My favourite airing drama right now. I love the dialogs, the messages, the background music, the visuals, the mystery, even the slow pace. It's eerie and relaxing at the same time, and when the leads are together I just can't help smiling.
Excruciatingly slow, this could easily be cut into a movie. The dialogs are 90% pauses, repetition, or silent crying. I broke my finger fast forwarding and can't take it anymore after 10 episodes
It was really hard to get through the first episode and I dropped it twice in a year. Too many jumps in the timeline, confusing. But after 3 episodes I'm hooked.
So far the Iqiyi SweetOn line up (Moonlight, The day of becoming you, this) is quite good, high quality, and surprisingly enjoyable despite weird or boring setups.
I know that, I'm not blaming them but it ruined my mood. :')
I'm sorry, it must be pretty disappointing and spoiling the whole experience :(
It's just that you wrote that you wish the writer didn't try to get super creative, as if it was purely their creative decision and they could do it without.. I was referring to it.
red flags and stuff aside, can we appreciate the aesthetics? Shots, angles, right amount of slow motion, music.. kdramas on average are pretty good with these but this is above that average. The dream scene was amazing. Maybe because the director is a woman it just hits different chords.
Yes! Couldn't agree more. That's why I only watch ancient/historical Cdramas. I still can't stand modern Cdramas…
recent modern cdramas where I think there was no dubbing: Love is Sweet, Go Ahead, Find Yourself, The Day of Becoming You, Moonlight, Perfect and Casual, Meeting you
I'm fine with dubbing in historical fantasy dramas, it seems organic in that unreal setting. But when dubbing is used in modern settings dramas I just can't take it seriously.
