I think usually the director has final say about how the scenes should unfold. So if he did not agree with the screenwriter, then he has the right to change...unless of course, the screenwriter has some serious backing or heavy pull...

Same here about LHQ! If they really kill him off, that is such a drama cliche to kill off the SML so that the OTP can move on without any entanglements...makes me mad!!!

The novel ending, and the scenes leading to it are perfect. Don't know why the director and screenwriter wanted to change it 😤😤😤 I was looking forward to seeing the director's work in this and he did well in part 1. Then part 2 came along. I still enjoy it but like all of you, am dreading a rush ending.

Is that for sure in the drama? I hated that part in the novel, knowing that Shunde took Phoenix's powers 😰 Also, I don't want the Emperor - Tianjun to die 😰

That's so true. In a way, he is the unsung hero of the show. From young LHQ sacrificed by hiding his true self by pretending to be cruel and harsh so that his father won't continue to use and force YH against him.
Then he endured being humiliated by Shunde as he continued to search for the frost poison cure, while always thinking about how to save YH. He definitely is strategic and thinking ahead, like how he disguised SiYu's death...

I also like this character very much! Of course the eye candy factor helps :D

True. The father did not want LHQ to have any weakness that his enemy can take advantage of. That’s why he forced LHQ to kill his pet, and then making it impossible for LHQ and YH to have a good relationship

I meant that his dad ended up being singularly focused on Wanhua Valley, and was not with anyone else. Nothing was said about LHQ’s mother at all.

That said, LHQ’s dad was not really evil. Yes he’s caused the death of many spiritual masters but he did it for the greater good, trying to find a cure for the frost poison. He was cruel to LHQ using YH as a tool because he wants LHQ to toughen up and fight against the ultimate enemy, the Grand Tutor or Tianshi

I hope so too! The actor Xiao Shun Yao have done mostly supporting roles but hopefully this role will be his breakthrough role. Like you said, they pair so well in looks and chemistry

I was trying to decide if it was a bridal outfit or because it represents her red tailed fox spirit. There was no scene explicitly referring to a wedding or marriage but it is clear that they have told each other that they would be each other’s one and only so maybe that’s the symbolism.
