I am glad you brought this up and I do agree with you on a lot of things. I saw a few comments regarding this…
I will personally probably bash the fuck out of Vegas. I will probably legit hate that character and nothing may ever change that. I mean, I could be wrong but I'm just suspecting that I will never like him in the least, because I'm not an apologist of any type and rapist characters are never my juice. Even when they've had really solid redemption arcs.
But if people who like Vegas get bashed, I'll be right there telling people "Uh no. They have a right to love Vegas.". But I'll also be there to defend anyone who comes on and says "Woah, Vegas is trash for what he just did." Because 'this is a gangster story, you should expect them to do evil shit' isn't a magic coverall that exempts characters from being criticized or entitles anyone to pick on people who call out Vegas' shitty actions.
As for the bias you mentioned, I would say you may be right about people giving KP a hard time when the same content has happened in other dramas with a pass. Some people respond to hyped dramas in ways that are hypocritical. However, just because it's been given a pass in softer dramas doesn't mean it should have been or that it has to happen here. So I am expecting some degree of outcry when the plot drops down the bad rabbit hole.
And I too will hate all the bad stuff that happens to Pete. But I hate bad stuff happening to any essentially good character. I'm absolutely dreading this week's La Cuisine because poor Lukchub!
Agreed but am I missing something? I have been in here almost 24/7 ( pandemic reasons + lifeless 🤣 ) and I…
Wow, I didn't get a notification of your post and I have no idea why. I'd have got you back if I had seen this. I only knew it was even here because I was refreshing the page.
First, I don't mind if you're here 24/7. As you said, Pandemic. Many of us are working from home these days, which makes it easier to find time to jump onto our fav places to socialize. I myself have fielded a number of insults on other pages for being on MDL a lot and my general answer is what I do with my time is my business. And that goes for you too. Whether you are rarely here or here 24/7, it's your business. You never need to explain yourself.
I will say, I haven't seen much in the way of people expecting the characters of KP to act like Saints. But I actually spend so much time other places that I don't spend enough time on this page to keep up. So it's very possible I have missed a post where someone did insist the characters in KP should behave in moral ways that are not commonly ascribed to people who flout law and conventional ethics for a living. Even so, I wouldn't criticize those posts because it's still within the realms of what is allowed on MDL.
As for comedy, there will always be people who disagree on what that looks like. Or whether mobsters should be immoral in everything they do. Or whether it's cool to look at non-Western programing and judge it using Western values. But I do agree that calling anyone a crazy little girl or a hysterical horny girl is over the line. First of all, gendered or age related insults piss me off. Plus attempts at delegitimization are lame. I did stipulate that the exception to welcome posts involved hate speech or attacking others so I hope I did not somehow convey that I was okay with that kind of shitposting.
I terms of there being posts that attack people for not liking KP, I have seen a lot less of that specifically here recently. Which has been good. But I've been seeing more posts again calling out specific critical opinions on the show as bad or wrong and making uncool observations about the people with those opinions and/or about where those opinions come from. And that falls under the same umbrella. It's not something people should be doing but since it is, I meant to remind people that they needn't let that sort of posting dissuade them from sharing their ideas here.
That being said, the street runs both ways. I also defend peoples' right to love any drama for just about any reason, even ones I find unfathomable. For instance, there are clearly people here who are into rape in fiction. That is a hard no for me. But I don't ever pick on anyone who enjoys rape in storytelling, because it's just an opinion. Just like my opinion that rape isn't bad in a piece of fiction if it's present under the context of a heinous attack. Not as fap material. And if I see someone who likes rape fic being attacked here for being into what Vegas will eventually do to Pete, I will jump in to defend them even though I personally will be skipping any and all rape scenes in the show. Because I find them creepy, even if they are shown in the right context.
And I would not always necessarily find shows you like to be shit. I love KP. I do differ from you on my opinion regarding the merits of non-consent in storytelling and on the value of toxic storylines. However, that too is something I welcome. The world would be ridiculously boring if we all saw fiction in the same light.
So what I am hoping for, and it's usually in short supply on MDL, is tolerance for everyone's different point of view regarding the show's content.
You almost had me there for a second. Then I thought to myself, this person is a coinisseure of the comments section. What better way to add to the delightfully aged vintages here than to introduce your own fermented fruits.
Well, I think Kirin is a better singer than Pran, but that's about the only comparable thing that I can think…
This made me laugh. That's like comparing old, well worn Chuck Taylors to dog shit. One of them is a comfortable, stylish legend, the other is what the legend sometimes steps in by mistake.
I am worried about this myself. I don't have a good feel for how Kinn handles moments of emotional exigency yet.
I've heard some of the novel fans mention he's much better in the drama. And I don't count him choking out Porsche as a tell because that was literally to save Porsche's life and sometimes you just do what you gotta do and grab the band-aids and apology beers later.
I am really liking this Kinn. I just haven't seen enough of how he handles the dangerous emergencies to know how extreme he's likely to get.
''But of course subtleties like that escape a person when they're busy imagining their love interest wearing a…
Yeah, we were kind of robbed of cool, confident Kuea. But then if you recall, the confident Kuea was labeled "Naughty" for being so. Obviously the fanbase and the writers presenting this mess to them all believe that Kuea needed to become a baby so he was worthy of Lian loving him. 🤮🤮🤮
Episode 3 spoiler ( my button doesn't work again smh) Was Porsche drunk? Yes but so was Kinn. Both of them were…
Is anyone butthurt? I must be missing some posts because I haven't read anyone getting butthurt over the kiss.
Also, I would never make the argument that both parties being drunk disqualifies one person taking advantage of another. Fact, tons of people every day get drunk and don't commit sexual assault, so being drunk isn't an excuse if you DO commit some form of it while drunk. Also Fact being drunk isn't any kind of defense when you do anything against the law, or even something considered immoral. If being drunk excused you from crimes then drunk driving wouldn't be something that was prosecutable.
Generally people don't prescribe to the idea that one thing isn't bad just because something worse also happened. The small bad thing is still a bad thing. And it's okay for people to look at that kiss as though it wasn't a cool thing to do.

In the case of my review of episode 3, I did remark that the kiss was non-con expressly because of the issue of intoxication, but also I did stipulate that when it came to the overall themes on the way, it was a small concern in the face of the greater whole.
I love most of the varied opinions on the show. And I encourage anyone coming here to feel unencumbered with worry over whether your post will be received well or whether your opinions will upset other people here.
It shouldn't need to be said, let alone regularly, but here we are. This isn't just a place for people who loved the book, love the show and who vibe with the troublesome elements in the story as it unfolds. It's a place where everyone's opinion on the show is welcome.
There is a culture of "How dare this person say this thing that I don't agree with!" on MDL in general and on the KinnPorsche page in specific. But the fact is, this isn't a fan page. This is a comments section. You don't have to like the show to post here and even if you do like the show, you don't have to approve of every element. Your post regarding show content is still valid. Your opinion about each episode still worthy. You ideas about KinnPorsche, no matter what, are welcome.
Ignore anyone posting "I hate that so-and-so said X about the show! They're wrong!". Objectively speaking, no opinion is right. All opinions on KinnPorsche (and indeed any drama) are the result of personal experience, cultural context and our individual personalities. So never fear how your opinion will be received so long as it doesn't violate MDL's TOS or contain hate speech or threats.
Also ignore anyone posting that if you don't like certain elements of the show you should not watch it. Ignore anyone inviting you to stop watching based upon their reaction to your opinion. You don't have to qualify why you watch something that has elements in it that you do not vibe with. You can hate watch something even. It's a perfectly valid approach.
I don't worry about what others think about my posts. In fact, I've been known to poke bears when it comes to people complaining about my content on MDL before. I personally have in the past and will continue in the future to discuss any number of touchy topics regarding KinnPorsche, including my opinion on any themes of non-consent (if they should present themselves) and many other elements. So feel free to dig right in. I will do my best to defend you if the waters get troubled and people dogpile you. Though you might have to drop me a DM if I miss you getting hammered with haters. Because this page sees a lot of action and I do fall behind. In the end, you aren't alone in your opinion, most of the time, and often others want to know what you think, even if your post is making some other users mad.

Kuea was meant to be a good and properly well behaved child lover for Lian and that meant giving up naughty things like music and self-determination.
I am really liking this Kinn. I just haven't seen enough of how he handles the dangerous emergencies to know how extreme he's likely to get.
Did someone actually call you all disgusting for watching this because of the kiss? Holy fuck. That's...a leap. That's a big leap.
