please inform us about wabisabi's last production. 🍵 some of us dont use social media. what is going on?
Yes, they ended the talent management division but kept the production side open. But the production half that is the remaining part of Wabi Sabi, is now a contracted subsidiary of GMMTV.
So basically this is a GMMTV production in all but name. GMMTV directors, GMMTV production crew, GMMTV feel to the drama.
The way that nothing happened in this episode other than setting up a stereotypical love triangle, it just shows…
I just can't with Mild. Knowing Hill wants Easter, WTF leads her to think that he'll suddenly change his mind if she only can find the courage to fess up? What a lame delusion.
And that kiss! It was like two porcelain fish figurines accidentally touching lips! Ugh!
Pls guys when they stated showing maxky and bas pls dial my number Have heard enough of pond and earth 😎
According to Bas (from an interview he and Cooheart sat for last week), the actor playing North said that Johan/North meet in episode 5 and things get rolling for them in episode 6.
The plot is a mess and is going nowhere. The characters actions don't make sense in relation to the flashbacks…
I'm not just confused. I'm annoyed it's taking this long to unfold. All of this plot could have fit in 2 episodes, max.
And Easter's facial gymnastics are a bad ride to nowhere good. In combination with Easter's general case of stupid-itis, it reeks of infantilism.
But at the same time, Easter's lack of communication is the exact mechanism of the awful pacing. The script writer(s) and director needed to work together to create a plot where the pace wasn't dependent upon one of the characters being a whiney child.
So does Easter have a past with Hill or not? At this point I can't be sure what the hell is going on. I... don't feel like the whole trickle-truth method of revealing things is giving us a plot that makes sense. Did they date in the past or not!
And stop wasting time with awful pacing! Can New Siwaj just stop working in bl's? He can NOT tell a coherent, interesting story at this point.
Mild is pathetic to an annoying point. Seriously, she's somehow both aware that Hill wants Easter but also composed of the delusion that he'll like her instead, if she runs Easter off and fesses up herself. WHATEVER!
4th week in a row, the only likable character in the show is poor, long-suffering North! We didn't get much of him this ep but he was right there trying hard to make Easter find his brain. (A lost cause but at least North looked cute on a scooter. At this point the bike is smarter than Easter!)
I feel like Sammy must have died inside, after reading the script. She legit plays a clown. Make-up and wig not necessary, she's a bizarre charicature without it.
And the f#cking kiss at the end!!! Is it against New Siwaj's playbook to allow actors to touch when they kiss?! F#ck me, Easter and Hill looked like fish figurines bumping lips! Gah!
I didn't need a deep plot. Sometimes light dramas are great! I didn't need sexy or even fast paced. But even light dramas need cohesive plot, *decent* pacing and somewhat likeable characterizations. Every time one of these poorly plotted, poorly acted, poorly paced dramas comes along, the defence is ALWAYS "It's a lighthearted, fun drama. It isn't meant to be deep or have great narrative! Stop taking everything so seriously!"
Wrong.
Lighthearted rom-coms benefit from quality genre writing, skilled direction, compatible chemistry, and efficient pacing, the same as any story. A BL having a lighthearted genre does not automatically equate to it sucking. Humor as a central theme does not equate to poor directing or boring plot. The drama's tone is no excuse for its utterly lackluster scripting.
Dramas can be light, funny, AND good. This one isn't.
I had an argument with myself about writing this post. No hate at all to the actors, they are following the directors…
We still don't know what actually happened with Easter and Hill and I am hella tired of the flashbacks leaking details at a snail's pace.
But yes! Mild is pathetic. She's aware Hill wants Easter, not her. But she acts like that will suddenly change if only she can grow a pair and confess. The problem is, Hill is not shy if he's interested in someone. She ought to know that. The fact that he's made no moves on her says it all.
According to the actors and company, this season only covers 2 of the 4 couples and a Season 2 is planned for…
I agree there are more sensible ways to do this.
But Bas, the actor playing North, said he meets Johan episode 5 and things get rolling strong in episode 6.
Based on the unusual pacing, I don't think they're going to quite tell this one story then the next. I suspect the first season may end up a more organic blend of the stories of North/Johan with Easter/Hill. Easter and Hill started moving toward "together" in episode 4. At least that's what we can assume from what was leaked by Bas and Cooheart during interviews.
I also wonder if during the last half of the series, the second two couples will get a small bit of attention, enough to set the scene, but don't get around to forming relationships until season 2. This makes about as much sense as anything. What we absolutely DO know is what all the actors have said, over the course of several interviews...which is that the story will have a season 2 and that the focus in season 2 shifts to the 3rd and 4th couples.

North spends every episode trying to help Easter find his backbone, and his brain. And it's not getting better.
I keep hoping Cooheart AND Sammy will get better roles
Catch him in an older (non-bl) drama called 2 Brothers. He was hilarious and cute. He was like a little, mischievous elf!
He's also great in the movie "Tell the World I Love You". That was just...wow. His character goes through it! The violence...
I agree that Wayu in Gen Y was not the most exciting role. But that was down to bad writing and direction. Bas actually is a good actor.
And he's the only reason for me to stick with this drama. Easter/Hill are boring me to death and their plot makes no sense.

Around episode 5 the second couple (Johan/North) will start.
