That's so true. In a way, he is the unsung hero of the show. From young LHQ sacrificed by hiding his true self by pretending to be cruel and harsh so that his father won't continue to use and force YH against him. Then he endured being humiliated by Shunde as he continued to search for the frost poison cure, while always thinking about how to save YH. He definitely is strategic and thinking ahead, like how he disguised SiYu's death...

I was trying to decide if it was a bridal outfit or because it represents her red tailed fox spirit. There was no scene explicitly referring to a wedding or marriage but it is clear that they have told each other that they would be each other’s one and only so maybe that’s the symbolism.

I am so close to suffering the second lead syndrome yet. LHQ like you said is ultimately the one who understands YH the best. His love for her is to give her what she wants and Chang Yi only realizes about unconditional love that after it is too late (in this arc)
Even though I feel for LHQ,, I like that the show is closing all the loops rather nicely, leading the path to a good ending for the CP.

That was when YH was dying and in her mind she told him why she was afraid to tell him the truth. However that was only in her imagination and he never got to hear it from her in reality.
