I was reading and googling some facts on the WuYue history. You can also read the discussion thread by PeachBlossom.…
I was also trying to read up about the individual characters and Qian Chu came across as being passive, seeking peace for his people rather than trying to gain power. In the end, he gave up Wu Yue to the Song kingdom to keep his people safe. So I guess it is pretty realistic that in this show, he is shown to be kind and somewhat soft.
I liked the dialogue between him and Lord Sang for example, about what was right or wrong.
Yes, Zhao Guang Yin is pretty savvy, for someone so young, he's holding his own against that Marshall Zhang. I did read up on that war and got some spoilers. So I wonder how the show would portray it.
I wonder if Qian Hong Chu has been portrayed realistically so far, or has the show softened and glorified his character because he’s a main lead played by Bai Yu?
I haven’t watched any of the new episodes yet but I’m certain he’s doing it for her I also think people…
I am not sure if he's doing it for her but there is definitely more to our ML below the surface! Yeah, Albert is cute and all but I am not getting the couple vibes between him and HGB...since we as the viewers know exactly what's going on, it's hard for me to imagine them together.
Ep 22 was pretty good. At least the Tang folks are being smart again and our dynamic 4 are back in the game. Just ignore the overacting and theatrics towards the end.
I am thinking that perhaps the ML in explaining the situation to the brother, also included the part about how the FL used the fingerprint to prove that the body was not You Chen An's but since the body was burned, the evidence was inconclusive. So in his muddled but actually pretty smart way, he thought he could help, especially when he still thought that You Chen An won't harm him.
I was thinking that he left before the ML found the herb under a different name so he had no idea that the FL recovered. Plus his flashback about the ML telling him not to touch the pigeons made me think that he was just being impulsive believing that You Chen An was still his good friend. Anyway, we will see...
It’s already hard enough to follow the politics in Wu Yue, but we also have to switch gears to what’s happening in Later Jin. Still, this drama is very interesting—I just can’t multitask while watching it 😅
You know, if I met someone like Cheng Zhao Yue, I would immediately be put off by his phony, slimy way of speaking. I know the Emperor is young but I thought he was sharper than that. Maybe he is smart and he ultimately just want to get rid of anyone who could fight him for the throne.
I am just starting ep 4 and getting really pissed off. Someone please spoil me, will he die soon?
Edit - I started reading about the history of these dynasties and so got some spoilers about these characters. I hope what happens to Cheng Zhao Yue will happen soon!
Yeah I wonder what Bro is up to. At first I thought he was being his silly self, being reckless and doing his own thing but with the cliffhanger, I wonder if he was working under the ML's instructions.
Yes, CC was cured in ep 20 thanks to a dream she had and her smart husband making the connection. Jingyi was still stuck at Fatso’s but his wife managed to visit him.
No he probably knew that it was pointless since ol’ fatso was right outside spying. You’re correct!!! CC was indeed poisoned by something rare and there was quite a few filler scenes around that!
Real death or fake one since we’ve had both this season lol.
That’s the thing! I was expecting to feel sad but that whole montage annoyed me…I was yelling at Chu Chu to get out of there and wondering why Leng Yue would have left her despite being told not to leave her for a minute. Then flashing so quickly to the two boys. Too much theatrics too little impact.
Ep 19 was better - some surprises and more emotional impact.

The perm and highlights - lol...our FL is collecting so many admirers!
"Partner"...the SML is adorable!
I think there's more to the ML's backstory. He's probably undercover as well now and in the past.
We know a show is ending when the body count starts going up...so far only two so maybe not as bad as other shows.
