Xi Guang already behaving like a girlfriend - dragging YuSen everywhere and making him wait with all the luggage and bags. It looked cold outside the temple đ
I love the little comedic detailsâthe Wei engineers being completely oblivious to the whole âbag-carrying = boyfriend dutiesâ thing, people reacting to their phone cases, and XiGuang wishing for turbulence for probably the first time in her life, XiGuang eyeing the leftover food đ
Well I didn't feel bad for him.FL first proposed to him but he rejects.FL helped him unconditionally many times…
Well said. Zhuang Xu already had a lot weighing on him, enough to make anyone hesitate. Add a close childhood friendâsomeone who knows everyone around him and carries real influenceâstirring up doubt, and his behavior starts to make sense. That said, could he have been less harsh? Absolutely. I totally agree - He needs someone like Ye Rong but this is not what this story is about :D
i feel like he got what was coming... even though he was misled by Ye Rong, he never cared to clarify the misunderstandings…
So true - the way the romance is developing between XiGuang and YuSen is so nicely done, and very natural. They just seem so happy to be in each otherâs company. Iâm glad that even though XiGuang still has a little emotional baggage, there is really nothing messy that will hold her back from YuSen. Canât wait for the moment when sheâs finally fully free!

That's fairâand honestly, I get why you and many others donât feel bad for him. His track record is just not great.
Iâm mostly giving him the benefit of the doubt, not a free pass. From the start, he never came off as a strong communicatorâmore like the type who tries to patch things up through actions instead of words. Helping with her thesis, walking her back, quietly showing upâŠ
And maybe this is me projecting a little, but thinking back to my university days...A lot of guys were exactly like thatâhot and cold, emotionally clumsy, and especially awkward (borderline jerks) around the girls they liked. Mature communication was not their strong suit.
That said, youâre absolutely right: none of that excuses humiliating her or staying silent when clarity was needed. And expecting her to just hang around indefinitely? Nope...he must be crazy to think that.
Basically, I understand why he messed up but yes, he still messed up. And compared to our glorious ML, he never really stood a chance anyway đ

Oh, Zhuang Xu absolutely earned the misery heâs stewing inâbut I still canât help feeling a little sorry for him. Being misled by Ye Rong made me pity him. That said, all of this couldâve been avoided if heâd just, like you said, talked to XiGuang. He tried to show his remorse through his actions, which unfortunately for him, most of us viewers prefer an actual apology. Ultimately, it was him choosing to trust his childhood friend, made the wrong call, and here we are.
Timing didnât do him any favors either. XiGuang met Yu Sen at a point when he was already more emotionally matureâsomeone who actually knows how to communicate. That skill probably comes from life experience⊠though letâs be honest, itâs also very likely because heâs our textbook green-flag ML đ.
Zhuang Xu is also older and wiser, but too bad, he has already missed the boat.
I feel badly for Zhuang Xu, after his conversation with Ye Rong. His realization about how badly he messed up in the past and how he missed what could have been a beautiful love. I hope that he will find good things on the path he has now chosen.
Well said. It's a romantic drama after all. Without moments like this there won't be steps to lead to romance.…
You said it even better! I watch romantic shows for the heart fluttering scenes and with a ML like LYS, I donât think I will be disappointedđ Yeah - no love crazed SFL or SML yet but letâs see. I just finished another show where a very likable SML ended up killing and hurting people just to keep the leads apart đ
Just started and already up to episode 10. Watching that tall drink of gorgeousness stride up the stairs was satisfying. Sure, YiGuang probably couldâve handled the situation but I still thoroughly enjoyed watching him swoop in and save the moment.
This was an enjoyable watch - funny especially with Yan Zi Xianâs characterâŠhe still looked so hot despite all the goofiness. And I love the lead couple - the visuals - all that gorgeousness just added to their chemistry. True, the romance is a little thin and I wish they spent more time showing how the leads fell in love but given that this was a shorter length series, it didnât take away the appeal of the couple for me. I really want to see both in a full length drama. Hankiz and Huang Jun Jie have the looks and talent to go far.
The first half was a solid watch. Seeing the leads slowly find their way back to each other kept me engaged. Unfortunately, halfway through, the drama started melting into a puddle of boredom. This likely wouldnât have happened if the show hadnât been stretched to 36 episodes. At 24 episodes, it would have been much tighter and, honestly, much better received. The story isnât that complex, and it becomes painfully obvious that the later episodes are padded with filler.
That really dragged down my enjoyment, especially when it came to the villain. He was portrayed very well by the actor (name not given to avoid spoiler) and started out as a genuinely interesting character, but by episode 30, I was beyond tired of him and just wanted to wipe that smug smirk off his face.
Johnny Huang and Sun Qian were fine as the leads. Johnny delivered his usual stoic, manly presence, but given the emotional weight of some scenes, I expected more range from him. Sun Qian did better than I anticipated, but she also fell short in the heavier emotional moments. And I have to sayâit didnât help that her hairstylist completely failed her. She looked unkempt most of the time, to the point where I wondered if they were trying to showcase her thick hair in hopes of landing a hair product endorsement.
Other than that, I like Eric Chou, so the soundtrack was great. Johnnyâs ending credit song was pleasant as well.
Overall, if youâre a fan of Johnny, this is watchableâespecially if you get through the middle stretch at 2Ă speed.
so many moments of stupidity though...they clearly know they are dealing with a supposed super smart and meticulous…
Youâre right⊠there were those moments of stupidity or lapses in bad judgment (or writing) that dragged the show down. But the show was entertaining enough. If they made the police as stupid as they do in other shows, I would not have finished it.
Great and fun watch! I like all the characters including Johnnyâs who displayed great sportsmanship and looking good while doing it. Music, dialogue, cinematography all well done!
