Watched it. Worth a one time watch simply because the series was so great, but over all it lacked the magic of the series. Could honestly have done without it.
^^This! How can we encourage more LGBT productions from China if we're just going to boycott? Even though the…
No Cn censored BL is a bromance, that's an obligatory tag, they have no choice but to call it that under China's no homo government. The rest comes down to an individual's expectations of overt sexual physicality between the leads.
I'm halfway through ep 4. I think I'm feeling a bit off about this because I don't like Pond as an actor. I didn't even like him as a side character in Century of Love either. But I'm trying to be neutral as a viewer and I'm hanging in there.
It's not about supporting the Chinese government or not, it's about not supporting censored LBGT material. If…
"It's not like the Chinese government cares about whether you boycott or not." ~
Simple, straightforward, fact. Not watching is more up their alley than anything else, they'd be happy if the BL industry in China shriveled up and died. I just ignore people who say they boycott censored BLs, just as their boycotting doesn't matter to China, it doesn't matter to me. I'ma watch it and enjoy it either way.
we have so many common favorite dramas like The Untamed , We Best Love , To my Star etc .
But of course the MOST important one is The Untamed hands down. I can admit The Spirealm is a very close second to my top choice though. I suppose for you that would be Word of Honor?
Just finished ep 4. If they can top ep 3 and 4 in these remaining eps I look forward to it. In ep 3 and 4, emotionally/romantically/plot wise, they did what many BLs fail to do in 12 eps. Nice.
Random note: For anyone in doubt, please know that Ruan Lanzhu tells Ling Jiushi that he is the only exception to Lanzhu not liking to share a bed with anyone. He makes Tan Zao Zao sleep on the floor guys 😂 There is no heterosexual explanation for that.
Are ya'll drunk, why's the rating so low? Just finished ep 4. If they can top ep 3 and 4 in these remaining eps I look forward to it. In ep 3 and 4, emotionally/romantically/plot wise, they did what many BLs fail to do in 12 eps. Nice.
Nah, we were robbed cause episode 3 deserves at least an 8 ep series. It made the first two eps seem like a joke. wtf. But at least ep4 is a continuation so I'm not so mad.

University BLs are hit or miss, this one is a hit so far. Fourever You is trying the same thing rn, but it's more of a miss imo. It's a slippery slope!
I'm sorry but the smile Arm gives when Jet says they're all close right after Arc insults him, when Arc is grabbing…

Okay, so objectively, as someone who is not a fan of 95% of GMMTVs BLs, or a fan of Book and Force (neutral about them), and as someone who still considers Together With Me (a university BL) to be one of the best BLs ever, to this day, I can honestly say this show is not bad at all. The comments here are very black and white, hate or love, either loved by default because of the actors or hated because of the university theme, but all in all, while it's an overdone theme and it has all the usual tropes, it's been done well enough to be entertaining. And entertaining is all it's aiming for and all it needs to be.
Personally, I came to watch this for Santa (and I am still looking forward to seeing more of him), but this is actually surprising me because for the first time I actually like the dynamics of Book and Force's characters. I didn't enjoy them in other BLs they've lead. And the show itself has sort of taken things back to basics with exaggerated moments and bad flirting (Arc's flirting game is negative 1000 LOL) and hammed up situations that could be easily dealt with in a realistic situation, and lots of over dramatics that are laughable. I liked the first ep of this over all.
For people who don't like this type of show or who are not used to it, keep in mind that it's INTENTIONALLY done this way, it's meant to be over the top. It feels a little old school and that's fun imo. If it's done poorly, it flops, but if it's done well, it can be a hit. Let's see how it out.
Side note: 24 eps is not a bad thing, but 1 ep a week is. That airing format is too drawn out.
