I'm not sure if anyone would agree but it's been quite some time since I've watched a C-historical as continuously suspenseful both emotionally and psychologically as this drama. Ever since the court intrigue evolved into a full scale offensive on either side of the conflict, including the "unseen parties", there's just been no pause for a breather. This is absolutely superb storytelling, isn't it? Personally I do think so 😀

Yes, I agree that there's so much room for improvement in the writing of the characters. It wasn't too challenging indeed to see through some of the villains. Fortunately the ending wasn't compromised, otherwise it would have left us fuming.

His attention to detail is just amazing, such a consummate professional. No wonder Ru'er looked surprised even as she lay in bed 😌

I can't recall how many heart attacks I had in the last 2 episodes 😢
