Thank you for the wonderful review. Just joined MDL recently and only chanced upon this article like a year late lol
Started watching Princess Silver recently (I'm on a mission to catch up on dramas that had been on my PTW list for too long now) and reaching the midway point.
To me, this is one of the better period/ wuxia dramas that I have watched in recent memory and I agree with the points you made.
I guess people view things differently but I do believe this show deserves more love than hate.
Just found out about this from the feeds. Synopsis sounds really intriguing, trailer looks refreshingly different - based on a manhwa, right? No wonder there's some anime inserted.
The trailer looks really good (and quite long, at 5 mins lol). The FL is the one in Unicorn Girl currently, no wonder she looks familiar. No indication of number of episodes, and debut seems to be 29/8.
This drama is surprisingly quite good, better than I expected. It's not easy to watch though, and I've reached the midway point.
As mush as I'm pissed at the scriptwriters / novel author, good job to them for delivering much drama to the plot. So much suffering to endure... (both the characters and the viewers)
And.... It's a wrap! Just finished the drama, right after In A Class of Her Own. Really enjoyed the character growth and overall storyline. About the ending... I'm just going to be optimistic on this one :)
omg, another cross-dressing trope. There seems to be many this year. I'm getting In A Class of Her Own vibes here lol At least it's a modern setting for a change.
What a pleasant surprise. I watched this drama earlier this year and it has become one of my favourites for the year (past few years, in fact).
It's rare to find such a short wuxia series that's so well produced and conveys the plot so comprehensively. Tbh, at times the way this show was presented and paced, it almost feels like it's paying tribute to older wuxia productions (think Shaw Brothers). There's minimal fillers, no time wasting on insignificant side-plots that digress from the main arc of the story. The mystery cases are well crafted and the characters generally likeable and engaging.
It's not perfect, but at 24 episodes, can't complain too much.

Darn, I was just thinking of starting the binge... :(
But hey, it's J-dorama :D
Quickly order grab food :)
And you had to re-write it after accidentally deleting it!
Now I feel like rewatching this drama :)
Really enjoyed it and a big thank you for the recs :)
I love cats so I'll be sure to check them out

Now waiting for the reunion in Ruyi Pavilion!
