I totally agree! She should have trusted him. I love dramas where it turns out that the characters really trusted…
Agree, it's all about communication.
My BP nearly exploded while watching Princess Silver :P

Yup, that's why I usually avoid dramas set in that era. But since the focus is purely on adventure and solving cases, then should be all right. I actually love certain elements like the cultural influences and the fashion, just not the war aspects. Appreciate the rec though :)

That guy sharing the prison cell, no wonder he looks so familiar. He's the dude who plays the Taoist priest in Under The Power lol

Quite a few familiar faces!

No angst? Wonderful! I'm enjoying the Eight so if it's similar I'll add that to my list. Can't deal with too much angst atm, I'm already bracing myself in Love and Redemption lol

Ah, Detective L! I read good reviews about it but was initially hesitant because of Republican era. Since it's similar setting to The Eight which is pretty good, I'll give that a try. For Hairpin, I was quite taken by the impressive trailer and intriguing synopsis, but you're right, it all depends on the cast so hopefully Kris Wu and Yang Zi will deliver. That's another year's wait *sigh*

I watched a bit of My Roommate is a Detective, it looks like a lighthearted comedy so should be quite entertaining.
I'm actually excited for similar upcoming shows like Detective, Jiu Liu Overlord, Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion, Golden Hairpin and Wind From Luoyang. I hope they don't get shelved by the censorship board though ;/

this drama set the dynamic to a heart-wrenching romance from the 1st episode itself. so for those for are here…
Yes, Young Blood was pretty good for me.
Other investigative plots to consider for 2020 would be The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty (it's on-hold for me atm, but seems interesting with some bromance I think) and Miss Truth (cases are good and has a love triangle). And of course Ancient Detective (still a bit sore that it wasn't longer lol).
