Totally agree with you. And my hypertension level confirms this! How the characters are written really makes a huge difference and although I love Cheng Yi's acting, Shawn Dou's character doesn't give me as much grief, so far. Same goes for the character of the FL, Tang Yan is doing a great job here too :)
