☺️ It was funny that in ep 23, it was Wei Shao who was trying to drop hints about his gift, and Manman was the clueless one. In the end, true to his nature, he even openly asked about the heart guard mirror...lol...
Manman is offering us a masterclass in navigating the heart of a deeply masculine man like Wei Shao. She has an uncanny sense of timing—knowing exactly when to stand her ground and when to yield, when to assert herself and when to soften. Her emotional intuition is remarkable; she sees through the gap between Wei Shao’s words and his true intentions. She has the kind of insight that only comes from deep understanding.
Wei Shao, by contrast, lacks her subtlety and eloquence, but he brings a raw honesty that is equally compelling. He speaks plainly, often gruffly, but when he chooses to express tenderness, it is heart-melting. His sincerity emerges not in grand declarations, but in quiet, revealing moments—like when he initially dismissed his gift the hairpin, only to later admit, with surprising indignation, how much thought he had truly put into it.
One went down in ep 7 and how sweet it was to see Zang Hai take him down. I don't know what happens next but I will be binge-watching the rest of the episodes today!
Glad you join the club jules😝I thought uncle ji would survive But apparently not… almost halfway to go..…
I actually watched ep 1 when it started airing but it was too heavy for me then. Glad I continued now because it is a good show...the way the story pulls you in, and make you go through a roller coaster of emotions. Plus the ML's acting is excellent!
I just started and got to ep 7...there had been some emotional scenes before this but the one in ep 7 really got to me. When everyone was trying to save themselves and resulting in only one person surviving 😭😭😭
WS will burn painting its in ending credit... Check it out. I am bit scared... 😬
Me too! I am hoping that Wei Yan and Wei Shao won't break their brotherhood because of that but in the novel, Wei Yan did end up leaving to go back to his father so 😬
Ah two men finally gave into their feelings in ep 21...
We all cheered when WS finally gave in. I thought he was going to resist a little bit more after seeing the jade pendant from his brother but instead, he pulled that really smooth move with the pillow. The whole scene sequence to the point when he hugged her back....❤️❤️❤️ Of course, the icing on the cake was his jealousy scene...so well scripted and acted! 😂 😂 😂
Then we have Wei Yan...I feel for that guy even if I don't trust him fully yet. He seems like he is truly trying, to be a Wei, and I am beginning to think he is sincere to the family. BUT...he will be taken down by forbidden love instead. 😭 😭 😭 He should have burned that painting first
Was he really telling WS that he cannot fall for QiaoMan or was it reverse psychology to let WS know that it was…
You're right - WY indirectly helped WS realized what a good fit Manman was for him. I guess I don't trust WeiYan still so half of me thinks that he always has ulterior motives.
Her poor aunt doesn’t deserve that nasty uncle at all. Like—she raised ALL the kids, held the family together…
Wasn't it a misunderstanding? He was looking for beauties to present them to the other lords since it seems that the marriage alliance between Wei -Qiao was working. It was that silly advisor that made a remark about taking a concubine.

Zang Hai has more to revenge 😡

I am just still suspicious of him and the painting burning scene has not happen so I cannot help but think he has a hidden agenda!
