Is Legend of the White Snake worth watching? I suspect I am going to have some withdrawal symptoms after TBW...

Yeah, I started watching both his shows after L&R - one modern one called "Love At Night" and another historical one called "Qing Luo" but both put on hold for now. The stories are ok but a bit slow for me so I am taking my time finishing them

Ah, I found out from the comments that the second guy, the uber popular one is Mao Zijun. He was one of the MLs in Killer and Healer. I have never watched any of his shows though

Yeah - it is too bad that he is getting so much hate. His expressions are spot on around Luo Luo. Superficial me would still like to see more eye candy but he's doing a great job

Hahaha - Liu Xue Yi looks good bald with his sharp features. I am still trying to figure out who is the second uber popular one. The caption is hilarious though - translated loosely, the person who posted said "Directors, can you please match a beautiful girl with a handsome guy in the future, I really can’t see a beautiful girl being wronged!"

Ah, love the recap in Season 2 episode 1 - got to see angry Merman Chang Yi and his beautiful tail again. At the same time, feeling the heartbreak between Yun He and Chang Yi all over again 😭

So far, episodes 1 and 2 started off well with Chang Yi getting more screen time, and his actions towards Yun He contradict his words (my heart melting during their scenes together with the beautiful background music). I love that Yun He is still as sassy as ever despite her weakened state.

I hope that they don't completely make him go on the villain's side. In the novel, he was pretending at least...

Yeah I guess Kong Ming is considered a minor role but he does have quite a bit of screen time, being Chang Yi's second in command and Yun He's doctor especially in Season 2. Ah, it would have been nice if Liu Xue Yi did play Kong Ming, plus a 4 year difference would have also made sense :-)

I think it is his facial hair and beard. I bet if he was clean shaven, he would look like around her age!

It's not clear - given his experience and skills, I have the impression that he is definitely older so the drama seems to be following the novel. He is supposed to be the older brother of Ji Cheng Yu. Still I think Liu Xue Yi could have been a great choice!

In the novel, Kong Ming sounds like the stereotypical monk with a shaven head. Luo luo's nickname for him is Baldy :D

I prefer the drama version - it's more comical and adorable!

In the novel, Luo Jinsang is not even a butterfly spirit. She is another spiritual master who got swallowed whole by a demon, but later escaped alive. However, as a result, she was invisible, almost like a ghost. With Yun He's and San Yue's help, she learned to control her invisibility and because she could escape unnoticed, she traveled the world and met Kong Ming during her travels. Kong Ming and she has a love-hate relationship but it is clear in the novel that they do care for each other.

I grew up watching Chinese/Taiwanese dramas so I understand quite a bit. I’m going to be on both pages - this page and Season 2. Thanks to you guys who share so many links and details - I appreciate the show even more!
