Have you watched the previous dramas of Dilraba and Allen? If not, you should watch You are my glory and The Long…
That's a great explanation! I tried watching The Sword and The Brocade because I am a fan of Wallace Chung but I haven't finished because of Seven Tan. She just did not interest me as the FL.
I think the show created the fox clan for a couple of reasons:1) In the novel, it took many years for Chang Yi…
It's her hair ornaments that bother me the most. Why on earth would they make her wear these anchor like hanging things??? Plus they are so big. Also, the colors - the grey outfits and then the pink high-neck one - so not flattering on her!

Didn't she play Zhi He, that water spirit who is also the demon princess?? I thought it was another actress who played the foster sister, Ji Heng.
I think I should rewatch ELOD since we have to wait 4 - 5 days for TBW :D
I am rewatching The Long Ballad right now just because...but maybe I will switch to ELOD. I did like the chemistry between Vengo and Dilraba in that show.

Yeah...no competition at all. True, CY is a jiaoren who mate for life but I was worried that he would be forced to stay with her, even if there are no romantic entanglements...like in ELOD, where Dijun was forced to go to the underworld to treat Zhi He (that love rival :D), causing him to be apart from Dilraba who had a huge misunderstanding about it.
Even in this show, the Blue Whisper, Yun He had a short misunderstanding about the fox princess and Chang Yi, after Shunde or her man told Yun He that Chang Yi now has the distraction of the lovely fox princess. This was when she was still imprisoned by Shunde.

Oh I didn't even know about Immortal Samsara. I am not a big fan of Yang Zi...something about her and also Seven Tan that I cannot explain. They are both good actresses but don't have the effect on me as Dilraba does.

Totally agree! Plus they also nailed it with their facial expressions. Actors who have the talent plus the looks - haha! They are such a treat to watch!

OMG - She made my blood boil in Ashes of Love and also the Eternal Love of Dream where again she caused so much trouble to Dilraba's character. Actually that's where I got my worry about her forcing Chang Yi to be with her. Because in ELOD, she made the Dijun (the ML) stay with her, leaving Dilraba 😭 😭 😭

I was not as active on the TLB page since I joined it later, and by then there were 1000s of comments :D I was taking my time reading them so that I can catch up. I stayed on only for a little bit after I finished watching the show.
For The Blue Whisper, I will stay on much longer, maybe until they show the Legend of Anle...Do you know when that would air?

Yeah, I think the show created the love rival as a typical drama cliche to cause unnecessary stress to the audience. I was so worried at one point that Qing Yao (fox princess) is going to make Chang Yi stay with her because she saved his life by begging her father the fox king to do that. Luckily, the show did not go that direction and Chang Yi is 100% committed to Yun He. Also, I love a Male Lead who is so openly devoted, and don't even pretend to have interest in anyone else.

I \am rewatching "The Long Ballad" and now whenever they play the eveil ominous music during Hao Du's (Liu Yi Ning) scenes, it makes me laugh because we know what a softie he turned out to be...:D
I think a lot of time was wasted creating an unnecessary fox clan that is not in the book. The story of the novel…
I think the show created the fox clan for a couple of reasons: 1) In the novel, it took many years for Chang Yi and Kong Mi to gather followers and eventually Chang Yi became the lord of the North. The introduction of the fox clan makes it easier for that subplot to progress faster because there is already an organized structured group for Chang Yi to take over eventually. I think it is an easier story to show visually.
2) Cool fight scenes - having the fox clan and the early introduction of Zhu Ling (the leader of the fox clan's enemy and Shunde's man), the show included a a couple of fight scenes which indirectly showed us how Chang Yi has regained a lot of power and became more resourceful, on his way to becoming the Lord of the North,
I do agree that there is no need for the scenes to bring the Fox King back to life, or any scenes with the annoying cousin brother of the fox princess. Also Qing Yao as the love rival is just plain irritating. I am waiting to see how the show would use her as a plot device towards the end of the show.
Yunhe is dying. She would rather Chang Yi misunderstand her and move on rather than to spend his life missing…
Yes, that's the main reason why Kong Ming and Yun He do not want Chang Yi to know the truth. For Yun He, there is no point because she is dying anyway so it is better that Chang Yi focuses on leading the people of Bei Yuan instead of being distracted by her. Kong Ming also wants Chang Yi to focus on the cause. In the novel, it is good that it is Shunde who reveals the whole truth to Chang Yi. If it was anyone else except for Yun He, Chang Yi would be so angry with them!
I’m loving Chang Yi’s latest outfit - the silver and slate blue tones pair so well with the embroidery. Also the belt and overall pattern, along with his cuff earrings…😍😍😍
Watching Changyi and JHY “fight” in the number of times she tried killing herself is just captivating.
In the novel, the scene where YH snatched CY’s hairpin is more bloody because she accidentally stabbed the pin into his hand when he used his hand to block her throat 😬

The other sequences that I like are from the Cuju game. The moves there were so awesome and Dilraba was AMAZING!
