For this, I read the book first and then i watched the drama online. I forget where did i watch this. But for sure i watch 2 version of this. But i more like the older version then this new version. Why? Because i think the older version is more alike the book. The chemistry between the main couple, Yun Fan (YF) and Zi Ling (ZL), is more nailed it.
What i like from the new version is the cast is more handsome & beautiful, especially YF. In the older version the age difference between YF and ZL seem too much, because maybe the appearance of YF seem too old. Yes their age difference is double. But with the new version their age difference seems not to much, because YF is seen more successful and fashionable.
But overall, I still more like the old version than the new one.

Ashes of love is one of the most enchanting love story. Watched this makes my feeling quite roller coaster along with the story line. I'm not too agree with the summary given by MDL. For me night deity / Run Yu (RY) intentions toward Jin Mi (JM) is not only for use her against fire deity / Xu Feng (XF). He is really in love with JM. Yes unfortunately he also use JM to against XF, but that's not his first intention.
This drama gives us love will happen whatever obstruct it from happening. In this drama, of course, the unfeeling pill. Unfeeling pill only make the love more hurtful then it supposed to be.
This drama divided into 2 phase. Before and after unfeeling pill. That's why they climax also 2 times. 1st part is the happy part and the 2nd part is the disaster & sad part. Really can't hold my tears in the 2nd part....
What most sad is the first climax part where JM killed XF. I have to fast it forward, really can't stand to watch it. And when XF betrayed JM with Sui He (SH)
I don't know who to give the trophy of stupid love to: the nominee are Kuang Lu (KL) with unreturned love toward RY, RY crazy love for JM and SH stupid love toward XF. Although i never understand the reason why SH have to killed JM father.
Agreed with missnymeria, the mortal realm part very interesting and everything in the drama made me care about every single character. Like Mu Ci and Princess Bian Cheng, KL feeling toward RY.
Love the ending where we given view of JM and XF live after they get together. Admired RY, in the end he can understand the mistake and stupidity of his own.
Re-watch: love to re-watch, but can't stand the middle part. Too sad...

Used to loved this drama so much. Used to in love with Ambrose Hsu (he is so handsome in here :D). But watch it again right now there is a little odd in the story. Especially the ending it's like fast forward wanna quick end.
Overall: Very good drama at they time, but right now yeah a little bit outdated. But still love the soundtrack.

I don't usually watch Korean drama. Mostly because i don't too like the actor and actress (too many plastic surgery makes me feel they all the same face) and not too much like the language (sorry). Sometimes i feel Korean drama also too exaggerated in someway more than Chinese drama. But with king of baking i don't think they exaggerated at all. Everything just in their place.
A little flaw:
> Shin Yoo Kyung (SYK) feeling toward Goo Ma Jun (GMJ) is a little bit odd. How come she just jumping to like him... Odd for me.
> Kim Tak Goo (KTG) character development you can say too positive... Yeah I know that's what good from KTG himself. But don't you think is odd people with the background like KTG can grow into that positive. He also seems have no problem with his dad what so ever.
Like: KTG finally choose Yang Mi Sun and not hanging in his feeling toward SYK.
Love: The ending where they finally get along together.
Re-watch: One time is enough for me

Really in love with Xing Zhao Lin after The Eternal Love. Really looking forward for his other drama just to see him... :P But really happy to watch this drama.... This drama like sulkytofu say so Fluffy, sweet, funny, and very daily romance. Really love the connection between Xia Ke (XK) and Xing Yun (XY). Loved how until the end XY can support XK without so much word.
What i don't like:
> In the beginning kinda frustrated how stupid XK is. He clearly love XY but why don't want to acknowledge it. Can't he even see XY just pretend to date He Yu... One can't just that easy to change their feeling.
> Really annoyed by Zhang Si Rui appearance in the end of the drama and the stupidity of XK. Yeah i understand when XK grandma sick he want to shelter XY from anything than can hurt her. But can't XK at least explain by phone. Hello.... Is your phone being bug until you can't even explain to XY by phone.... Really pissed me off.
What i love:
> How in the end Shen Qing is really not a stupid woman and she choose the right man for herself and her child. Even though her decision feel just jump to conclusion but we can't blame the scrip in here because however their relationship are not the main focus of this drama.
> Love how even though Yao Qing in love with XK but she is not a stupid woman that willing to do anything in the name of love and winning over XK. Happy in the end she can be together with He Yu.

Watch this because of Zanilia Zhao. Stand to watch till the end because really curious how Ming Lan (ML) and Gu Ting Ye (GTY) end up together. Summary write by Jordan can't be more spot on. As Jordan say: "ML suffers from neglect from her family that make ML acknowledges the reality of her situation and the world she lives in and chooses to be smart about it instead of letting it define her. While GTY experiences a lot of abuse from his family" especially from his cunning step mother that make him into "straightforward with his actions and never hides his true self" Both ML and GTY quite cunning in their own way to survive their life.
What make me really can't wait to the end is really how ML and GTY end up together, because half of the drama we really can't get the grip how they will end up together. I skip it few times just to find out when & how exactly they end up together, but still rewind again and patient enough to watch full episode... ^_^
If you search for love episode between GTY & ML just jump to half of the drama. Because first half just explain to us how ML got her personality and 'knowledge'. GTY himself not so much screen time. Mostly about ML and her family. But the second half... OMG really bring tense to another level. Second half give us how ML used her 'knowledge' that she get from the first half to handle GTY family and to handle GTY problem with the emperor family.
What really funny is how sometimes GTY is really childish when he can't handle how ML is really closed herself up from him. And when ML angry with him, he even can smile or laugh.
Really shock about the truth ending of GTY slander by emperor. But impress how brave and crazy GTY really is. Really love the ending how the entire family (ML & GTY) unite together.
Cast: For me the cast really fit their role. Really choose perfectly for their role :)
Loved episode:
> When GTY Explain to ML how he cunningly make ML have no choice but to married her. And ML reaction when she tell her grandma really spot on. If i was ML i will feel the same. She said: "Firstly she really happy, because never expected there will be someone try that hard to win her over. Second she so mad like she want to slap him. Finally she afraid how to handle the cunning GTY." ^_^
Re-watch: Love to re-watch it again. Not from the beginning but only from GTY and ML end up together >.^

Watched this because watched the trailer in YouTube and think it's funny to watch. Happy to watched it. ^_^What i think is funny is the Ji Heng (JH) is called in the drama. He's called ji shuai, which can be literary translate to 'handsome ji' :D. And yeah he is so handsome in here.
Most funny scene: Where everyone in the mansion really think JH is gay but JH do not want to hide his relationship or his felling toward Tian Qi (TQ)
Story Flaw:
> I think the episode where JH find out that TQ is a girl and they become couple a little bit to fast forward. Yeah i agreed JH already fall in love with TQ and very happy to know that TQ is a girl and he want to fetch the opportunity before his brother can get it. But still too fast forward & become flaw in my opinion.
> I also can't feel the struggle that TQ feel when she find out that JH family really responsible for her family dead. It's like cut off to the end where she just forgive anything JH family do because of the name of love. In the reality is not and never that simple :D
Re-watch: Love to re-watch several episode but still can't get over for the story flow, so not gonna watch from begin to the end :P

I watch this because i see Xing Zhao Lin as Mo Lian Cheng (MLC). I saw him in princess agent and think he is handsome so look for another drama by him and really glad find this drama ^_^The chemistry between the main leads is really good, really looking forward for another drama cast by them. There are a lot of sweet and funny moments between them.
Story flaw:
>First: kinda confuse with how the story start. What happen...? Why she look for bed, why can she come to the past. I think it's will be better if they start when she find the bed in the future or when Qu Tan Er (QTE) try to kill herself. But no.... They have to star it from Qu Xiao Tan (QXT) awake in the morning and asking Jing Xin (JX). But afterall is all good.
> Second: they change exchanging consciousness condition between QTE and QXT. When i watch it, at first I think QXT conclusion about how QTE and QXT changing consciousness by knock out is spot on, but later (i don't know why) they change it into changing consciousness by lying. Even though in the summary they did tell the changing happen because of lying, but when you watch few first episode i don't think so....
Cast: Really love the cast interact with each other from the start to the end.
Re-watch: Love to & already re-watch it for several times... ^_^

Firstly i kinda lazy to watch it, but every time i search for Chinese drama this always comes up as a recommendation. But finally never regret watch it & re-watch it again and again. This one of the Chinese drama that I love to re-watch it again and again. The cute tong nian (TN) and the cool han shang yan (HSY) firstly kinda not really suitable, but in the end they kinda completed each other. This kind Love At First Sight we always dream to be our reality that i think attract most us to the story. Their awkwardness in the beginning until their sweet attitude with each other really drawn me to them.
In the review there is someone write about not bring the TN intelligent forward, but for me when TN can understand what HSY play about it show the intelligent of TN because i really have no idea what they playing about... -_- But yeah a little agreed there because I actually kinda expect TN to be join the team in the end when the say they need new blood to the team.
This drama can make me smile to myself when see the behavior of TN when she so happy and so fall in love... So childish, but also so cute...
My most fav scene when TN drunk, especially when she answer her mom call. I can't stop laughing.... :D My fav song is bread and butter so easy to listen. :3

Watched this of course because of Dilireba and Deng Lun. But in the end this is one of the good drama to watch.Review write by Quenstenite quite spot on. Yes this drama you can say sweet, funny and relaxing. Especially after Ling Ling Qi (LLQ) and Bo Hai (BH) together. Seeing them together feel so sweet & childish in someway.
And yeah i agree to with Quenstenite, later in the story the writers seem to forget about the dreams altogether which was a bit disappointing for me too. Even though dream as a connection is a very interesting aspect for this drama.
The dream itself for me yeah a little bit cringe at some first episode. Yeah you can do anything you like at dream but still not like that... ^_^
Don't like: The problem in the end drama a little bit force to be there. Seem that they need big problem but can't find another, so just create problem like that.
Overall: If you just looking for good and enjoyable drama to watch you can watch this drama.
Re-watch: just several scene & episode.

Yeah I've drop this...
Congratz to this drama to become the first drama that I've drop this year. Haha.... How much I hope I can endure this drama due to Yang Mi. But the overall story make me less and less interested with the whole picture. Even the flirting between our lead can't make me hang on to this drama, more over because all of the dubbing also make me less and less interested with this drama.Long time heard about this drama really make me interested to watch this. But for me this drama talk about too many kingdom that I need to put my attention, too many political issue that I don't give a damn care. If only they finished one kingdom at a time maybe I can endure more. But for me, one kingdom haven't finished they already move to another kingdom. That's just too much. More over about the 5 color stone and it's connection to Fu Yao still also so long to talk about.
And that's it. Enough too many things happen in the drama just push my button & I just can't take it anymore

Usually with the short dama, at least I'm still willing to linger around to watch how the plot will go forward. But this... I've enough of the nonsense. And I've zero tolerance left for it...
Story about what...? I don’t understand at all nor do I care anymore... From the very first episode they already don't give us a damn clue about what is this. A litte bit clue here and there about virtual world that I really don't understand. And right now nor do I care what's this about anymore...
So... Just watch other drama. Tik tok short video even better than this one...

I watched it because i quiet intrigue with the title. But a little disappointing with the story flow after all. Right now still to lazy to watch it to the end, just watch the ending is enough for now. Don't know in the future... I think the character guide line write by ani411 is quite spot on. Can't more agreed than that.
What makes me lazy to watch is because i really don't like Chun Hua (CH) character. She so flip flop from Qiu Yue (QY) and Xiao Bai (XB). There is a little flop she moved from XB to QY, another flop moved back again from QY to XB. Maybe it's also because i really like QY character & i don't think CH give him enough credit. Really pissed me off... :(

Let's compare the Thai version...
Finally watch this after I can't keep my curiosity anymore for this re-make. Quite happy to watch this...If I draw 1 conclusion between Thai & Japan version, for me the Thai is more like down to earth or more connected with me. I don't know is it because my country is closer to Thai than Japan, so I can relate more with this version. Or maybe because it just have more episodes, so they have more duration to explain some stuff. I'll try to explain it as much as possible...
The more 'down to earth' or what i more like:
+ The growth relationship between Achi & Karan better than Adachi Kiyoshi & Kurosawa Yuichi. I can't really explain how, maybe i just more like it....
+ The way Karan look into Achi is more obvious than Kurosawa to Adachi. The Thai version is kinda have broke 4th wall rule, we can see several times when Karan smile behind Achi, the smile that have obvious meaning....
+ The viewfinder of Karan toward Achi. We see how much care Karan of Achi. This proven by the speech Karan give about Achi in company gathering or the little gesture that Karan did for Achi everyday. I don’t remember such things from Japan version, maybe I'm wrong, or it just not too deep imprint in my mind...
+ The cuter Jinta than Tsuge Masato. And that's make the relationship between Jinta & Min is cuter too.... But at the same time Jinta is really one stereotypes characteristics of Gay man.
+ The strong Pai. I really like the strong & quirky Pai. The way she burst out to her ex is really fun to watch....
+ The 'dumb' Rock. Although Rokkaku Yuta is also a little 'dumb'. But I feel Rock is more innocent vibe than Rokkaku & that's make him cuter too...
+ The relationship between Pai & Rock. I really like & happy Thai version make the relationship between Pai & Rock happen.
+ A little Japanese touch. Yeah this one specifically for this version. I like they still make the boss be an expatriate that comes from japan, we can hear from his accent.
+ The growth in Achi. In here we can see Achi want to grow in his career. He consider quiting cause he feel his career is go nowhere, so instead allowing Achi to quit,his boss offer him new position. In japan we see no such, Adachi quite comfortable with his position in the firm. Yeah I know, this much have connection with Japan office culture.
The minus from this version is maybe that Karan put too much effort for Achi, so it seem imbalance for their relationship. I mean when Achi want to move city & they decided to separated beforehand.
Overall both series is good in their own way... I quite happy to watch both version.

The title is not suitable
One drama that the title really does not describe the story at all. This is the first time I think the title is really far away from what is inside the story. Maybe this drama is supposed to exchange titles with One & Only. Although One & Only & Forever & Ever is really a rhyming title, One & Only more suits this one & rebirth for you really suited for forever & ever from the story side.I really confuse with the English title of this drama. Rebirth for you, but the story none at all about reincarnation. How can you give rebirth to the title... If you just translate the native title 慕南枝, is more likely to be yearn for something maybe more fit with the story. Because yeah this drama about everything yearning for something, there is character yearning for love (almost obsess even), Qing Tai yearning for power, Li family yearn for clarification about injustice assassination their clan years ago. See... everything about yearning for something.
I haven't for a very long time hated one, let alone some particular character like this one. This drama has 3 stupid people that don't want to let go their love obsessions' & 1 person really be quite delusional too. I really want to slap all the character below to just wake them up. Here they are:
* Gao Miao Rong: She is really one thorn in the flesh for Li Family. In the end she was quite pitiful too.. When she already gives up she must be dragged back to the place where you can say center of the storm for her life. But thanks to the love from Li Lin in the end she still make a right decision. Yeah sometimes people said, to heal the love wound what you need is a new love is just so true.
* Han Tong Xin (the empress): She wants the emperor for herself. But as we all know, emperor never only belong to 1 woman. Yeah a little bit pity actually as her, at the end she has to witness her love died in the arms of her love rival. If only she find about the emperor love sooner maybe the story will gonna be a little bit different for her.
* Zhao Xiao (ZX): maybe among them all the most pitiful but also quite delusional is ZX. His situation reminds me of one particular word from Qin Yue from forever love when he confesses to Xia Lin Xi, "The most painful thing is not having never had it, but for almost being able to make it." Yeah, ZX situation really fit this sentence, he was almost together with Jiang Bao Ning (BN) but never got a chance in the end. But that doesn't make everything what he do in the name of love right, just like BN said, "I don't know if your love is true love or just being stubborn & selfish." Only blind person can't see the love between BN & Li Qian (LQ). But unfortunatelly the problem for ZX is the question of 'what if...' still always hanging in the air...
What I like:
+ I really like all the interaction between the couple here. Jiang Bao Ning (BN) & Li Qian (LQ), Li Dong Zhi & Qing An, even Dong Shan Hu (SH) & Jin Xiao (JX). Unfortunately the interaction between SH & JX is not so often in this drama.
+ Grand Empress Dowager is very cute grandma. Happy to see the actress Cao Cui Fen is still quite healthy to play in the drama.
+ LQ's step mom really one good step mom & quite funny actually in a way. Her interaction with LQ's dad also quite funny.
What a little bit out of place, or could be better in another way:
- The scene after LQ 'kidnap' BN from Qing Tai & having fight scene in the front of BN room. It just so weird BN didn't come out to see all the commotion, even maybe she just see what Bai Su & her husband brought from Grand Empress Dowager, if that me & I hear all the commotion, most probably my love one being beat up by my cousin, I will gonna come out & at least yell for them to stop. And after that what LQ said to ZX is simply just so sweet, if there's the scene where BN hear what he said, isn't it gonna be better...
- Several of the scheme in the drama sometimes just so confusing, not enough explanation in the drama.
- How BN as a princess to be said not getting enough nutrition when she was little (explanation by the monk when BN got potion from the arrow). She is a princess and grow up in the palace, where all the best nutrition stored, doesn't that mean she should be get the best nutrition ever possible... BN also not an outcast princess who can't get the nutrition she needed, even before she enter the palace, she's also not just random orphan girl who can't get food. See doesn't make sense....
Overall this is quite good drama that can suck me from the very first episode. Even though this drama turn out to be more than 45 min, the usual min for c-drama world, usually I often quite bored with longer duration, but I really enjoy this & not find this drama boring,
