Haha, she changed sides in an instant. She’s playing neutral, and she’ll follow whoever offers her better.…
Yeah she’s definitely playing the game to see where she can benefit the most. Poor Bai scholar…it looks like she is going to sell him out again but I’m kind of hoping that the preview is misleading.
Ep 13 was good…was RSB honest because she knows he knows or she truly just wants to protect him? And how is LJL going to explain his way out of the trap he created for himself 😅
What a great way to start my Saturday morning! Seeing XiGuang quickly adjusting to be his GF. ZJM is playing her character so well… confident but not cocky, girlish but not childish, soft without being weak, smart without being showy, and charming in a way that feels completely effortless.
I love it when the ML bends down to the FL’s eye level and looks at her…LYS looks particularly “shuai" (帅) 😍
I don't see her coming across as dumb and rigid. She's shocked and afraid in certain situations, because of abrupt…
That’s a really thoughtful analysis, and I can see exactly where you’re coming from. Your analysis of the character makes a lot of sense. I think my baseline expectation—even for a rookie spy—is pretty simple: if you know you’re playing a role, even one you dislike, at least keep your head down and don’t actively sabotage yourself. Being openly defiant and repeatedly risking your cover just feels hard to justify.
That said, I do agree that fear and shock can absolutely make people act irrationally. That’s very human. I just wish the writing had handled that more consistently. Early on, when she was on the front lines, the FL came across as grounded, capable, and mature. If they had stayed closer to that version of her—even while showing cracks from fear and trauma—her later actions would have felt much more believable to me.
Happy 2026 to you too! May the new year be kinder and brighter to you and your family!

She definitely has redeeming qualities like her intelligence but some scenes seemed overdone like her indignation that they have to be in the same hotel room together or her unwillingness to play her part that she knowingly and willingly signed up for. You're right - to adapt quickly let alone totally is not easy but there really is such a thing as common sense. For someone who has experienced the horrors of war on the frontline, she is acting a little too naive and childish for me at this point. However, I am sure there will be character development so I too look forward to seeing the story progress :)
I am a little disappointed with the way the FL character was written. She is supposed to be inexperienced but she was coming across pretty dumb and rigid. I think it was for a bit of comic relief but I am more annoyed than amused.
