This is part of the deleted footage (full version is approx. 2 minutes long) from episode 1 (somewhere in the 37th minute) that was cut from the iQiyi version.

Thank you for explaining! I'm still new to this things so a lot of confusion in my mind about the characters title…
It's a term of endearment used by parents or between couples, when added as a suffix to the given name (not the surname).
The character itself means 'son" but in this context, it means "child".
It's like the ancient way of saying "baby" or "babe".

There's more to him than he lets on... enter Mr. Black Belly...
Haha, you're absolutely spot on! Brilliant! xD

TW initially gave me Ned Stark vibes... until the slightly cringe worthy "milk tea" thingy... it's a toss up between Jamie and Oberyn currently lol

Lol. I might have exaggerated a little but you will find certain similar characters from GoT here. When it comes to fighting for the throne, these shared characteristics would somehow appear xD

He's definitely more Tyrion Lannister than Jon Snow. Hmmm.....

Hehe, very true indeed :D

It is also very similar to the ancient legend of King Arthur, Queen Quinevere and Lancelot.
This comment made me think of First Knight, with Richard Gere, Julia Ormond and Sean Connery.
May he RIP, Sean...

I was initially not going to watch this because the storyline of two lovers separated because of political reasons…
Yes, good point. I've always viewed the Song Dynasty and its famous Yang family as the good guys while the Liao Dynasty were the transgressors (which they really were, in fact). Seeing their perspective this time around would be really interesting.

Title The Legend of Xiao Chuo Spoiler
With both her sisters married to two different factions of the royal family, her father's loyalties appears divided.…
There seem to be conflicting accounts of what actually happened. Some users commented on this ML being fictional while others mentioned that he really existed. One user even did some research and posted earlier on in this discussion board that the ML really existed and had some form of relationship with the Empress.
I read on wikipedia which also very briefly confirmed this point.
But this drama is apparently adapted from a novel, so whether the novel is based on historical accuracy or romanticized account, we'll need the readers to verify. Again this depends on the screenwriters how they want to adapt the story.
Personally, I don't think they will stray too far from historical facts and simply create a tragedy when there is none (aside from the fact the ML and FL were initially separated).

Wow, you're really politically astute :D
The prime minister father did mention earlier on to XC that being from the Empress' side of the family, it is their duty to marry into the 3 factions. Anyway, if this drama follows history, we'll still get a happy ending for her.
As for Taiping, maybe that's why he's named as such - a man at peace with no wild ambitions.

To spice things up a little. Gives us sth new to vent our anger at beside FL being immature ^^*
Lol. That's true :D
I wasted 5 minutes of precious drama time trying out all the different subs display options, and none of them could "unbold".... :/

Hope this not like promise of chang an and both the fl and ml can have happy end :(
That's true. I guess the good thing is the FL here is a lot stronger and more upbeat. The Emperor seems like a nice guy compared to the other one in TPoC. Maybe it'll get a happy ending :)
