucking around with staring at his bae like he can't help himself and I ain't even playing when I say that at the same time as Qi Lu was saying 'Oh my, no wonder you have no shortage of girlfriends.' @ 9.22 I was thinking 'Qin Xiao wasn't kidding, bro knows how to run that GAME.' 🔥 🔥 🔥

This is just getting better with every episode, and real talk, people be worried about them being separated but I'm thinking we might see these two stand up to be together despite whatever might try to pull them apart, or at least that's what I WANT to see. Everything about Qi Lu's temper hints at him telling his dad to fuck off if he feels like something might interfere with him 'loving the one he loves' especially since he was only focused on that last sentence 🤣 Qi Lu is a GEM, bb is so honest!

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH SATISFACTION.

It's not a BL, it's a gay drama ... very big difference imho.
While it is correct that LGBTQ+ series and BL are not the same, this is a BL. It is very well acted, directed and filmed and definitely is raising the bar, but it is a BL, made obvious by its specific traits and tropes. Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head, in no particular order and including but not limited to:
1. One 'privileged' ML / One 'working class' ML
2. Slow motion dream like scenes and long stares to highlight 'moments'
3. A specific second gay couple (in case viewers don't like the leads)
4. Whump (hurt/comfort for those unfamiliar with the term) both necessary or exaggerated, where the MLs need to treat each others wounds/illness.
5. A female character in love with one ML to create some drama

There are probably more, but honestly, all of them are quite subtle in this show and I'm loving it, I think it's great. Other BLs could take some notes from this on how to execute tropes in a non-obvious/obnoxious way.
Still, it's a BL, just a very well done one.
