Can someone help me figure out Wei Yan's response to Wei Shao? Questions below.
Was he really telling WS that he cannot fall for QiaoMan or was it reverse psychology to let WS know that it was too late, he's already fallen in love?
And was any part of his response motivated by his own attraction to QiaoMan?
It’s heartwarming to see Wei Shao’s mind and heart gradually open to the possibility of loving QiaoMan.
From “Absolutely not—one marriage won’t erase 14 years of hatred and blood feud,” to quietly wondering, “Is it still okay to love her?" even after seeing the vision of his grandfather, father, and brother.
I can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode when he finally answers that question. A little jealousy might just give him the push he needs…
You know, I don't think our boy Wei Shao is that dense or clueless...we've seen moments of him noticing, staring at Manman and thinking of her. Like the generals, the advisor, heck even Yang Feng who just got there, we know he's in deep.
I think he is deliberately in denial, not daring to accept that he's fallen for a Qiao woman. He's losing the battle but still resisting quite a bit....until tomorrow's episodes :)
At least today, he did make Manman happy in the end with his little gift!
Ok - with all the Wei brothers shenanigans, I missed what happened to Wei Dian . Can you tell me?
So when Yuan Wang, the prefect of RongJun ended up supporting Wei Shao and Qiaoman, Wei Dian openly declared that he was going to attack them with his troops...so the tension was building up and we thought another battle was going to happen...
Then when Wei Dian went to put on his armor ...stabbed! From the back by Wei Qu who remarked "why bother with a tough fight? One slash is enough"
So many little funny moments in today's episodes -
Not counting the many scenes between our blockhead ML and frustrated Qiaoman.
- Wei Shao's reaction to finding out who the prefect's daughter wants to marry - Everything Wei Liang - Blocking Wei Duo's ears with dirt - How Wei Dian ended - Yang Feng saying that the stargazing platform was too small and the camera panned out etc....
Did we see another potential couple...for the flirty general?
Who else wants to shake some sense into Wei Shao - such a blockhead! Qiaoman straight out showed him or dropping heavy hints and he's still acting clueless....
All the side eyes his men are giving each other...they all know. Love how they respect their Lady Qiao!

Ep 15 At that moment, the Grandmother fainted conveniently to create a distraction and bought Wei Shao some time. So, while Wei Shao went to see his grandmother, she implied that she thought it was Wei Yan who had done something, because since he came back from his trip, he had changed.
Su EHuang was betting that since Wei Shao was soft on his family, would not continue to investigate since it might implicate Wei Yan, his cousin. That way, nothing would be traced back to her and her nephew. For security, she had Zheng Shu, that snake female cousin killed.
Meanwhile Wei Shao was still stuck not knowing what to do until he read QiaoMan's letter (she pretended to send one to her family knowingthat he would read it). She said, no matter what his decision was, she would understand.
So he went ahead, investigated and they proved QiaoMan's innocence but Wei Yan was implicated since he was responsible for the granary where the seeds were kept. However, Wei Shao said that something did not add up because they found someone who visited the granary without permissions a few times but that someone (Zheng Shu) was dead.
He also confronted Wei Yan, and they both now knew the truth about Wei Yan's origins. Well, Wei Yan only knew what was told to him by his father which was obviously one-sided.
SEH fearing that Wei Shao was getting closer to the truth, went to the stupid silly Lady Zhu and then again manipulated into confessing that she was the one who got Zheng Shu to mess with the seeds in order to get Qiao Man into trouble.
So since Lady Zhu confessed, it was no longer a matter of the state and instead was just a family matter. So Wei Shao was no longer in a quandary, Qiao Man and Wei Yan proven innocent but SEH got away with things for now.
SEH left for Bianzhou thinking that she was home free and clear but Wei Yan stopped her and told her never to return again. Then she taunted him by asking him if he thought he would ever truly be part of the Wei family.
Wei Shao and Qiao Man were talking about Wei Yan and they both agree that he should know the truth about his birth. QM offered to go talk to him since he refused to see anyone and after her conversation with him, Wei Yan rushed to see his Grandmother.
Looks like they start their travels tomorrow and get attacked by whichever faction. I hope it brings them closer…

Other sweet scenes include her suddenly calling him "Fujun" meaning Dear, instead of the usual "Nanjun" (my lord), and he clearly liked it! He was even pouting when he saw she addressed him by Nanjun in her letter.
Speaking of letters, they have started writing each other secret letters under the pretense of her writing to her family and he sending them back (pretending to consficate them) to her.
OK, now onto what went down. Episode 14
Su Ehuang came back, trying to appeal to "past affections" and expecting to be treated like a queen. However Wei Shao drew a clear line, and even placed her at a post house (inn, I guess) instead of having her stay at the mansion. She then invited him to the place they usually played together, trying to get him to soften towards her, She showed the jade token that was similar to the one he always wore. No effect. She then offered the grains she brought to ease his trouble with Rongjun's dwindling supply but he refused, saying that she was the Lady of Bianzhou, and politically it would not look good if he accepted. He did not want to harm the Qiao-Wei relationship by accepting Bianzhou's grain. She then tried to sow discord by reminding him about Qiao-Wei's blood feud...but no luck, Wei Shao showed full trust in Qiao Man.
So when SEH failed with WeiShao, she shifted to using his mother, Lady Zhu who was stupid as ever, to stir up trouble. She first got that female cousin, Zheng Shu back in the picture by having Lady Zhu find out that the cousin was being beaten by her in-laws. Not true of course - the snake cousin was scheming along with SEH (or more indirectly via her nephew). Zheng Shu instigated Lady Zhu to get Qiao Man into trouble by messing with the wheat seeds that were sent from Yanzhou, from the Qiao family. Zheng Shu was the one who did the deed.
Then, during the grandmother's birthday party, Lady Zhu made a big deal about the grain seed from Yanzhou, and during that whole act, made it look like the Qiao family had sent bad wheat seeds with the ill intention of having the Wei people suffer in the end. Of course, we have Wei Dian, the power-hungry uncle who took advantage and insisted on fanning the flames.
This is when Wei Shao strode in like a hero, claiming that he might believe it if Wei Dian told him that QiaoMan tried to poison the Wei Family but she would never ever harm the people. He then recounted everything that she's done for the people. So Wei Shao said that he would investigate by weighing the grain seeds. If the weight was lighter than when it was brought it, then the seeds were tampered with in the granary itself.
At this point, SEH, seeing that her plot to take down QiaoMan was falling apart, quickly said that if the seeds were tampered with after their arrival, then who was in charge of the granary, since that was likely to be the culprit. Turned out it was Wei Yan. So the episode ended with Wei Shao being torn between protecting Qiao Man or Wei Yan.

Yeah, and what's nice is that even though they are in enemy territory, her people follow Qiao Man's lead by acting with dignity and respect. They did not leave any weakness that can be exploited by anyone.
I think she's also lucky because her weapon of choice was gullible and even more quite stupid. She won't have…
Yeah, I think Lady Xu was already guarded against her, and Wei Shao already drew the line clearly. She even got a clear warning not to come back...BUT, she will be back!
