Most of the buddies here, must have been pissed at Pran for having apologized to Wai although he was not in the wrong. I would like to list down some reasons as to why he did it
1) Pran's transfer and his personality:
It is well known to all that Pran was transferred as an aftermath of that Christmas incident and he lost Pat and all his cherised friends forever. Wai was an important person in his life. He just didn't want to lose another person again, not matter how shitty that person turned out to be. Kind of like his default reaction to his trauma.
2) Wai being friends with Pran's mom:
We all know that Wai was well acquainted with Pran's mom since he used to pay her visits from time to time. Pran was basically terrified of his manipulative mother and what she could do if she got the wind of the fact that Pran was in a relationship with Pat.
3) Wai's importance and position in Pran's life.
I was talking about this with a few buddies yesterday.... That in this show, we're not shown the years when Pran had been separated from Pat.
Pran at that time must have been an emotional mess. Wai must have been his safe zone at that point in time.
Pran seeking safety in his presence kind of led a sense of entitlement in Wai. Wai is supposed to know everything that is going on in Pran's life since he helped him get back up on his feet.
Pran might have never questioned his thoughts about Wai's intrusive behavior, since he's so blinded by the fact that Wai had saved him.
