Our primary source of infection at the moment is that particular variant.

At the moment I'm making do with simple homemade meals or, whenever I'm inspired, I'll experiment in the kitchen lol. But I do order delivery of pizzas and such sometimes. The infection rate increases exponentially each day so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the outbreak to improve soon.

Thank you so much, I'm glad we share similar views. It's perplexing indeed how imbalanced the characters are, especially Ga On and Soo Hyun. Maybe it's a case of too many lead characters that the writer failed to allocate fairly the emphasis and connection to the overall scheme of things. I haven't watched Miss Hammurabi so I'm unsure if this is really the case or just a once off. Hopefully his third screenplay will be much more consistent, for our sake!

We're currently in a sort of conditional lockdown or rather conditional movement, as the government calls it (sounds like The Devil Judge's totalitarian dystopia lol). That means dine in isn't allowed, and ordering delivery of fancy food isn't ideal because then it would no longer be yummy 😢

Ah ok, I thought you disliked SJK in SKK Scandal, which I haven't watched. The only drama I've seen him in entirety in DoTS, which isn't exactly a serious thought provoking type of production lol. From what I've seen of Vincenzo, it falls into the same category as well, so I'm still not sure what to make of him 🤔

ALP... is a bit of a hot mess that revolved around petty rivalries and lovesick deities. It was a recurring pattern throughout which feels like a soap opera. I was quite disappointed because the technical aspects are fine but the plot is rather weak, unfortunately.

I heard about the multiple seasons but I didn't realise s2 had only commenced filming. I'll take your advice on it and hold first.

The fantasy sageuk dramas sounds really interesting. I'll need to add more into my list lol

I dropped quite a few this year, and as far as xianxia is concerned, the other one that I dropped is Ancient Love Poetry.

Epic fantasy sageuk is indeed rare. I'd like to see more than just gumiho lol
Urban fantasy dramas are aplenty but the recent one that I watched, The Witch’s Diner, is interesting enough and revolves around a unique concept. I haven't watched Arthdal yet, so that's on my ptw. In fact, I haven't seen most of the ones you mentioned. Now I'm intrigued 🤔

To be honest, I'm also quite picky with xianxia. There are in fact a few alternative subsets, though most mainstream ones are focused on similar conventions eg romance. I'd much prefer the cultivation (Dao) aspects of xianxia, and those involving camaraderie and adventure,as opposed to sacrificial love and self-induced suffering across the lifetimes lol

I'm much more lenient towards wuxia, which I actually enjoy more than xianxia, in general. I think there's an abundance of content to be discovered.

K-fantasy would indeed be intriguing. You're quite right regarding the atmospherics. There's much potential there without being hampered by convention, which you rightly pointed out. Perhaps we should attempt scouring the MDL database for such genres one of these days 😀
