is it based on novel? because some says it's original script
Oh that's true, there was a novel but the drama is very different.

OK, it's almost time for the Capital arc. Can someone who read the novel share if it is RSB's turn to chase after LJL? I need to see our baby LJL being treated well!

she just need to wait for her death
I think she finally realize that it is time to move on in ep 31. She's bitter but at least she's now accepted it.

No, she really locked him up just after taking his virginity, while at the same time STILL keeping him in the…
That's probably because she knew that the wedding will not happen. I agree, I don't like her not telling him everything at this point and I think the way she did things was really bitchy. All I am saying is that she wants him to stand up to her.

That just isn't true, she clearly was waiting for her servant to stop the wedding with the Yan family servant,…
I meant she keeps pushing his button to make sure that he will still stand up to her. Not specifically about the wedding.

I think RSB is testing LJL - you can tell she was loving his manly temper tantrum before the hot šŸ’‹scenes. She doesn't want a doormat for her husband.

He needs to play hard to get for at least 5 mins lol.
At least 1 episode, ok? šŸ˜‚ My poor LJL baby needs to have a long temper tantrum, and RSB needs tp pamper him A LOT!

Pausing episode 29 to vent for a second. I’m really not loving how the show has turned ā€œfemale empowermentā€ into RSB going full mean-girl mode. I’m all for a strong female lead, but at this point I just want LJL to ice her out and move on. I don't understand why she kept leaving him out of her plans. It's not as though he would ruin them!

We can hate a person's actions and hold them accountable and still like them
Yes, everyone is still responsible for their actions, but I also think it’s worth reflecting on why people turn out the way they do.

No one is denying that what he is doing is wrong and no one is claiming that he should be excused.
I am just saying that some of us may still feel sympathy for the character. You may not, but I do.

Just finished ep 27 and oh wow, RSB is still the ultimate mastermind. Hah, LJL, you better catch up! While I love the queen that she is, I wish they would work together against their enemies instead of her using him as part of her plan. I hope they start being a proper scheming couple soon!

Also love the new development for the second sister!

Yes, we do agree that he must be held responsible for his actions. At the same time, he isn’t the first ā€œvillainā€ whose circumstances have led some viewers to feel sympathy for his plight.

I think you may be misunderstanding my point. I’m not saying his actions should be excused—he absolutely should be held accountable. What I’m saying is that I can understand how he came to be that way.

Side note: It’s interesting you brought up sociopaths, since it’s long been understood that sociopathy is shaped by both nature and nurture. In that sense, parental influence can play a significant role in how someone develops those traits.

We can hate a person's actions and hold them accountable and still like them
In a lot of families, kids grow up following their parents’ influence almost automatically, without really questioning it. When those parents are morally compromised, that influence can run deep and linger for years. That’s why dramas so often feature morally flawed or outright toxic parents—it’s a trope people can relate to. It feels real because one can undertand how a parent’s values, for better or worse, can shape a child’s choices long after they start to think independently. Especially when the parent is a constant figure in their lives, and controlling them in different ways including materially.

Ah, so we have been chasing a red herring...Some viewers have moved on to the next suspect and I think they could be on to something.

You’re right—I’m not excusing his actions. Still, he might have turned out differently if not for his father. While he is an adult and ultimately responsible for his own choices, it’s hard to deny that upbringing and substantial parental influence can profoundly shape the decisions a person makes.

I am glad I am not the only one but I wish I was! I don't want the bestie to suffer, even if she does seem to have great chemistry with Gong Huai Cong.
