I prefer NYZ too but are we really signing up for heart break
The actor portraying the SML, Wang You Shuo is quite versatile. I've seen him in Young Blood and Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion, each time part of a secondary couple. This is the first time I'm getting SLS vibe from him lol.
Remarkable actress and a fantastic singer, I absolutely adore IU. Thank you for this lovely article that celebrates all things wonderful about this amazing talent. Well done!
I prefer NYZ too but are we really signing up for heart break
Yes, I don't really like NYZ's family especially that sister of his. In fact, come to think of it, most of the female characters are annoying except for our FL.
I also agree that the childhood connection has become an obsession, as it is with the other guy who married her in the first episode. Which is why the chemistry with NYZ feels more organic to me. Looks like we're afflicted with SLS on this one lol
Since they're taking bets in the drama, we should place our wager on the potential suitors π I'm shipping our FL with NYZ - 5,000 taels on this ship! (I'm sensing SLS on this one, I know lol)
What a pilot episode! Loved every aspect of it. The production quality and characterisation are simply outstanding, just as they were in O&O. Fantastic start πππ
Will episode 1 release on iQiyi today if I'm not a VIP user? TvT
On iQiyi, 2 episodes are released per day (Mon - Wed) while VIP members get early access to additional episodes on the premiere day (4 eps, I think). That means non-VIP viewers should get 2 episodes free today.
It's also available on WeTV but the schedule has not been released (it should be the same although iQiyi may offer express unlock mode for its VIP members) while access may depend on geo-restrictions.
I absolutely agree, without music (BGM and OSTs) the storytelling would be severely hampered. The post-production process (overdub and sound mixing) is equally as important as the appropriate music selection and placement. It would be extremely awkward and even harmful if the music overpowers the dialogue and the mood of the scenes, in addition to being the wrong kind of music.
I particularly love OSTs by Zhou Shen, Zhang Bichen and Liu Yuning for C-historicals. For sageuk, a fusion of traditional elements (gugak, pansori) with contemporary influences like the soundtrack for Six Flying Dragons. The jazz-inspired BGM for Beyond Evil is exceptional, for me. I truly adore HuckleBerryfinn's Tempest for The Devil Judge. There are many many others π
Anyway, thanks for the article and keep up the good work!
Love the insights into the story. I didn't realise this was a parody of Dream of the Red Chamber! I love Bai Lu but I wasn't in the headspace for period slapstick comedy so decided to skip this one. I did watch some of the BTS and it looked like great fun π
