Yan Zhi is very very lucky. As clever as she is, she's still no match for the wily old fox QSL. But the smartest of them all is the mysterious "3rd party".
has anyone seen Cheng Yi kiss scene in this drama???? sooo HOT!!!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r27gsnrJuLA
Hahaha, that's why that drama has some of the best / steamiest kiss scenes. It's a pity this scene was cut out from the story but at least we could enjoy it as a separate FMV 😊

Omg, Helan Mingyue! I still have nightmares about that lol I hope not as well, this show doesn't need that kind of angst 😢 I prefer the political scheming and espionage aspects instead.

I haven't watched Secret of the Three Kingdoms yet but I have heard about the plot. You're absolutely right about the history. I'm hoping that we'll get a different outcome, since the story is now fictionalised. To be honest, I'd prefer these sorts of dramas not to follow history because it takes the fun away from guessing the outcome. Otherwise it'll end up like a history channel docu-drama lol

That's a great observation! It's wonderful to see his acting bringing out the best in the character portrayal. It's such a delight to see his performance. I only hope that he looks after himself, as well as his agency. There are far too many scandals in the entertainment world these days so he has to be very careful of the C-Netizens 🙏

That was really heartbreaking. He saved all of them, followed the advice of his mentor, tried to do the right thing and everyone misunderstands him, calling him a traitor 😔 Few can portray that kind of complex role as well as Cheng Yi, there's going to be more dramatic moments!

Yes! You're absolutely right! Everyone (except Qi Yan) is afraid of being labelled in history as a traitor who usurped the throne. They want it delivered on a silver platter complete with the legitimacy so your theory is spot on. Qi Yan was compelled by his mentor to "do the only right thing" at that point, because there was no other option. So it's also very possible that he is the hidden mastermind behind the plotting. This is really good stuff, can't wait to see the conspiracy unfold 😀
Very detailed write up this time, and another job well done! I love the way you shared your exposition without giving anything away 😊
I actually watched the first episode then put it on hold but after reading your very convincing thoughts on it, I might give it another try. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Oho but I do appreciate the works by Victoria.
In any case, thanks for your efforts in producing this fantastic piece of writing!

I still don't trust Prince Guang and even more so after today. There's a sense of foreboding about him. Han Dong is a fantastic actor, I really don't think he was hired just to drink tea and do gardening throughout this show lol
Just finished ep 16. Omg... I can see flashes of L&R and TPoC. Cheng Yi reminds me again how good he is but ZYX deserves applause as well. She does the emotional scenes very well. Really love this episode.
And the scheming is heating up now. I think everybody did a great job. The "mermaid guy" (or is it merman?) too. Fantastic role reversal 👍

Glad to hear your appreciation for the story, it does sound compelling indeed!
I can't wait to see more plotting and thrills in the coming episodes!

Satisfying indeed 😊

Ok, off to continue with ep 17 now...
